Chun Woo-hee in two concurrent dramas (The 8 Show and The Atypical Family) is driving me crazy 😍

Just finished binge watching The 8 Show. This drama is so freaking good! People, watch this drama! It’s really amazing! The acting is phenomenal!

The 7th floor is the best among the floors. The 7th floor deserves the "8th floor spot". Because of these reasons: -He makes fair divisions for everyone. -He is super smart and sided for humanity. -He is the best humanitarian (except for the 3rd floor and 2nd floor) ______________________________ The 8th floor is the worst and most evil for humanity. -She is more sadistic than the 6th floor. Because for the 6th floor he is a violentmaker, he's intention is not to make others suffer, and he will kill them immediately unlike the 8th floor knows the perfect despair for everyone.

This was such a good show - I went in not even knowing whah it was about and having zero expectations and ended up pulling an all nighter watching all the episodes bc I couldn’t stop. At first I assumed it was basically a ripoff of squid games but then felt like it was in a manner much darker and more psychologically intense than squid games. It went to the darkest parts of human psychology that squid games wouldn’t dare go to. It also made me think about society - it shows how all you need is 1 or 2 bad eggs with power (like politicians, business leaders, the leaders of all aspects of life) and suddenly everyone gets screwed over when life really doesn’t have to be so bad.

omg same and I agree with everything you say. Can you share your thoughts on the characters? SPOILER ALERT. Although everyone has their own spotlight, 3 and 5 are my least favorite. Apart from being the "main" pov for viewers, 3 is just there to make silly faces and funny reactions. Almost all of his actions feel reactive and dictated by the situations. I don't blame him, I mean he is just a dumb guy who easily got tricked and can't hold a proper job. Regarding 5, she is just there to deliver plot twists and keep the story going. It's a necessary function, I guess. About character histories, 7 is the only one that isn't there because of money problem. Do you think he is actually the creator of the whole thing?

@@dinh_khai_ i agree about #5 but i personally loved #3 his comedic timing was brilliant and created a really delicious balance of themes to keep the show going imo! also him being entirely reactive and a bit of a 'loser' was on purpose to depict that kind of archetype in society - someone who gets swept up into bad circumstances not because they're an evil person but because they don't know how to think for themselves/ be confident in their decisions. i thought this aspect of his character made his scenes so hilarious!! also, omg im still confused about #7's role - there were several moments in the show that implied/ basically spelled out that he was one of the creators and in on it the whole time and then other moments that made it seem like he was as clueless as the others. did you happen to catch his backstory? maybe im just confused ab him lol

No way I watched this show but it is very good but not extraordinarily as squid game I recommend you to watch this series but don't expect too much Squid game>The 8 Show

funnily enough Bae Sung-woo (the guy who plays 1st Floor) has a striking resemblance to joaquin phoenix and has a prominent Joker arc in this show! i wonder if his casting was on purpose for that reason

yes we were definitely all waiting on her downfall but honestly the fact that it never happened (while they were still in the show at least) is strongly reflective of the actual society they all come from - the rich/ privileged stay rich/ privileged, while the more lowly & poor folk remain this way too (even in mentality, if they were to suddenly gain riches). that being said i absolutely loved 8th Floor she was so funny and chillingly good at being amused by the sheer evil she was witnessing/ participating in!

I feel so bad for 5th floor 1st floor 7th floor and 2nd floor 5th keeps hallucinating she tries to make peace but she sees things that makes her do bad things 1st floor died and his 1 billion won was wasted like crazy and he just died 2nd she was beaten up like crazy by that crazy animal 6th floor she almost died 7th floor the way he laughed at the sleep deprivation torture we can tell how he had pain and he got shot in the leg
