Sharp note is different than a hash/pound. On a sharp note sign the vertical lines are straight and the horizontal are diagonal (opposite of the hashtag), so Subaru messed that one up.

Never ever did i think i would say that. I even cancelled my service appointment at my local speed shop for a stage 3 package to be installed because i know a buyer will want it as close to stock and unmolested as possible

The reason some of them might crap out is because of 20 something's revving them to redline all the time and hitting the rev limiter because "it's cool."

I came here to almost say this.. A # and a♯are actually different symbols. The C sharp programming language technically should be written C♯, but as you can't easily type in, general use has made people associate hash with it instead. The automaker really should have used the correct symbol haha, so doug is actually correct in how he said it 😂😂

Not exactly sure what you're trying to say about "C#". But yes, pound (#) and sharp (♯) are different-tilted vertical lines vs. tilted horizontal lines. The sharp symbol does still exist, as you can see. The "S#" used for "Sport Sharp" on the dial is actually a pound sign, but pretty much everyone uses the pound sign instead of the real sharp symbol. Only time you're guaranteed to see ♯ is on sheet music.

deziking I ain't gonna lie, I'm not all that big of a fan of the WRX's look, but it's (supposedly) a rally car, they aren't exactly supposed to be flashy.

The reason the Sport Sharp uses the # is because that is the symbol for a sharp note in music notation

Fast forward to 2021 and bam we get the 2021 STI with the Type RA block! 🙌

Fun fact to those who don't know: The Sport Sharp logo actually has a # sign because in music when a note has the # symbol next to it, it's considered a sharp note.

Sharp note is different than a hash/pound. On a sharp note sign the vertical lines are straight and the horizontal are diagonal (opposite of the hashtag), so Subaru messed that one up.

Pixel, yeah. I was curious a few years back why it was called sharp or hash and looked it up. The thing with the sharp sign is that it's difficult to be able to type it out (browser, text, etc.), so commonly the hash is substituted. But in this case (I think), Subaru should have used the sharp symbol.

clicking on every Doug DeMuro starts with THISSS ISS....

Honestly, I prefer the stock spoiler to the Type RA one. The Type RA spoiler looks out of place for some reason to me

fj717 the forged connecting rods are the only thing that even makes it even remotely worth it. But even so 2019 sti’s here in North America will now have factory forged con rods

Twenty 20 It performs really well. Just in applications like rally racing and whatnot. The AWD thing does little outside of coming off the line or non-dry pavement handling.

The standard STI has the birthday reminder on the display as well. I was in Japan on my birthday last year which was my first birthday after buying the car, but my dad made sure to start it up and send me a picture.

I know I’m a bit late but the hashtag is a sharp sign in music.

weetikissa it’s not easy to do this job man :/ not many ppl can be as comfortable in front of a camera as he is. not everyone can attract the viewers attention like he does as well, he has the talent of speech that attract my attention but not be too annoying as well

Ps on most subarus even the NA Impreza, you can turn off the guage max feature by putting the car in acc power, then pressing the trip button on the guage, it will switch between on and off.

The pound sign/hashtag sign is the symbol for sharp in music. Also, my normal WRX also has the birthday feature. I've never used it, but see it whenever I go into settings.

The s# is a musical reference. # means sharp in musical key signatures. Good job subaru. You almost sold me this vehicle on that alone

Are all the automakers just going let’s throw a 50k price tag on our cars just because. I mean seriously. The cost of producing technologies goes down, safety futures are no longer a premium option and inflation hasn’t doubled in the last 18 years. So why have vehicle prices????

The STi RA isn't the average new car, which is why it's priced at $50k. This year the median new car transaction price in the U.S. is around $36k, which is where the most basic STI starts. Also, inflation has increased by about 50% since the year 2000.

A lot of safety features are mandated by govt regulations, so your car has 6x airbags not so much because they are so cheap to put in there that they may as well, but that they have to. Which makes your car more expensive.
