Thanks for another great review. Keep on, Keepin On. The weather has made the change to winter temps average temps this week is in the low 30's Let it snow let it snow let it snow..
My daily-driver here in northern VT. Such a fun board, and it’s true; it’s a Swiss Army knife- rails carves (& I came up riding PJ’s with Megaflexes in the late 80’s/early 90’s), loves sidehits, floats pow, and never gets bogged down. I’d back a sintered base version though, and I do love Mervin, but get some structure into that base!
Bought this board last year based on your review. My go to for steep pow and trees. I am not a fan of most lib techs cambers, but the C3 on this board is magic to me.
I tried this board on a test. On spot review. Do not hesitate if you get the chance.
Thank you for your honest reviews. You saved me $559 + tax because I went with the Dynamo over the dead lifeless Skate Bananas board. Subscribed.
I’ve been on this board for 3 seasons now. I have a lot of other boards, but the Dynamo tends to be my go to most of the time.
Picked up the Dynamo on your recommendation 2 seasons ago and it crushes any conditions on the Ice Coast, especially icy hard pack…….last year when we actually had snow.
Couple of the funnest pow runs of my life were on this deck. She's a fun one for sure
I got the Dynamiss (women’s version) based on your past review and from your recommendation through the live stream (thanks Angry). I freaking love this board. Your description of “all mtn free ride with freestyle flair” 💯 also yes, this thing plows through ev-ery-thing If any of you is thinking bout it, just get it.

great board w/ the transfers
Just bought this board went from a Custom 158w Flying V. It rides amazing, floats on powder and cuts thru ice! I love going back and fourth from switch and it does very well for a slightly directional board. Curios about how it does on rails, but we shall see. Can’t wait to hit more mountains with it.

Hey bud, I just picked this thing up too, and also coming from a 2013 custom Flying V. I’m switching boards because the custom felt very unstable at speed as well as extremely loose on hardpacked/Icey trails. Would you say this board is better than the custom in those areas?

@@louenos5715 just rode 7 days in Colorado in all conditions and it’s one of the best all around boards I’ve ever ridden. Copper was particularly icy and it cuts so well. Ice is no match for this board if you’re used to ice. I’m from the NE so I’m used it.
Never tried mervin c3 profile before but I like the looks of this one.😎

How did you like the board.. any report:)
Good morning, sounds like a fit for my riding; but I'm only a solid intermediate, maybe plus, so it may be a bit too much board for me, not sure. I'm also looking at the Jones Frontier. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. ( I mainly like carving, exploring, and venturing off piste. icy resort. I like the smashing the crusted chunder qualities of a boar.)
I take this board in the park and it handles it just was well as anything else.
Most of my boards are around 160ish, 220 size 11 boot, which size is best for me? 162, 59w? Or 62w?
How does this one compare to the lib rig and vice versa? Also how does this board handle deep powder?
I demo'd a bunch of mervin boards last year. Generally I prefer full camber, but I try to keep an open mind. For the most part, I don't like the c2 and C3 boards because they feel too loose. They want to skid turns rather than carve. This one locks in on-edge a lot easier than the other c3 boards I tried. It is smooth and feels solid at high speeds. I think it's a great choice for somebody who isn't religiously dedicated to full camber and also likes the mage-traction. Great board!

I work at a shop in Bend and just picked up the new Dynamo. Was riding the stump ape 163 all season last year (in the few powder days we had) but I rode our Dynamo demo the rest of the time. Loved it, that's why I bought it. I've been running Rome DOD but am thinking cartel x. Thoughts?

What’s the flex of this compared to the Standard Uninc?

Looking for a direct comparison to the K2 Passport, are they essentially the same ride and feel with a slight edge hold going to the Dynamo and a slightly better float going to the passport? Both look awesome and I am torn. Sizing for the Dynamo I am looking at either the 159 or the 162 and pretty much locked on the 160 for the passport. ~210LBs 9.5 boot
@AngrySnowboarder
Жыл бұрын
No. The Dynamo is a damper ride with less reactivity from the carbon in it meaning it doesn't have as much snap and power out of a deep carve. The nose is a hair stiffer on the Passport but that can send kinetic vibrations back when you charge into uneven terrain.
I am going to pick this up. I wont be spending anytime in the park, I will do some low key freestyle stuff around the mountain, but primarily just looking to make some hard turns. (Mid 40s dad) I am torn between the Union Strata or Bent Metal transfer to go with it.... The transfer is in a pacakge deal at EVO so roughly the same cost for either set up. Thoughts?

The dynamo is incredible compared to other boards in the line. I really think the thick textured topsheet adds to the longevity of the board. Aged Libtechs are notoriously floppy yet my 2021 dynamo is still ripping. From all the Jones, K2 and Lib/gnu I've tried this board is about as powerful as one can feel while still being "playful." A great progressional board for a intermediate rider looking to grow. In the hands of an advanced rider this is a scalpel that won't fight back. In short, dont buy this board, keep it cheap for me.
I appreciate all the reviews and videos you put out as someone new to the sport! I’ve got 3 days under my belt and am ready to stop renting and buy a a board. Hey Angry,I’m riding a gnu impossible that still has life because I only get 5-10 days a year but I’ve had it since 2015 and I’m thinking about a new ride. Would the dynamo be better,worse or about the same?

Thanks for the reply. Not that it means it’s remarkable,but at the time it was one of their most expensive boards. I bought mine on sale in the summer. I’ve enjoyed riding it but I’m guessing you think the dynamo would be an improvement?
Hey what are your thoughts about this board compared to the nitro dropout?

It's more directional, more damp, has a different camber profile, sidecut, and flex.
Hey @angry could you help me out. 5’9 135 lbs. 10.5 boot. What should I get
@AngrySnowboarder
7 ай бұрын
That 10.5 is going to need at least a midwide, not sure the 53 is wide enough.
How’s it going Angry respect the hell out of your reviews! I’m torn between the Dynamo and the new TRS with the C3. I like the twin profile in the TRS but Ive heard nothing but good about the Dynamo. I’m 39 and love carving and just bombing down the mountain. Not into doing any tricks just holding an edge. Which would you go with? I’m 6’2” 220lbs with a 14 boot so I was thinking 160w on either one.

The carve dynamics are different as it's not a volume shifted board. It has a little less power out of the tail but a smoother long haul carve if that makes sense. Dampness it's very similar to the Gremlin.

Rode the 65w today and this board has some serious grip and is extremely fast. Pretty sure I should have gotten the 59w or 62w though as it’s feels like I’m driving a race bus.
