Cars these days look boring, the same boring colours like, black, white, silver, grey.. so always great to see bold cars like blue and red cars. Colours should come back.

The way I see it, you should never take it to the workshop on the way. The problem is not this car which, after all, has soon passed 200,000 kilometers. But that's people's treatment of cars. Maintenance is also an important thing, the timing belt should be changed in time, just in time. Oil, gearbox oil, antifreeze, spark plugs, filter etc. With these measures, the car will probably last another 100,000. I bought a Clio yesterday, an Renault Clio 5-door hatchback 1.2 Expression 75hp 2004 model that has done 100,000 kilometers. When it comes to the electrical, here too it is important not to let things run their course. Try to reset, take it to a dealer where they can search for the problem(s). You can also search for problem solutions on youtube and other places on the web. There are also a number of interest forums for this car. But treat your car with respect and care. It's easy to complain about the clio in retrospect, when it's actually mostly the fault itself.

My family had the pre face-lift Clio II for a long time, it's the car that my brother learned how to drive with 😁 Later he got a mk1 Kangoo to make deliveries, very coop car also and we made trips in it ao I have very good memories with these cars 😌 and at some point we also had the old Twingo, such a cool little car

I have this car since 2004 , I bought it new (I mean no second hand) and I dont want to buy another one in my 42. I absolutely love it. I take care of filters , oil, etc regularly and it works smooth. Some electrical problems only in all these years that were about 400-500 euros.

These are great cars. Owned a Dynamique diesel version of this for 7 years and put 150,000 miles on it. Cheap to run and maintain, super economical and all in all, fairly reliable. Also had pretty decent kit with auto lights and auto wipers. 100% agree about those cup holders. What was Renault thinking?!

Something to mention, as a happy Clio 2 owner... Get a spare clutch pedal linkage and just keep it somewhere, in the car. The design experts at Renault made the ball joints with hard nylon. So, at some point it will just break and leave you unable to use your clutch pedal. If you don't have a spare, you basically have to hope you are good at rev matching and banging it into gear. Other than that, I love these 😂

I own a 1.4 16V Expression version. It has about 170 000km on the clock (you can convert it to miles yourself) and mine doesn't look that bad at all. In fact it still looks brand new. The only things I replaced was normal wear and tear items one has to replace on any car whether it is an Renault, Mercedes or Rolls-Royce. The problem this guy has, is that he basically never did any maintenance on his clio, judging on the condition and cleanliness of that poor little car. Only thing that I agree with him is the cup holder issue. It is a bit on a tight awkward position, but I baught a aftermarket, universal cup holder that I added just behind the handbrake leaver, in between the front seats, it even looks like it was designed to be there from the factory, and guess what, problem solved. Then the comment about switching off the passenger airbag when there is a child sitting in it. It is only supposed to be switched off when you have a rear facing baby seat in the front passenger seat (its called a safety feature) so the airbag doesn't slam the baby's head into the front seat back. The dent on your bonnet is due to improper closing of your bonnet (or hood as some countries call it). Your supposed to close the bonnet by letting it fall about halfway, and not pushing it down with the palm of your hand, your supposed to do it with all cars no mater what make or model. I may also agree with the rear legroom space, but remember, it's a small hatchback, usually targeted at single guys or ladys or mothers with small children, the rear seats are basically meant for small children. If you baught that car for transporting your tall adult frends, you baught the wrong car. Yes, you might want to give an 3rd or 4th adult friend a lift, but then they just need to squeeze in and shut up, or walk. Sad when someone owns a car, treats it like crap, never do any maintenance on it, and makes dumb comments and complains about things that broke. It's not the car, it's you. To me, a car is like a beautifull lady, give her love and attention, and she will treat you well, but if you neglect her and don't look after her, she will only give you problems and sh*t. I love my little Clio.
