Dang I used to rewatch rise of the guardians almost everyday as a kid, you mentioning it here just unlocked a part of my memory I'd forgotten about

The fact that Tai Lung isn’t in this list is mindblowing to me. Tai Lung is for me the 2nd best villain in Kung fu panda. Kai is not put before Tai Lung. Tai Lung’s story is 1000 times better. Hope he will become redeemed and be the next dragon warrior. What an awesome story!

The best villain of the franchise in my opinion. It's just the right villain to be there since he is technically the nemesis to the main character. Also he wants to kill Po because he is himself, not because he is the dragon warrior or a problem in his plans.

I don’t really get it with him as much. I think he’s amazing no doubt, but not sure how people think he beats Tai Lung. Such a force to be reckoned with, and then he just pours his heart out while fighting Shifu, and that small contemplation when Shifu says Sorry to him, so amazing. It hits way more emotionally than Shen does, in my opinion

The best writing overall. Who ever did this movies and these villans, deserves eternal glory in Valhala!

Kai is a great villain. You know he is a great villain when he absolutely gives you nightmares a child.

I guess hardly anyone thinks of Prince of Egypt when they think DreamWorks animation but I loved Ramses from it. And Fairy Godmother from Shrek 2. Sort of great “doesn’t really see themselves as the bad guy in these situations” type of villains.

lord shen is one of the best villains ever. he has so much depth and backstory behind him and you even get to see his inner turmoil with what he’s doing throughout the movie. not to mention he’s a badass fighter and super funny

Lord Farauaad is iconic, but outside of that he is just a simp. The other two I can see them being in a personal top 5. Debois is the frenchest and strongest french I've ever seen, while Tai Lung is both iconic and deep. I would personally put Tai Lung in Kai's place, but Debois close outside of the top 5

@@SingleRiderGuy still makes him an antagonist and not a villain, the true villains of Puss In Boots the Last Wish is BIG Jack Horner, primarily because of which he chose to be the villain, Death is an entity that comes for us all in some way shape or form, giving him the appearance of what scares us the most, if Death truly was a villain in the DreamWorks sense, he would have killed Puss when he had the chance in the orphanage but he strangely never took said chance until Puss started to be reckless and arrogant both qualities that Death truly hated about Puss, hell when Puss had his panic attack that WOULD have been the perfect chance for Death to off Puss if he TRULY wanted to, but he never did once more

It's not death's job to make it personal and kill someone. Even death implied this (puss:"but I am still alive, that's cheating", death: "shh don't tell"). He is also a sadistic resentfful, and likes to incite psychological torture to puss. If he really wanted to kill puss or some of say "teach puss a lesson" (which is a complete BS), he would have killed puss much sooner instead of tormenting him, he clearly have the ability to know a get to wherever puss is. Why I said death is a sadistic psychopath, well look at some of his lines, "I like the smell of fear", "Go ahead, run, makes it more fun to me", when puss finally realise to to value his life, death VERBALLY AND VISUALLY expresses his frustration and said: "why did I play with my food, you're ruining this for me" it's kinda like when you eat animals while they are still alive 😬. Are all of those lines suggest that he is "doing his job" or "teach puss a lesson"? NO 😂, it suggest that death is a resentful, sadistic, battle-hungry psychopath that like to torture his victims. All of that said, death is Evil, and that makes him a villain.

@@Army_Dog yeah that's rude But, scale is what we're dealing with. He's hunting a cocky bastard who's wasted their lives. He's just getting the inevitable done before they could go and waste it. Pitch is going to put the world into darkness and fear. An unending horror of creations of the human mind, individually targeting everyone. Pitch is Evil. Death is just making the inevitable come a bit earlier

Also he was breaking the rules, his job isn't to do that, if a police officer were to walk up to a jail cell and kill a criminal in cold blood because they were going to get executed anyway would the justice system see that as doing his job? Fun fact: The last second before you die you will see death,that will be the first and the last time you will see him.

Hal/Tighten is an underrated villain to me, since he's a dark reflection of our entitlement and ill intentions in gaining power.

I would have made Grimmel number 1, he plans ahead, basically making every move FOR hiccup, even though he barely knew him and had captured toothless in days after knowing he lived.

Death is more of an antagonist rather than a villain. Villains will harm anyone to achieve their goal, as Jack did. Death, however - in my personal opinion - was doing his job in a way. He was against Puss for attempting to cheat death again and being reckless by using the wishing star; however, once Puss decided that he was going to treasure his life and discard the star, Death realized his job was done and left Puss to enjoy his last life.

@@Army_Dog I don't think so. The function of a villain is to destroy anything or anyone who stands in the way of achieving their goal; in this case, Jack would be considered the villain. Death is more on the Antagonist spectrum. The Antagonist is someone who is against the goal of the protagonist - they could even be on the same side and still disagree. Death was against Puss' Goal of using the Wishing Star to revive his lost lives because he wasn't valuing the one he had or the ones he lost. Think about it - If Death was truly a villain, would he have let Puss live when Puss realized just how important his current life was?

@@Army_Dog If that is your logic, Puss himself is a villain considering he is an Outlaw & currently has a bounty on his head. Jack Honer is the True Villain, Death is merely an antagonist trying to keep the balance; sometimes, bad things must be done to maintain that balance.
