Cadillac has always had a special place in my heart. My family has owned them for years. I am also glad that that they finally incorporated the 33-inch screen from the Escalade! I also hope that they come out with a “V” version so we get that updated interior in a more potent package.

This is not the screen from the Escalade. That display is 38-inches across and OLED, like the Escalade’s taillights and DRLs. The Escalade is the only Cadillac that has this 38-inch OLED display with over 8,000 pixels they’ve managed to fit within the 3 separate screens. This 33-inch display is from the _Lyriq._ It isn’t OLED but it boasts a 9K resolution with over 9,000 pixels squeezed into it’s single screen. It certainly rivals the clarity of the OLED display you’ll find in the Escalade but it’s not the same thing at all.

It would then be the only V8 competitor to the upcoming V8 Hybrid M5 since the E63 is going straight-6 hybrid and Audi is going electric. It will be a sledgehammer in among a bunch of scalpels and we will love it just as much - or even more - as the current CT5-V Blackwing. Kinda wish we got Caddies. I like that they gave this the new wide screen inside. They said a few years ago that all the new Caddys would get it. Given that GM just revealed the Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia that are all-new, they will probably reveal a much nicer XT6 and XT5 on the same/similar platform with an all-new design very soon. Cadillac/GM unfortunately just doesn't plan on making major changes to the sedans anymore, so they needed to modernize it in the tech department in order to help it soldier on a bit longer.

The XT5 is on an ancient platform now in terms of the luxury segment, I’m surprised they haven’t even given it a major refresh cuz compared to the competition it simply isn’t appealing (besides maybe the price cuts you can get on it). But GM is also working on a new Midsize platform, so cadillac is probably gonna wait for those to put the new screens into.

Pretty decent overhaul of the front end but it really didn't need it. From the beginning of when first came to market, the CT5 looks pretty good from the front end but when seen from side or back view, it's a let-down. What needed a redo is everything aft of the B pillar. It's still a downhill ride in the visuals especially with that econo-car looking C pillar and cheap plastic insert thing-a-ma-jig! It's saddening how GM/Cadillac mucked up the Escala design language on the CT5.

No idea why the 325hp 2.7L isn't the base motor or at least available and why for the love of god is the V6 not available in sport trim???? Completely boggles my mind. I've driven the 2.0L a few times to try to convince myself that's its adequate because I REALLY like this car and want to buy one but the 2.0L is just so unsatisfying in a car of this type, size and price and its not terribly refined (not that the 2.7L is but at least it has lots of power) I keep holding out hope that 'next year' will be when they make the V6 sport available as I don't care for the Luxury premium trim look so I have walked out of my local Cadillac dealer 3 times now because I just can't justify $60K for a 237hp luxury sport sedan even though as a whole these cars are good value for $.

It's a minor update and, in my opinion, not enough. I still really dislike the c-pillar design; it looks cheap with the fake plastic & the kink that is unrelated to the rest of the design. As for it being a "3-box" sedan --- that third box needs to be more profound. It's too short & too rounded. The taillights are still droopy without a strong sense of definition; having quad exhausts doesn't resolve that. I'd rather have better taillights. I think that the CT5 suffers from having no "presence". I kind of like the new interior screen, but I agree with you that the old version is fine as is --- maybe even better. I really WANT to like a Cadillac sedan design, but this one pales compared to the concept cars they showed in the past (but never produced). It really needs more presence; it kind of looks like a Honda Accord.

Stunner is not the word i'd use to describe the CT5. Looks like a Lexus from the side view and the headlights are ugly. Maybe GM is trying to tempt potential customers away from Lexus.
