I own the new 2023 HS Trophy auto (Silver)and it is amaaaaaazing! Please ignore other comments here hating on the HS as understandably the older HS was poor compared to this updated version. Its super comfortable. Its definitely got a punch when accelerating. It looks amazing and all the features just make it even better! Quiet cabin. When driving in normal its smooth transmission but can see a less smooth experience in eco mode but still doesn't stop me driving in that to save the fuel. Its biggest downside is the MPG but on long distance driving in eco im reaching 45.5 mpg. The cruise control is a lifesaver! Getting in traffic has never been so relaxing also super easy to set up with its one button start and obviously to stop you just use the the break. Definitely recommend this car!

It's also an amazing deal on Motability as well. £795 for the Trophy automatic. At the moment, it's topping our shortlist. Would have gone back to Ford but I think I'd miss the Adaptive Cruise Control after having used it on our Skoda Karoq for the past 2+ years. Only downside is that the last time we considered an MG, the ZS EV, we were very restricted with the colours we could get under Motability (that horrible blue they need to ditch, or boring black or white), whereas other manufacturers do offer more choice.

I ordered an Urban gray auto in Trophy spec in Nov so still waiting for a delivery date. Best Motability car cost per Ever.

I do like the front design of the new HS, but I do prefer the old one a bit more. The old model has a nicer grille, just something about it is so nice!

Can't wait to collect mine at the end of this month 🤩 My hs trophy dct was already built and on route to the uk so didn't get much of a choice in colour. Cosmic Silver doesn't look to bad in my opinion and the red/black interior was also added as an optional extra which makes the car that little bit more stylish (inside anyway) so happy about that 😊 Good quirky review. cheers lee.

Congrats, how is your journey with the car going? I collect mine next week in a Silver too in the Trophy spec as well, but without the optional fake pleather red interior and instead the standard black leather interior, you'd think the optional red interior would be better in quality, not good on MG there. I don't mind the black anyway, red seats are for sports cars, not family SUV's in my opinion anyway.

I had a test drive in this model a week after it was first released, and spent a good few minutes checking out all of it's 'mod'cons' and in my opinion if you're lookng for petty faults to nit-pik with ANY car, you'll find something...even in a so-called 'luxury' car. But I can assure everyone, this is nice car. You have to be a bit sad to fault it in any way. The chinese have done well here, and have pretty much given it everything the modern car driver wants. I ordered mine (as a motability lease car) and collect it in September, but if you're considering buying this style of car and get confused on which brand to choose, believe me when I say- "save yourself tons of money yet get the same spec' (or in some cases better) as several other BIG names in the car trade". A lovely stress free drive.

I have the “previous” HS exclusive and love it. Can’t help thinking the refresh makes the car look a like Ford Kuga. Still a faster reacting head unit would be very welcome. Although you still lose the sunroof but do gain privacy glass. Still the best car value for money wise on the market, can’t see why you would buy anything else.

They don't have time for tea cos of the massive traction they've managed to get in recent years, they need to keep it up!

I'll be picking up a Trophy auto when it's in the country. I'm thoroughly looking forward to it. The test drive was lovely.

I collect my Trophy spec in Cosmic Silver next week, I have mine with the standard black leather seats as the red optional extra ones are pleather rather than leather and less in quality. I've driven the pre-facelift HS, it felt decent, I have driven over 2 dozen cars and drove more than a lot of cabbies in any given week in the last 6 years so it's fair to say I have had a decent amount of miles complete, those cars were anything from a Honda to a Jag to a VW to a Toyota and all fairly new or a few brand new so when you say this feels slightly better made than the pre-facelift and from my exp. with cars...I look forward to having this. Whats the mpg I have 73 plate mg hs trophy 1.5 t gdi and mine is 28.5 mpg and im not happy with it its only done 430 miles

We pick ours up on Friday (15th Sept) we went for the MGHS Trophy (manual) and cant wait. Its a Motability car and will replace a Ford grand Cmax Titanium. It was ordered as soon as MG released the new version.

Really? How long did you have the C-Max? I thought Ford had stopped providing it on motability a while ago. It was our first motability car in 2015. Loved the design of the middle row, especially the way the middle seat could be folded away to effectively turn it into a mini-bus with a central walkway. We moved onto the Ford Galaxy after that, which was even better. How are you finding the HS? It's currently topping our shortlist.

We got the last one in 2018 and because of COVID we got to keep it for 5 years! The HS is great, The biggest criticism is the rear view mirror is to low and gets in the way turning left. Its nothing I cant deal with and may just be because I'm 6'3".

@@TheMrShinagami I'm thinking of going for the trophy auto because of the extra toys. I would have gone back to Ford but I'm now too used to having adaptive cruise control, which is an expensive extra on Fords these days. Shame they dropped the C-Max from their lineup, though. Would be ideal if we wanted to take the grandkids anywhere. When we had the C-Max, we just had one. All of a sudden, we have four.

Beautiful moter inside and out my 73plate HS se 15turbo love it,likes to drink petrol but it's worth the ride great car

Very nice looking car, love that red interior, if I was given the choice, would get mg hs trophy in black or dark grey with the red leather interior in 6 speed manual, i hear the automatic is jerky as hell round town an then noisy out on open road, manual sounds like safer bet but id happily have one of these, at moment i happy with my diesel jeep renegade which ive had about 4 months 👌👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

You missed a critical point. Does the updated MG HS still surge when you touch the accelerator from a standing start?

Does it have front parking sensors? My 22 plate HS doesnt and its quite annoying.

It doesnt seem to, I got it as a courtesy car today. I usually have a zs which has 360 cameras this only seems to have a rear camera an shoddy sensors compared.

@8175sc it says there is a front camera which I believe there is to a degree as it reading speed signs and has lane asist etc but nothing to help with parking or when I use my indicator cameras do not pop up like they do in my zs.

@@roxiepeters7533 yh front camera is for collisions but not parking as silly me hit a bollard that was reg plate height so didn't see it 🤦🏻‍♀️

I've driven a couple of these & they aren't overly inspiring . Built cheaply which shows. Too many appear to get issues. Plenty of very low Km late models with remaining warranty now on the 2nd hand market in Australia as dealers try & avoid trading them as 2nd hand vehicles . Some dealers here require a disposal fee from the seller which can be up to 10% of the trade in price. Better cars out there .

I visited your KZread channel and saw that your KZread channel is very beautiful, but there are many problems that I am trying to find out, one of them is SEO, rank tag, and tag volume, you have not completed them.

I mean check MG’s website and spec the new model out for yourself. The PHEV is not out yet and perhaps when it does come out it will be that price but as of writing the most you can spend on the website is what’s stated in the video

@@peakproofuk The pronunciation of it as 'aitch is the error and one that's seemingly developed over the past couple of centuries through local dialects that are often lazy. All letters in the alphabet have something in them which clearly defines them as meaning that letter (although some are borderline). By dropping the H, there's nothing to signify what letter the word belongs to. You may as well call it the "letter ahrok". Think about it ... aitch is a lot less effort to say than haitch.

My partner and myself had an HS on hire for a week on a holiday in France, it was OK it was an Automatic with FWD, the gearbox on the HS was hard to get used to, it has a delayed action you put your foot on the gas pedal and there is a noticeable delay in it moving off making it frustrating at junctions when you need to pull out quickly it also judders when you slow down in slow moving traffic from a standstill its noisy car nd the cabin gets quite boomy inside that probably because the car is underpowered. I did not really rate the interior quality that much the fixed head restraint on the front seats gave us both neck ache, not sure if it was leather either, which really suits me as I am not a fan of Leather seats in cars , I guess you get what you pay for, it is really a cheap holdall of a car and I know the rental firms on the continent hire these out a lot the rental company we used had a fleet of them all in white. Our own personal car at home is a 2020 Honda CRV , the HS can not even compare in quality to it or for the driving experience, so its not even up there with our mid spec CRV that's nearly three years old, you get what you pay for I would say £23k is about right for this car because its not a well built car, However it did get us around on our holiday with no issues and it ate up the miles on the auto routes and a short trip into Germany for a day the cruise control system is from the 90s its on a separate stalk under indicator stalk its not a hands free set up so you need to take one hand off the wheel to set it and cancel it and resume it, I think that is just bad design and not safe you would think they could have built it into the steering wheel design, just antiquated in 2023 , don't think I would fancy one out of warranty I suspect it would start to develop expensive issues so really its a throw away car that will not hold its resale value much so it will suit the PCP lease market where people change cars every few years perfectly. Not a car I would buy with my own cash.

I have heard that about it when it comes to the auto gearbox. It's weird that it's underpowered, considering it's a 160hp, which is slightly more than most family cars of that size. We had a Ford Galaxy with leather seats. Best car we had but I completely understand the issue. In the winter, they'd be freezing until the heating element warmed them up. In the summer, they'd get ridiculously hot. That had a 2.0litre diesel with 150hp and you could feel when the turbo kicked in. But it generally had no trouble with overtakes and it was brilliant for dual-carriageway and motorway cruising. 0-62 was actually virtually identical to the HS auto. And that felt powerful enough.

When it comes to MG I think they get a bit of a bad wrap ....not everyone can afford to go out a buy a Peugeot 3008 , hyundi tuscon , kia sportage , VW allspace or tiguan ....the MG HS and ZS's models are roomy big family cars to get the kids to school get to work and get the shopping and really that's all most folk need ..so what if they're not the greatest cars in the world they do the job they're made for

Am planning to buy MG because its value for money. I wanted Nissan qashqai but l have realized that its waste of money.

I've had a MG ZS. Don't buy and MG. it's cheap, and it's drinks fuel like everyday is the hottest day on the planet. Averaged 28-32mpg

It’s a crap car , I’d go as far to say it’s possibly mgs worst car. Basically anything MG currently makes that isn’t full ev is terrible, because aside from the shared with all mgs poor build quality and awful after sales support, on top of that with the non ev’s you now get the rubbish engines, terrible gearbox and also poor economy. Oh and the boot is tiny so please don’t say it’s big.

We've already got a two year old VW Tiguan and have just taken delivery of a brand new HS Trophy. Only had it a few days but so far enjoying the experience. Infotainment seems a bit dated and not as easy to move through as the VW. Not taken it out through country lanes yet so can't comment on it's handling there. But around town it's a lovely ride and in many respects it rides over the poorly kept roads more comfortably than the Tiguan. Certainly deals with speed humps in a nicer way. Inside feels lovely and the use of materials isn't far off in terms of touch and feel to the VW. Front seats are really comfortable and I've already found it easier to get a comfy seating position than I did with the Tiguan. The kids have said the rear seats seem very reclined although all three of them have said it seems bigger in the rear. The same can be said with the boot which is again much larger than the Tiguan. I went into the MG dealership not really expecting a great deal as I based my expectations on the first of the Chinese offerings from the brand. Really really impressed with the paint finish. So smooth with zero orange peel effect and the panel gaps look to accurate tolerances. So far............both hugely impressed with it and very very surprised how they have upped their game. I also can't believe what you get for the price either.
