Good news. It's very safe and crashes like a tank. Received 5 stars in all categories and in crash prevention. Scored high in the side pole test which really hard to pull off (tesla suv is best class in that)Best in class interior, space, looks and now high 5 star crash ratings!! So far loving it!! Stress free and practical and luxurious. Safety for my 2 year son and family is the most important!

Not really, cage was rated as Acceptable for crash tests. Not really a tank there buddy.

I thought I would never be the mom with a minivan but I think I’ve changed my mind. This car is freaking beautiful. I’m hoping that this will come in AWD soon!!!

Just test drove a Carnival! Didn’t even feel like I was driving a big 8 passenger the ride was so smooth. Accelerated great for when I need to get on and off the highway. Took your advice and brought my stroller, baby car seat, all my other baby crap, and set everything up as if it were ours to see how it all fit. AMAZING SPACE! The trunk with the 3rd row up made my Vista stroller look like a small umbrella stroller there was so much extra space. Beyond impressed! The husband and I decided this will be our new car when we car shop later this year.

I love your reviews. As a dad with 2 kids, your reviews are the one I sadly relate to the most. (I wanna relate so bad to Supercar Blondie but that's a whole other lifestyle.) I love Joe Raiti and Doug and Canada's Throttle House, but your reviews are great in regards to practicality.

That center console is almost a deal breaker. I don't even want a center console. I like the option of ripping the thing out and having a passage way or a spot to stick large items between the seats. On road trips I like to keep a cooler in the middle full of food and snacks. The Carnival setup will inevitably lead to bags and purses on laps and impeding leg room. I think the only van with a removable console now is the Odyssey. It's nice to be able to easily access the back as a parent without leaving the vehicle.

I love the details your paying attention to! I'm a mom of 3, they're older, but your details are extremely helpful and useful.

Kia should be paying you. I have called numerous locations trying to find a carnival and they are selling like hot cakes. One dealer told me he has seen an increase in Carnival sales since your video. He literally said people are coming in and saying they watched car mom's kia carnival video and they want one. Now I can't find one! Haha.

I watched it and I don't plan on buying a minivan OR have kids. I can honestly say it's a nice review of the vehicle! Very well presented!

This car is amazing! Torn between this and the Toyota Sienna. The Sienna is a hybrid standard and that’s my biggest pull towards it...but this car is super affordable, beautiful with so many great features! I’m glad you did a tour on one ❤️

Tough call indeed. I don’t like how the second row seats aren’t easily removable in the new Sienna, or how tech limited the lower end models are, but after renting one for a weekend trip and getting 45mpg it’s really hard to go for anything else.

So many 2022 kia carnival review videos and this is literally the only one that is worth watching. If you’re looking at this car you’re probably a parent so Thank you for looking at it from a parents perspective (mom amenities, room, car seats) and not from a Motorhead perspective. I mean how others review this thing and dont put car seats in and a stroller in the back is beyond me. And for those reviewing the sx prestige, parents dont need the “dental chairs”! Lol. Btw love that you don’t shy away from loving and hating parts of the vehicle! Love it! Subscribed.

The name grew on me..It’s a fun car, and so is a Carnival. I also like the silver detail. Hearse are just station wagons. So it gives that wagon kind of feel. I like it!

We just bought the deep chroma blue carnival LXS in September. This is my 3rd Kia van. First brand new one. The day we bought it & pulled in our driveway the check engine light came on! Took it back the next day & they said it was a problem with a fuel injector. They scheduled me to bring it back up the next week to leave it over night. They gave us a loaner to drive. They called us a few days later & said because it is a 2022 there are no parts in the country & there is no ETA on the parts! Ugh! They had my van for a month & I finally got it back last week! Yay! Lets hope & pray nothing else goes wrong! I still love it though! Also my neighbor just said yesterday, "I see you got the hearse back!" 😂😂

Are you able to get access to the third row to assist with buckling if there are two car seats in the 2nd row bucket seats? Can’t slide the seat forward since the car seat hits the front seat. Can you slide it back enough to fit back there?

@@thendino1 That vehicle doesn't have a top tether in seating positions 2C or 3D, limiting car seat placement options. That ruled it out for me.

This is the first Mini Van that i can even bear to L👀k at…. I like what i see already.

it was the ONLY minivan I considered buying and I did lol very satisfied in SX trim. I was previously considering the Genesis GV80 or BMW X5 and this was far more convenient.

@@Lauradiane24 We spoke to our local dealer!! We test drove one but needed a different trim with 8 seats. Contact them and ask if they know and if not have them keep you in the loop! They will know some time in advance. We put down a deposit to reserve ours. HOWEVER, ours came in and they notified me that there has already been a recall for a fuel line issue on certain VINs and Kia issued a stop order on them. They are waiting for the parts to arrive from Korea via boat and it will take another 2-3 weeks!! My car is just sitting on the lot calling my name and I can’t take it home until it’s fixed! 😭 Fingers crossed its worth it! Better be, haha. I absolutely loved how it drove! I test drove the new Sienna’s but they just didn’t do it for me. Didn’t even compare! [From a former ‘08 Sienna mom.] Good luck!!

Love our Carnival. I agree with all your issues about the outside and inside of the vehicle. But the car is a joy to drive and the kids are quiet and comfortable.

Videos are getting noticeably so much better!

Idk if anyone else commented this and I hope you found it out by now, but the middle seats have a quick access latch on the back bottom side of the seat to push the chair forward and also recline the seat forward so you can enter super easy so you don't have to squeeze into it...

We just got our Carnival EX due to the customer canceling the order. After we signed the papers we saw we got a free upgrade with the rear entertainment package. This car is amazing.

That is so nice. You can watch little Harriet sleeping while your driving. I bought a 2022 Telluride yesterday. Im very curious to know does it have that feature. Havnt finish reading the owners manual yet. Thats a beautiful van. Congrats on your Carnival

I was going to buy a Honda Odyssey until I saw this one. We test drove a LXS last night and LOVED the drive of it. Super smooth and easy. And the visibility in this car is outstanding. Going to test drive an SX as we speak but currently thinking we will purchase an EX from the website. Thanks for sharing with us!!

We did the same, odyssey test drive. For me the screen on Carnival was awesome but center console on odyssey is better. Odyssey looks like soccer mom, Carnival looks cooler. Price on Carnival is better. We chose Carnival EX.

@@Ruby-um1ds I wouldn't touch a Odyssey right now. They are due for a facelift, which will dramatically reduce the resale value when the new design comes out. The current look has been around for a few years now with almost no real facelift.

We have a 2021 platinum Toyota Sienna 🔥 it’s the best doesn’t even look like a mini van I got the black out tires so it soooo sporty highly recommend 🙌🏻 I get compliments daily!

I’m a single mom of 4 young kids. I bought this car in September 2021 to replace my 2007 GMC Yukon. I wasn’t expecting to like it at all. I test drove it and it didn’t feel like a minivan or too low to the road. I love the cargo space. My kids love having space between each other and at the time, we had 4 carseats. I’m down to 3 booster seats now. Absolutely love it and recommend it to anyone. It even got my dads approval that I picked a good car.

My wife loves this car, so we're planning on going to Kia in hopes they have enough in stock. This is definitely a road trip type of vehicle. Thanks for the vid!

I absolutely adore my Sorento but I’ve just informed my husband that I will be trading it for one of these. Wow! I show dogs….BIG dogs. I need more cargo space but I just am not ready to be a “mom in a minivan”. This seems to be the perfect combination of SUV and minivan. LOVE it.

So glad I saw this review! My wife may consider a dreaded minivan now with our 3rd child on the way since the carnival doesn’t look like a minivan and has so many awesome features. Related, I noticed you’re in St. Louis. It’s not a traditional family car but if you want a Tesla model 3 to review, you could borrow ours. I’m sure there are others in the Tesla club that would let you review their X or Y.

Excited for mine! My SX is coming next month. I hate that chrome part on the c pillar too so I plan to bleach it out

You can reverse the center seat backwards & you can pull a car seat in the center seat closer to the front to reach for your baby

The second row seats can face backward also. I watched Kia’s video, in Korea you can get an 11 seater, fourth row.

Thank you for the review. I enjoyed Kia's previous generation of van as well. I thought it had excellent and modern fit and finish, as well as the SUV blended with a van styling that I suppose we could credit Chrysler with for doing first (original Pacifica as opposed to their own Caravan, etc.). I thought Kia nailed it last time, but this is gorgeous. In the previous iteration they had a chief of design they had recruited from Audi. The new products from Kia Hyundai are even more gorgeous, and stunningly modern. You can put this attractive van at the top of my list for test drives. As for the name? It doesn't bother me, but I see no reason why they couldn't have kept the name for their van in place. The 'Carnival' name seems to go with 'Caravan', but I don't know how much appeal that has to buyers who are currently young enough to need to purchase a family van, no disrespect to the legacy of the Chrysler van or it's current incarnation. It just seems like this ultra modern gem of an MPV that is a deserving part of Kia Hyundai's striking new lineup could have a Korean model name as unique as it is, or something more inline with the rest of their nomenclature. On a side note, I'd love to see a Hyundai version of this van.

The vehicle is on my short list, happy they went with the removable second row so you can completely turn it into a cargo van. Would really like to see an all wheel drive version with WiFi would make me pull the trigger.

What did you think about the triple track setup for the second row? You can put the third down down and move the second row middle chair all the way to the back. It’s an interesting configuration.

SUV vibes from the exterior + minivan features on the interior? Love it! My only concern (with any minivan) is that it would feel like driving a bus. How was the drive?

I test drove one last night and it was an amazing drive. Super smooth and easy. It didn’t feel long and school bus like at all (that’s comparing it to other minivans I’ve test drove recently). Seriously the drive of the car was 10/10 in my book.

My Husband and I are going to buy this next month, before our 3rd is born in August. We also looked at the Odyssey. There were two things that won him over. The fact that it's packed with technology and the back vents are located on the ceilings. During long hauls, he'll sit back there with the kids, but he's also the type of person who doesn't do well in anything hot. He needs his cold air, and that was what turned him off with the Odyssey. I'm also planning on getting Kia's 10 year extended warranty, because that is how long we plan to have it.

If you're planning to use the third-row regularly, my recommendation is not to get the top trim with those lounge chairs. It's tough to get to third row on the top trim.

Seriously check out the Pacifica, yeah it looks more minivan but the fold down seats is a game changer for loading kids in the back.

I actually like it. This is the only reviewer that doesn't like it. There are many videos on KZread of the Carnival. To each their own!

I just bought the SX in Flare Red. The website doesn't do the red justice. People were actually taking pictures of it when I took delivery! It is gorgeous. The MPV is very comfortable and drives well. I have small grandkids and this will enable us to take the kids and their staff with us in one vehicle! I traded a 2019 Sorento EX in for this. This is so much better! Two things that drive me nuts about KIA. They didn't put an auto-dimming mirror or heated steering wheel in a $43,000 vehicle. You have to go all the way to the $47,000 SX Prestige to get it. Same for the sunroof (which I wouldn't use anyway). I realize you are doing the mom review, but you didn't even drive it. How is this a complete review?

Ive gone 19 years avoiding the minivan. I still have a 15y.o son at home so I’m thinking the Carnival is nice for transporting teens. However, the mediocre 3rd row clearance to exit is a flaw. Its an important feature to consider, so I may hold off.

What are the pros/cons of building your own car features vs. looking for what’s in stock on the lots?

Im obsessed with this van ! I noticed they made the LX more spacious and practical than the SX edition which is kind of backwards based on the price. I would go with the cheaper one for sure you get the same features minus tv and recliners ..kids have tablets so not missing much

Checking out reviews for this minivan/MPV and came across yours.. really liked your offering. Nice and thorough with stuff that no one else points out (hearse comparison, funny). Really thorough. I agree, the name could have been better.. but apparently, it's the global name to keep everything consistent. Also, really liked your build- your- vehicle options at the end. Never see that from anyone else. Great way to share the trim levels and cost. Great review!

@The_Car_Mom How did you get the infant carseat to fit in the 3rd row? I have twin 2 yr olds and expecting a third soon. I want to put the toddlers in the 2nd row and I'm struggling to figure out how to get my click-in seat in and out of the back through the narrow opening between the door and 2nd row seat even when sliding it all the way up (I just looked at an LX, is the EX or SX longer?). The toddlers will have just turned three when the baby is born and will be forward facing so I don't think I can tilt the seat and I am too short to load the infant seat from the back unless I just keep a step stool in the cargo :/ I really want the Carnival to work - I'm in love with that child view camera! Any advice appreciated.

Great video ! That trim you dislike on the rear exterior of the van, I would compare it to a Chevy suburban type design as opposed to a hearse. Really not that bad looking more like a limo type design

Okay, first off, I love all of your reviews and have also really enjoyed following along on your Instagram 🤩 We got the EX trim and it has the same rear entertainment system as the 2021Telluride rather than what is advertised for the 2022 Carnivals. No one at the dealership seems to have answers as to why they are different. The entertainment system advertised for the Carnival has a kids mode which we were super excited for but ours doesn’t have it. Any idea as to why this may be?

So... Which do you like more? the Toyota Sienna Hybrid or Kia Carnival? any plan for comparison review?

I was going to get the Atlas, but now I think I want to just save up and get this. Seriously sold me.
