    I’ve used a big pop r for years and just learned how to walk one. Let me just say. It is way more affective when it walk it and it does better if you can walk it in place and pause. Thanks for all the info and videos. Love it. Keep it up.

    Thanks for another great video Randy. My nephew who fishes a few local tournaments, only uses the Zara Spook and really catches em at Lake Shasta in the post spawn. I fished with a Lucky Strike Gunfish 95 in a ghost shad color and was able to use a medium heavy spinning rod cuz the water was still pretty clear. I caught as many as my nephew did. I thought I hooked a giant before I saw it was about a 2 pounder that was fowled hooked on the side, like the spotted bass just took an aggressive swipe at it. LOL Nothing like catch'n em on topwater!!

    Sounds good have the MB Diamonte coming any day now. On another subject I was looking for a quick snack to take on the boat the other day and found Bridgford Smokehouse Sausage Sticks. Must have been some subliminal information going through my mind. Good stuff 👍

    Randy, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us. I'm kind of surprised that the Reaction Innovations Vixen is not on your list, most anglers that have used it think it's the best there is. I still have 2 Charlie Campbell Ozark Mountain Wood Walkers that I've never used. I'm going to do a lot of vintage lure fishing this year and it's on the list.

    I just got done watching your drop shot set up from a few days ago. I would really like to see how you fish a drop shot when casting. So many people have tips on a drop shot but don’t explain or show how to fish it back to the boat. I stay away from a drop shot just because I have no confidence in it due to I’m not sure if I’m actually working it right or not

    Brother Randy, Great movie! Quick question: Do you swap hooks on the spooks or, if your hooks need replaced, do you use the same "brand" hook or do you use a favorite treble hook, like Mustad or whatever brand? I'm not concerned, necessarily, what brand you might switch to, everyone has their favorite, but whether you switch hooks or stay with new Spook hooks. Thanks Dan

    Anyone got experience with the X-pod jr? I got a couple but haven't had the conditions to throw it yet. What do the lip positioning do to the action? Thanks

  • @AcumenTV

    @AcumenTV

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey Kyle, I have used a "gill" colored X-pod jr at Lake Shasta in Northern California in the post spawn. I fooled around with the lip and found that if you open it all the way and use like a walking stick bait it works best. I had several spotted bass attack it and caught a few so I know it works. I thought closing the lip would let me fish it like a wake bait but I didn't have any luck with that approach. It is cool lure though, maybe a little gimmicky.

    Disagree with all three to agree. If you use these against someone who is elite, you'll lose. That much I can tell you. Well, I do have a red trebel on my Plopper, but not bc Randy told me. Been doing it long before I heard of Randy. Round bend at a larger size on a white or light plopper. Let me teach you, the back hoom needs to be bigger but ocean grey ewg style, for the lure is a straight retrieve.

  • @wolverinex4243
    @wolverinex42432 жыл бұрын

    Zara Spook is too tiny for the average fish. It is also hard to walk like Megabass topwater bc the are back-weighted. Back weights also mean that the lure won't walk 1/3 of the last way in. The sounds or pitches out of these lures are not on point to draw fish. Don't ask me how I know. I just do. Keyword is early 90s. The evolution of topwater has cometh a long way since.

    there nothing new in my whole life in fishing lures i have showed all the new baits in granddad old tackle box.If no one ever got patent on lures anyone can do that i guess i dont understand that part..nobody has ever understood why they hit one bait an not the other looks exact the same but they do..i can take say spinnerbait just wind in bass all day long take the same one same color everything they want touch it.I have seen every bait like that rather its wood plastic dont matter.If we could figure that out we be millionaires hahahahahahha
