my idea is to put a mechanic where players could like, exchange items or something in rocket league, maybe even exchange credits too. but it seems kinda out there, i don't think psyonix would add that

Let's be honest here, epic didn't really give us exactly what we asked for 😂 when you take away so much from a game and give only that, I feel like the backlash is well deserved. I would have liked that map 3 years ago. Now that map can go to hell, I want trading back, dropshot in competitive, and actual new and good content that isn't cosmetics. Once all this is done, I'll be happy to get a prettier version of an already beautiful map.

"Oh, that'll be 20 bucks by the way." -bying a cosmetic item in RL 2024

I thought of a cool rank reward yesterday: pregame spawn-in effects. When you leave a match, the lightning bolt appears where you car was. Imagine if that effect appeared with a 5 second intro of the team facing each other like you do with tournaments, and the cars spawned in eith their associated rank effect. Maybe cars would spawn in order to show off the effects or just all spawn at once. Each spawn effect would act like the lightning bolt, but of course be rank color dependent and get progressesively more flashy as the rank got higher. It would be something new as a reward, too, and since the assets exist already, probably would not be too hard to implement.

Yeah true but you could add something like top 100 or top 500. So it's not much of a new rank but more of a badge/rank hybrid. Thus you wouldn't need to add more ranks all the time. @@ChaoTix.S

would be cool if we got stat breakdowns like in other traditional sports games, and maybe better ai for single player/offline? based on the movements and patterns of players, would be really fun to mess around with and know how someone else plays. maybe custom demos, from bitcrushed explosions to an egg omelet, or reactive decals like in other games

((I'll repost my idea from reddit since it got swooped away lmao) An actual use for Blueprints: With trading now gone, the only two ways of getting a specific item that you want is either praying it appears in the store and spending double the price on it or getting EXTREMELY lucky and get it from a crate. Or you can use blueprints to craft the item but the issue is these options make it really shitty for f2p's to get items and I'm not talking about fancy items but car bodies. Basically the idea is, let's say you want a fennec and you're broke and can't get credits or you're from a country with no online purchases available, a way to make it a lil easier for free to plays but encourage them to grind the game is if having a specific amount of blueprints for an item would either slash down the price relatively to how many blueprints you have of that specific item or having let's a specific amount that if met, can craft the item for free. The amount of blueprints needed should be reasonable to the item's rarity. Uncommons having 15 blueprints of the same item to craft it for free, Very rares having 10, Imports 5 and Black Markets 3. Either that or they can implement a system that's like Tf2's crafting system where you can turn items into scraps and crafting parts to craft a certain item instead of just relying on trading up items that almost always give you anything that you want. TL;DR: Blueprints could stack, the more blueprints of the same item you have the less it costs to craft and eventually you could craft it without credits (and the blueprints get destroyed of course.) or implementing a crafting system where items require certain parts that can get from scrapping down existing items.

My idea for a goal explosion is the ball goes in and scores but shoots back out and turns in to a mini game of heatseeker until the ball goes in the net (idk what the 2nd explosion would be, maybe just standard, maybe you can equip a second explosion?). The ball would get progressively faster with every time the ball changes direction (faster than normal). The heatseeker goal won't be counted to any score obvs and most of the time everyone is down the scoring side of the pitch so the games usually wouldn't last very long the ball would just fly in to the opposite net and that's that, but for when there is someone back to make the save, it then turns in to a little game of heatseeker. It could definitely get tedious having like 5 games of heatseeker in a normal match but you could just always let it go in if you didn't want to play the mini game. What does everyone think?

I dunno how doable this is but custom demo explosions would be kinda cool. Perhaps a 60s Batman style “Bang!” or “POW!” for example

The goal explosion based on speed sounds great, the splash at 0-10km/h would finally make more sense than an air strike out of nowhere

I have an amazing idea: Option to automatically skip goal replays. If in the settings all players in a game have this feature enabled then all goal replays will be automatically skipped for the entire game.

Creative mode so everyone can play Leth’s game modes online

Gamemode idea: 3v3 with 2 balls. No goal explosion and no goal screen, you keep playing until the time's up. When 1 ball goes in, it shows back up after 10 seconds in the middle of the map. Maybe if the second ball goes in before the first ball respawns there could be an explosion and full reset. OR they could both show up TOGETHER instead of 10 seconds after they went in.

Goal explosion.... Where it looks like the game lags out and the ball bounces out of the net

It's even worse that all of these ideas are given to them for free, without even needing to hire someone to come up with them or brainstorm... and nothing has been or ever will be used. It doesn't make any sense. It would draw more people in to play, which in return would make them more money. That's the only thing they care about, anyway.. so why not?

See, I don't care for most goals explosions, there are a few cool ones, but most aren't worth it. PatrickN, I would buy both your goals explosions!!! This reminds me of the backlash when they introduced esports skins. Random players seemed to make better skins in a heartbeat, but Psyonix seems to settle for "that'll do", for some reasons that eludes me 🤔

Goal explosion - ball hits 10 pins for a strike. Rumble - ability to send or hit opponent that causes all inputs to be opposite for a period of time.

Even though rocket league would never add the plasma tech its would mostly solve the issue of Smurfs in ranked as you would have to put time into upgrading your car

A Mario Kart style drift boost mechanic would be amazing… A. It would encourage powersliding + B. It would unlock new ways to get creative with mechanics (maybe you could drift boost off the inside of your goal after a save to gain height quickly without using your jump etc.)

My idea is “ahem” to ad a system where people can trade items and maybe credits. Oh wait “cough” they already had one.

In my opinion, epic games should do some of these ideas if they want to rescue this game

Custom Demo Explosions

i got an idea so we get custom demo explosions so we dont just get the basic BOOM! explosion but also some other cool ones

An idea I have is that you can have custom quick chats so you can say you are a terrible player on controller without typing for 3 hours

Just a quick thought on quick chats, couldn't these be toggleable (ON/Off) for team so you decide how many of the four directions that should be hidden to opposing team, but still be able to interact with all players if desired.

My idea is a triangular field with 3 nets and 3 teams facing each other. You can score in either of the opposing nets, and either opponent can score on yours. Oh and 2 balls.

i think you should be able to spectate certain games showcasing a higher and lower skilled player (or evenly skilled). then you would be able to bet on whose gonna win, with credits or anything else, making the earnings more for the winner and spectator based on how likely it was for the player to win the match. if the players are evenly matched then i think the spectator shouldnt earn rewards but the players facing off would now have something to play for. could be hosted as a tourney or regular match but separate for ranked or cas. maybe even hosted by epic and its only once a day or something. i just wish we could spectate random games tbh, at least that.

Sorry guys but my goal explosion idea from yonks ago is the best, and that is that Psyonix teams up with Pokemon and each pokemon has their own goal explosion, so you not only have to catch 'em all but you also get to show everyone how cool you are when they see your MewTwo "Shiny" goal explosion and they only have Squirtle standard. This of course would have blown up the trading community 🙄

I think the reason psyonix and epic games don’t put in these great idea is because they aren’t very aware of just how much this game is capable of, if they could take their BILLIONS of dollars and put it to good use, we could get somewhere.

If the devs only had their passion to work on the game instead of barfing out old bundles. The community-driven game is gone, long gone, sadly. 8:49 I'd add "Nice defense", "Your fault" and "Rule 1 is to not drop the ball after 00:00".
