That final kill reminds of not that long ago, I actually got to kick a flea to death with my 80mrm Hatamoto-chi after I ran out of ammo. He was harassing a teammate of mine, and I came around the corner and gave it a good kick in the pan. He keeled right over. My buddies who had died and watched it through my cam, busted out laughing. :D And they say there is no melee in MWO.

Centurions were my first mechs in MWO (rules of three) and AH(L) was my first mech with C-Bill bonus… still love the design, heavy torso twisting gameplay. But honestly, it's hard mode ^^

CT Hitbox is kinda broken on the Cent like on the Banshee. Worked better in the Past.

I just won a slap fight with an atlas in a centurion AH, used mrm 10, ssrm 2 and lbx5ac and ac5

Glad to see you enjoyed the build enough to make a daily dose out of it, it is absolutely one of the funnest mechs to play I've piloted in a while. Keep up the good work and see you Sunday.

I recently fell in love with the AC20 on a Trial mech..that thing is amazing.

While it isn't as vomitworthy as triple RL 20s, I do like triple SRM 2s to back up the big gun with lots of spam that doesn't leave you useless if the gun arm goes. The AH also has the distinction as the only variant to be removed entirely for a while when Yen-Lo-Wang showed up.

I'm sure you've heard this question before Baradul, but... do you think a melee system could work in Mechwarrior (it's upcoming single player game and of course Online)? Melee has been one of those things that I find really enjoyable in games; I naturally tend to gravitate towards melee-centric classes or characters. From what little I understand of the lore as well, melee was an effective strategy even during the Clan Invasion considering the clanners considered it barbaric(? not sure - I'm just reciting what information I've heard, or think I've heard). I get that it might be difficult to implement, but it's certainly not insurmountable, but do you think it would be fun? Add a fresh new dynamic to the gameplay? Would it be a meaningful introduction? (although I guess that would depend on how they'd implement it)

Baradul I'm a big fan of your rougetech project b series. It's great and your the only one doing it. Really want to see you run a party of super heavies.

One of my favourite mechs. Not one of the best, but damn did I enjoy making money with this mech back in the day. :)

Oh side note, if you're face hugging with a cent, aim to the left a bit more, the gun is deceiving in the distance from your sight line.

i bought the ac20 and it isnt an option when outfitting my centurion. is it because i have a base centurion that is too small to carry the ac20?

I was wondering, I noticed you use ultra ACs a lot more than rotary ACs, but still do sometimes use rotaries. How do they compare, and in what situations would you use one over the other?

I have a build similar to this on one of my CN9-AHs, but I have a UAC20 instead of an AC20, as just one AC20 is not enough firepower for a 50 ton mech. Overall I prefer the bog standard AC20+SRM4s+fast XL engine build for this mech, but this setup can be a fun gimmick.

Wow havent seem a cent build in a long time!

I've had a lot more luck with a UAC10, MRM20 build. A 250LFE leaves you 4 tons for ammo, or you can drop to a 225LFE for an extra 1.5 tons of ammo.

couldnt you have dropped the dead arm armor for some more ammo?

I'd love to see more light mech challenge builds. How about an ac 20 urby? Or maybe an lrm 30 cicada build like from battle tech/rogue tech?

I like to keep my standard engine on the AH. I notice a huge survivability increase from a light fusion or XL

I never like this build not cause it a bad build just cause it lack a laser hard point. don't like to be so ammo dependent lol :P

I personally prefer speed. 9A(NCIX) - LE - 94Kp/h, LB10X, 2ML, 3xRL20 (or 2xRL20 1xRL15 for more LB ammo) I love the build. I play it as a joke, but for some reason I always do well in it, I've come to learn its quite decent actually. Also 20% total cooldown buff for the LBX.

Rocket Launchers? Nah. AC20+3xSRM4+LFE250. 2 tons ammo each weapon. Requires some firing discipline, but is quite deadly. Alternatively downgrade engine to LFE225 and you can pack 1.5t more ammo.

Centurion is still my favorite mech.

I love the Centurion, believe it or not it is one of my favorite mechs to play! Changed the build a lot, lrms were good with a machine gun, now it has mrms and I am not sold on them yet!

How does this thing 1. Not have a bigger shield on the left arm? 2. Not have huge armor quirks on that left arm?

My favorite medium but I dont like the single arm weapon. I ran this with a uac10 instead for awhile with srms and that seemed the best. I also liked the 3x streak 6 version. I really like this paint scheme most of all though. Tried to mount mrm but the srms have better dps with less heat while trading range.

What weak herd of opponents.

in my CN9-A, I have a rotary 5, large pulse and 3 rocket launcher 20s.

Definitely the hardest 50 tonner to run with an AC20, if not the most difficult 50 tonner to play period. The lack of even a single energy hardPoint and only three missile hardpoints makes it a real challenge. It doesn’t even have any hardpoints of any sort in the CT, so you cant zombie your way to decent damage like other centurions can. It also has the annoying centurion gun arm issue where your arm is so far out, and the projectile so slow that leading your shots is harder than in something like a hunchback or jaegermech. When I mastered this mech, I believe I ran triple srm2’s to back the AC20. It still wasn’t great, but I made it through. If I were trying to master it now, I’d probably just use MRMs!

Joseph Brewster Eh, I’d prefer the Centurion to the Hunchback-IIC. But that’s because I prefer IS AC-20 to Clan UAC-20. Besides that though, the Centurion is a sturdier mech, plus it has that sick shield arm. Besides that, you can swap out the Rockets for 3x SRM-4s, which is my preferred set.
