What does it mean to you? For me it is a song about a man who realises he loves a girl, but he's realised it too late and he cannot be with her. This song reminds me of my all loves when I was younger. Brings back memories. Sometimes the song makes me cry and sometimes I just listen to it with nostalgia...

I think when he says "I wanna see you undo it.", he's talking about the current relationship that the girl's in. The lyrics heavily hint towards having strong feelings for someone that's already in a relationship.

"Twist around the lounge Sun drowns the house" Matty is such a poet, the image here just brings back nostalgia, peace, and the rising tune, rhythm, harmony, it's just euphoric.
@TY-gh2yf

That's a nice interpretation, I can see it too. However, I know what twisting is, so yeah there's the euphoria but there's the horrible side to the drugs too

Matty said in an interview that they had there fun songs, his apologies and then the songs he wished he could of danced to at 80s themed proms. Swoon! I saw them live and he said "the personal songs make us the proudest because it's helping the fans." And it's true, everyday they help me smile with my depression, one of the only reasons.

This is one of my favourite songs of all time because it's just so intimate and personal and it hits home with me. Not giving someone the time of day because you're too scared to let them get close to you, and then after they've left you finally realise that you love them but by then it's too late. I have far too much experience in the sadness that comes after that happens so this song is held dear to my heart

I was in love with my best friend back in highschool but I wouldn't tell her anything because I didn't want to ruin our friendship. Little by little we started to suspect something and just kissed. We've been together for 4 years now and it's been so great. This song reminds me of that kiss as the happiest moment in my life. Okay, listen to this song again and close your eyes. Imagine this is your first dance at your wedding with the one you love. imagine you have choreographed a dance to this very song and you are about to go and blow all your friends and family away. Imagine the lights are low at the start of the verse and you walk slowly towards each other, then at the chorus BAM you lift the girl up the lights twirl like a mirror all around you. The twirls, he lifts and the spins and them that kiss at the end...I know the lyrics don't really go hand in hand with a wedding scenario but come on this music would be PERFECT!

@TY-gh2yf

That's a nice interpretation, I can see it too. However, I know what twisting is, so yeah there's the euphoria but there's the horrible side to the drugs too

Matty said in an interview that they had there fun songs, his apologies and then the songs he wished he could of danced to at 80s themed proms. Swoon! I saw them live and he said "the personal songs make us the proudest because it's helping the fans." And it's true, everyday they help me smile with my depression, one of the only reasons.

yaya medina Why would that offend me? Giving an opinion doesn't equal offense. And I'm a fan, that's why I'm here.
This is one of my favourite songs of all time because it's just so intimate and personal and it hits home with me. Not giving someone the time of day because you're too scared to let them get close to you, and then after they've left you finally realise that you love them but by then it's too late. I have far too much experience in the sadness that comes after that happens so this song is held dear to my heart

this will forever be my favorite song by The 1975 I'm still not over it after 4 years
i love remembering this song exists and loop it an unhealthy amount of times this song is so underrated and i’m actually happy about it
“I wanna see you but you’re not mine”. *ouch* dude, too relatable. I feel sad and lonely listening to this but it gives me a feeling of peace at the same time. I love driving around the city at night blasting this song with the window down and feeling the cold wind on my hand and face. I love this band so much. ❤️
I was in love with my best friend back in highschool but I wouldn't tell her anything because I didn't want to ruin our friendship. Little by little we started to suspect something and just kissed. We've been together for 4 years now and it's been so great. This song reminds me of that kiss as the happiest moment in my life. To anyone out there wondering wether to tell your bff that you love them or not: do it. This is a divine sign.
So glad this song is getting the recognition it deserves! I never want it off the setlist.

This song hits hard
