Just received my 53 a week ago. I love it. Boy does it turn heads. Mine is black with red and black nappa for the interior. I have the red brake calipers and the running boards light up. Going to get the star to light up as well in the front just have to take it in for that feature. It was supposed to come with but due to our buddy Covid; shit happens. Everyone should get this car if you can...I love mine and it has a TON of power but I can't utilize it all until after the first 1000 miles I have to let the engine break it first.

You can simply adjust the aggressiveness, pitch, and range of the sensors in the infotainment. The brake intervention can be switched off. You can turn off all the safety systems by simply asking the car to do it. Also, you can turn off the voice control. Almost no one buying this car (or any other Mercedes-Benz with MBUX) will have the problem you had with the voice assistant, because almost no one ever says the car brand's name while inside the car, unless they are talking about it...which is rare, and it can be turned off. Just saying.

Just open the panoramic sunroof shade to let in more Sunlight to brighten up the interior cabin. The rear window doesn't have nothing to do with the interior being dark.

I agree with you about the sensors on the car

I got a new GLE right as we went into lockdown at the beginning of April. I custom ordered it in December. Mine is a SUV 450 and I ordered a lot of options. I love it. It’s a great vehicle. My opinion is most people don’t need to spend the additional 10,000 just to have an AMG version. Mine is 6 cylinders and 362 hp. Gets to 60 in 5.5 seconds. Anyway nice review! I do agree that the parking sensors are a bit too intrusive though. They beep too much.

We have a GLE450 Coupe right now, you are %100 right, you don’t need the 53. The 450 with amg exhaust is a riot to drive. We are currently in the process of trading in the 450 for the newer GLE53. I like the 53 just because it adds extra sport luxury.

Personally I’d only take the AMG version for the AMG exterior it gives

I have the midnight package and I love my G53...the overall drive is comfortable and it feels fast. Best decision ever!

I like it how he cries about word "Mercedes" activating voice control in the Mercedes car. I'm wondering if he would also cry if car could fly after pressing "FLY BUTTON"

I just picked mine up last weekend. 11/21/20. I love it so far. At night its crazy. I got a pretty loaded pkg at 104k. Its a head turner. My neighbors are super Jelly. Your review helped my decision choice. I looked at this and X5. 50I.

Dope! I just placed an order on a custom build last week - didn’t fully load it but got most of the essentials at around 90k. Did you build or take from available inventory? I’m hearing wait times(order,production, delivery)are around 3 months but curious what yours was like. Also glad you mentioned night driving, I’m hype for that ambient lighting - looks like a spaceship. Any other early thoughts as you continue breaking it in? Id love to hear more about it - Peace bro!

@@mattvandrick Hi Mark, I live in Southern California and the loaded ones are pretty much slim pickings. The build is so crazy. The seats are friggin 4k. And its like pick and choose what you want the most. I wanted HUD and drive unit buttons, and that package doesn't have the exhaust. But I got the carbon fiber inlets. I am happy with my pkg but it did tople out to 104k. The fully loaded ones are like 99-111 but you can get some nice builds at 98k. Shop around get the one you want at this price point!!! Hella expensive, but there are only few on the road. Your presence is very envious while driving down the road. I am getting a ceramic coat next. Its just too expensive to get scratched up.

@@mattvandrick Yes I took from inventory but had to drive a hour up north to get it. I am a avid fan of AutoTrader. And I’ve been polling the dealerships for months. The build I got is unique for the one distributed on the west coast. It was only 2 items I didn’t get. Again at this price point get what you want. I kept my KIA Stinger as my daily driver and now my neighbors think I’m selling dope. Like that song lol. Seriously. I love the car. So much fun and I have only seen one on the road. They are rare. Feels good to be the King. Lol

Yeah I would not want carbon ceramic brakes unless I was planning on spending multiple days per year competing on a racetrack. And if someone chooses a GLE for that task then they've got bigger issues.

You are wrong. The AMG 53 denotes a new generation 3.0 litger I-6 engine utilizing a straight six with electrical driven turbocharger with zero lag. Additionally, there is new trick adaptive suspension. This is brand new technology presented to the public by Mercedes.

​@Ahmed Tupajic Glad you brought that up. C63S is a newer refreshed model than M4. New M4 comes out later this year and it will be faster. You know why? Because the M340i (which price wise competes with the C43) is as quick as a C63S now already. Also you're just trying to change the subject because on the X6 vs GLE AMG, the X6 is clearly quicker.

The back design of this 2021 model is ugly. The 2018/2019 model has better design of the back.
