"I'm a virgin. I always have been." People miss what a ridiculous line that is.
Believe it or not, that was Steve Carell ACTUALLY getting his real chest hair waxed. And his reactions were 100% genuine, including when he screamed out, "Kelly Clarkson!" And at 20:04, Romany Malco ACTAULLY did get nauseous from the waxing that he had to walk off the set. Also, the lady who played the waxer actually WASN'T a waxer, but she lied to the casting department that she was a professional. And when she waxed Steve's nipple at 20:28, she actually ALMOST ripped his whole nipple off completely when she forgot to apply vaseline on the nipple.

The end of the movie she was smiling ear to ear.
The essence of the movie is there is no timeline on doing things in your life. You don't have to be 16 and get a car. You don't have to be 40 and be married. You do what is right for you and not listen to your friends. I am 49 and not married. I was engaged twice. I had a house and lost it. I have never owned a car or had a regular drivers license. I have a motorcycle license instead. Not having a car but a motorcycle helped me both financially and maintenance costs. It took me over 20 years to get my undergraduate and graduate degrees. People laughed at all that. Now I am 49 and getting married to a 39 year old who is just like me. I am learning to drive a car now and saving up money for a house.

One of the best comedies of the past 20 years
The good thing about this comedy is that, in the end, virtually ALL the people in it were good people who meant well. So many comedies have assholes in them, that it's refreshing to see just good people.

you tuck your pant leg into your sock on the sprocket (large gear cog thing) side so it doesn't get either greasy or straight up caught in the sprocket/chain..
Should definitely follow with Knocked Up, the director’s next film after. It’s gosh darn hysterical!
That scene where he has all those plastic anatomy models reminds me of my old neighbor - used to be a biology professor and kept a bunch of things from when he retired from his university in a ratty old half falling down barn, so you'd walk in and there would be organs in jars , mummified body parts and animal parts all over the place and sitting on the rafters. If you were just some random guy who got lost in the woods and ended up wandering into the barn for shelter one night you'd have probably freaked out thinking he was some kind of psycho
Fun Fact: the show Steve Carell was in The Office was being considered for cancellation by the network but his comedy in this movie boosted the viewing of their show helping save it.
Fun fact: This was Jonah Hills first movie ever, even thou it's just a few minutes that he is in it. He went on to be casted as the main actor in Superbad (which is the creators of 40 year old virgin that made Superbad) So they mustve really liked him on set of 40 Year old Virgin, to give him this chance in a multi million project like Superbad.
Digging yourself a hole with that “temptations” bit at the beginning 😂
This movie came out during a very dark time in my life. I saw this when I was feeling low and will never forget how much it cheered me up for a few hours. Laughter truly is therapeutic.
Intro part.... Stop talking, gonna get in trouble 🤣😅. It took 37:50 for Asia to say "I'm gonna need you to focus"

I laughed all over again with y’all! You MUST now watch the bloopers and outtakes from this movie. HILARIOUS!!!😂 😂
This was the first Judd Apatow movie and he revolutionized comedies, this one, Anchorman, Knocked up, This is 40, Super bad, Bridesmaids and a few others. Look forward to more
The outakes/bloopers reel is hilarious, too.

You might have seen her in Out Of Sight with George Clooney and Ving Rhames, and if you haven't then you really should because it is awesome. Just like you 2.
Moneyball is a must for you two! Such a great movie!
Dinner for Schmucks is a good movie too, it has Paul Rudd and Michael what's his name in it.
I actually worked for one of those eBay stores back in the mid-2000s. The whole point is that eBay was a huge, new thing at the time, so the stores popped up to take advantage of the craze. You would bring your stuff to the store and we'd do research on eBay to give an idea of what those items were selling for. If you decided it was enough, we would take a % of the final sale price to photograph the item, list it on eBay, respond to inquiries, and ship the item to the winner, then you'd get a check. The whole point being that you just drop off the item and we do all the work. You also benefited from using a known seller with a high review score/rating and someone who knew how to make good listings rather than people worrying that the seller was a scammer and take your money and never get the item.
You can tell its a movie from the past, now if you got collectables in a room, its normal. Heck, both guys and girls collect stuff like action figures, bobbles heads, toys. How the time have changed now. The top of my desk is covered with stuff lol. Even got some in the bedroom, granted the bedroom is mainly my wifes area for decorating lol.
This movie, Knocked up, Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Anchorman were some of my favorite comedies in this time frame.
Fun Fact: The Waxing scene was real 😅 🤣

True Romance is one of my favourite movies of all time. Great movie to react to.
The waxing scene was real. He wanted to give a genuine reaction, so he actually had his chest waxed when they filmed it.
that wax scene has to be one of the naturally funniest things anyone has just let in their movie. I LOVE that the other guys watching him get waxed could NOT keep straight faces. Everything in that scene was so real lmao.
Zach Galifianakis is the actor in the Hangover movies.
Ok I had to tell you that I had an aunt that passed away at 98 years who old and was a virgin. She was proud of it and didn't think she missed anything. She was like a Nun or something always taking care of people...
The waxing scene was actually real.
Waxing scene: If you look closely you'll see Steve starting to bleed. In the next scene you could see blood on the shirt. The movie they were watching was Dawn Of The Dead (the one with Ving Rhimes).
I appreciate silly Office Steve Carrell and Ace Ventura Jim Carey. But when I see films like Dan in Real Life and Eternal sunshine. It makes me love them more endearingly.

Steve Carell is from 'The Office' tv series.
ISTG if I had a dollar for every time my husband or I said to each other, "it's not about butthole pleasures", I would have a lot of dollars! SO MUCH fun to see you two enjoying this movie! I feel like part of it's charm is that underneath all the raunchiness is a very sweet story. Andy is like all those toys, his life didn't begin until he took himself out of the box. He made friends and found love (and finally had sex, although that in the end seems like the least interesting part!).
Many thanks to Asia and BJ! 😆 I'm so grateful I got to see this one on the big screen.
Catherine Keener was in the movie, Survival Quest.
the scary movie they was watchin in the store was DAWN OF THE DEAD
I'm always shocked when people in their 30's haven't seen this movie before. It's a classic!! You're in for a treat. Edit : Ya'll need to find a new editor. There are entire scenes missing.
This is one of those movies that I will ALWAYS watch if I see it pop up on TV. Hilarious! So fun watching you guys enjoy this!!
Asia is so innocent. She didn't even know what mortal Kombat was lol
LOL y'all are hilarious! This movie is too funny. Also, the scary movie they're watching in the store is "Dawn of the Dead" 2004 with Mekhi Phifer(really good zombie movie)

I recite or at least mouth the opening greeting along with y'all every time. I, too enjoy the cadence.
This is one of my favorite goto movies to cheer me up if im having a bad day.
The musical they were dancing to at the end was taken from the movie "Hair".
Asia's face as BJ imagines what life would've been like as a 40 year old virgin 😆. This movie is what introduced me to Steve Carell, which led me to watching (and binging) The Office. Then I saw Dinner with Schmucks. I need to watch Foxcatcher because Carell is mostly a comedic actor and Foxcatcher is a more dramatic film.
the way way back is a heartwarming film.
I forgot how much I loved Steve Carrell for doing that wax scene live and for real. So good! 😂
The action figure that you thought was an Austin Powers figure is actually, Steve Austin from the tv series "The Six Million Dollar man" from the 1970's. Steve Austin was played by Lee Majors who also played in an 80's series " The Fall guy."

Take the black pill. There's always a job for you at the monastery. And on the bright side, no chance of HIV or who knows what disease will pop up next. I got a relatively minor STD from my hottest hookup and it was a horrible few months. I regretted having sex at all. I can't say they are great memories either, sex at my age isn't what it was, I'd probably imagine it was something I got screwed out of if I never had it and maybe hate the world who knows. I think for me now, I'd be fine without it if I had some nice cabin in the woods and not hotties around ever. Unfortunately I have to live in the city because I didn't save, so yeah, you older virgins if you take care of your money that's a good point in your favor. Women are like panning for gold with a bottomless pan. If you ever do find someone and you have money don't tell them about it, seriously at least not for a long time.
