I totally agree with your top 5! If you were to add onto it though, I’d add the rottie and German shepherd. As a groomer, rotties are one of the breeds I don’t like doing because they are so connected and loyal to their owners that they can be unpredictable if the owner isn’t around. I don’t know if you’ve had this experience as a trainer or not. Let me know what you think. And GSDs, I own one, luckily a lower drive one, but he’s still a handful. They take a lot of consistency and structure. They are my favorite breed by far, but I would not recommend one for someone who hasn’t owned a dog before.

Yes!!! I want to do a part two and really want to add Rottie’s, Dobermans, GSPs and mals! I feel like any powerful breed that is naturally protective and skeptical of new people takes a very diligent owner in order to thrive! I love German shepherds too, I would really love one in the future!

@@katybing3452 German Shepherd are amazing for first time owners. They are popular for a reasons. Most loyal and trainable dog you can own. There are many lines of German Shepherd. The good thing with German Shepherd is that there is so many lines that you can get a lazy GSD if you pick a calmer puppy from a show line or you can get wroking German Shepherd for more active family. I have had German Shepherds that were comparable in drive to a pug and I have had working GSD that could work all day. The German Shepherd breeds has different lines to fit almost any needs. They are the most versatile breed. This is why they are so popular.

I'd love to see Cane Corso on that list! Especially with their growing popularity. The best but also probably the most difficult dog I have raised

I had Akita growing up because my parents very experienced dog people Akita’s are very scary in the wrong hands because they don’t like change

You are too good. I was just reading about the mauling death of the 69 year old woman who was "playing" with an Akita in the play yards". Not to speak ill of the dead (I'm not)..but how does one "play" with an pure bred Akita? I am always concerned about how one plays with certain dogs. Not throwing a ball or frisbee..but wrestling and teasing. Can be a problem.

Thank you!!🤍 That’s horrible. :( it’s so hard, because I think people tend to see dogs from a human perspective and don’t think about how the dogs are viewing their actions + how it’s going to affect their relationship with the dog in the future.

What are your thoughts about Dobermans being on this list?

I think they should be!! I want to do a part two with five more dog breeds and they will definitely be a part of that video :)
