That is not the point, the point is that the idea itself of a " government by the people" began with the declaration of Independence, prior to that such an idea did not exist. That we have or not have the ideal world that is another story, since humans are not perfect. . And btw, if by "Freedom of Speech" you mean "Freedom to exercise anarchy and ignorance" use this holiday to reflect deeply in your direction in life and keep it real for your own sake and the sake of the world.

Anyone could take out RFK Jrs name and insert the name of their candidate. We need to be prayerful in our choice of candidates. Part of my heritage goes back to the second ship to land here. Part of it goes back to a Russian Jew fleeing here for safety in 1906. On both of those lines and a few others, my ancestors came here in pursuit of religious freedom. My ancestors fought in every war including the Revolutionary War. I come from a long line of veterans. I am a female veteran. My first oath of allegiance is to my God and my second is to the Constitution. Those are my guidelines when voting. If they are not everyone's, we are destined to fail.

I have always known the reason for the holiday "forth of July" but I had really known that the United States of America was the first country to have a democracy for the people. After I wrote that I realized the Rabbi was just trying to wish us a happy Fourth of July and remind us there are plenty of things that are good and notable about America. He is correct of course, and on such a day to recognize the good is proper. Even so, if I failed to mention they didn't get Women's Rights right back then either I would be asleep at the wheel of life.

America also spells "I AM" RACE if you rearrange the letters...no coincidence

One correction: The idea that the founding fathers were Deists is much asserted, yet is sorely lacking in evidence. The founding fathers were independant individuals from different walks of life and from different upbringings. To put them in a general box of "they were Deists" is, on its very surface, preposterous. It's time to put this myth of misinformation to rest.

Please consider a gener approach. This dear Rabbi is on his way to Messiah. He might see Him more than you. Only the Holy Ruach can open our eyes to Messiah. Until then, let’s shine Yeshua’s light but be careful not to attack a people that God Himself has partially blinded. ❤🙏🏼
