Crossfade capability is definitely an improvement over GB. But GB has fade in/fade out capability (maybe not quite as easy - but the capability exists; you give the impression it doesn’t exist).

Valid point, Mike. Technically it does not have fade in/out at the region level. You can set volume automation to fade at the end of the chain, but that is after any plugin processing. Alternatively, you could add a gain plugin at the start of your plugin list to have fade in/out prior to the processing. This would be the most similar to fades as demonstrated here, but is definitely more work in comparison. But yes, definitely valid point that you are able to create fades in GB
Still considering the switch over. I do like the idea of the gain tool and the fade in and out tool. But I'm more excited about the improved drummer capabilities I would get with logic. I just am a bit afraid of the cost, space it will take up on my mac, and having to make the switch in how I work.

I always encourage people switching to think of Logic as GarageBand+. There's no need to make major changes to how you are comfortable doing things, just more features to make it all easier and faster!
