@@cheerful_crop_circle "You are actually wrong because the monitor is the most important and essential part that links the PC" Yeah no shit, that was my point too. "If a monitor is more expensive than the PC itself, it doesn't make sense at all." This sort of comparison makes zero sense because you're making a >blanket statement A photographer or videographer can spend $1000 to buy a computer that suits their needs for photography or graphic design, but then spend $2000 on a monitor that can be professionally calibrated and color accurate for that kind of work. So there it makes perfect sense to have a monitor that is more expensive than the computer. For example a Mac mini M2 costs around $1000 and is extremely good for photography production, and a professional photography display like an Eizo 32" 4K 100% AdobeRGB costs $2000. The price of your computer dictates the >speed visual quality< like color accuracy, contrast, resolution, size etc. They are two completely different factors and you just cannot say that A is always more important than B etc, because it all depends on the use case.

I would like to know this as well. It isn't a dealbreaker for me. But as I am currently sitting on a 3080 + 7600X I will struggle in some games to reach good fps or I might prefer a smaller display and higher fps in e.g. CS2. Having the cropped 27" in the middle might strain my neck if I have to look slightly upwards if I move the display closer as I probably will when using it in 27" mode for games like CS2.

@@mozzjones6943 just from personal experience my lg b6 was perfectly fine for about 3 years and the the burn in just start becoming unavoidable. its like certain colours eventually weaken and wear out. i have the netflix logo burned into the botton corner...i barely watch netflix and the logo appears for like 2 seconds at a time. obviously a monitor will be treated worse than a tv when it comes to static images, but i also imagine the tech to stop it has become much better. i feel like if you do manage to get past the 2 years without burn in, you're probably just doing yourself a disservice because its going to come eventually.

Yea, but except it's litterly a 4k monitor instead of 1440p. That's 2,25 times more pixels, so there's that. There are extremely powerful pc's out there that can really take advantage of a 4k 240hz monitor.

I'm decided this year... i'm saving up to buy LG's 27 inch oled that's 1440p and 240Hz (forgot the extremely complicated name that you need a phd to remember lmao) I wanna use it since my current setup is - A wall mounted LG C2 (4k 120Hz Hdr oled) - a BenQ EW2780U on the desk (4K 60Hz Hdr ips) - my Macbook Pro 16 inch M2 Max (3.5k 120Hz Hdr mini led display) And i gotta say while my monitor is perfectly fine for desktop usage, it's really long overdue for an upgrade if i wanna game on a 27inch instead of my tv😮‍💨 Also gonna need to buy that Caldigit TS4 dock to connect my macbook with display port and charge it at the same time (on top of other uses) The USB C port from the monitor you reviewed today is VERY compelling 😩😩😩 But hey, i feel like this LG monitor is pretty much a 27inch LG C2 lol (-4k but obviously it downsamples the 4k image so all good !) Great video. Can you comment a bit more on the text clarity on a Mac? I know you covered it quickly, but since you used 27 inch 4k and a 32 4k, there’s a difference in the ppi, which the Mac cares about. Would you say text is blurry or is there a significant difference in the clarity on 4k 27 vs 4k 32 inch?

I personally think that the following sizes are the sweet spot for popular resolutions. 1080p: 24 inches 1440p: 27 inches 1440p ultrawide: 34 inches, which is big yea, but remember it's 1440p ultrawide so a really stretched out monitor. 4k: 32 inches. That's part of why the monitor in this vid is so great. 8k: Well apart from how brutally demanding 8k is to get 60hz in games, there are also no 8k monitors yet, so it's not really a viable option yet. Yea, you can get the Dell Ultrasharp 8k display, but that's just not aimed at gaming. Average imput lag and lower response times than you're used to on pretty much every gaming display. I made this more detailed than necessary, but I have no regrets.

The slew of 32" QD-OLED 4K panels coming out are really tempting. The only thing that may be concerning are their potential usage as a PC monitor. I tend to leave my PC screen with sleep disabled or sleep after an extended period of time. Modern OLED panels are obviously more resistant to image retention than earlier panels, but it is still a possibility. The RTings experiment on image retention show that it tends to happen after several years with a consistent image. Maybe HUDs could be those consistent elements, but most people don't leave a game sitting idle while in-game for days at a time. But Windows, Linux, and macOS desktops are designed to have elements on screen almost all the time.
