The 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness Is A Pleasant Driving Lifted Station Wagon

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

For many years, #Subaru owners have been adding more ground clearance and bigger wheels and tires to their Outback's for years. For 2022, the company decided to give them what they want with the 2022 #SubaruOutbackWilderness. The #OutbackWilderness comes with the factory lift kit and all-terrain tires owners wanted, but with the necessary transmission, suspension, and safety calibrations to give this car not all extra capability off the pavement, but more safety on the road while preserving the factory warranty. Expect to see more Subaru's get the #Wilderness package in the future.

Maybe I'm one of the few but I really love the fact that my Outback (2021 XT Onyx) is a WAGON. It's carlike but has all the utilitarian features of an SUV, and I think its shape is much more attractive. I really enjoy the wagon aspect of it.

So I found the beeps annoying on my 2020 outback. I lower the volume to the lowest level that’s still audible but it’s far less infuriating. My partner used to yell at me to stay in my lane when he heard the beep and then he got a 2018 outback so now I gave him all the grief he gave me when he drives because now he realizes how easy it is to trigger the system. So I think as long as you lower the volume level of the warning sounds most people will be OK and will tune it out. Keep up the amazing reviews.

Most people that bash the Subaru CVTs have never driven one, and they're just parroting what some idiot has written, or their punk friend or relative told them. I've owned a '22 Outback XT since July '21, and the CVT? No problems, no nothing. Natta. Zilch. If you can drive a car or SUV with a conventional automatic transmission without having mental problems, then you won't have any issues with the Subaru CVT. In fact, unless you drive like a stomp 'n stab the gas/brake pedals idiot, you won't even notice the difference.

Owned a '17 Outback "Limited" with the gutless 2.5i 4 banger. No power, 0-60 in forever. CVT that hung the engine out in high rev's constantly. Cold weather starts it sounded like a bag of BB's being slung around a metal bucket. Barely managed 24mpg on the highway. "Harmon Kardon" system was a joke. Windshield cracked while parked outside on a hot day. Stupid reverse sensors would stab on the brakes if you backed out of a driveway with any angle at all. I was so glad to get rid of it.

I'll still wait to see what the Forester Wilderness has to offer though. I'm on my third Forester and I think the better visibility and shorter overall length make it more suitable for me than the Outback. My only gripe is that protruding branches scratch the paint on narrow logging roads. It doesn't seem to take much.

@@elsaandnoah I wrote my initial comment before the specs on the Forester Wilderness were known and I wanted to wait to test drive it. But when I brought my 2019 Forester Limited in for a routine oil change last September, the dealer made me an "offer I couldn't refuse" on a trade-in for the '22 Outback Wilderness. He said he couldn't offer the same trade on a Forester Wilderness, which wouldn't be available until the spring, so I went for it. Perhaps it's the tires, but the ride is not quite as good or quiet as my old Forester, but it's perfectly fine. The Forester Wilderness doesn't come with the turbo engine, and now that I have it, I wouldn't give it up. The touch screen however is another story. I really miss the intuitive knobs and buttons of my previous vehicle.

It performed well beyond my expectations! It was also full of dog hair and slobber - again - happy! I refer to my rescue as my Subaru Dog - I just got her 18 months before the Subaru!!
