The 1972 Isle of Man TT marked a real turning point in the history of the races with some of the top stars vowing that they would not return to the Island to compete, following the death of Gilberto Parlotti in the 125cc race.
In the 350cc Junior race Phil Read had joined Agostini in the MV team, but dropped out on the second lap with gearbox trouble as the Italian overwhelmed his rivals once again. Tony Rutter, another name for the future, produced his first 100 mph lap to pip Mick Grant, who ran out of petrol on the line, for second place.

Loved the sound of those MV's, I was lucky enough to be at the TT races in 1970 and '74 to see and hear them.
Ago did great and he's not even a local. What a rider.
That was the first of many happy years [72] of going over there, I can remember "my" mates, getting me bladdered one night only to take me to the Highlander to watch the 125s the following day. I can still hear them screaming going passed !!
Oh for those far off days life was hard but we seemed to get so much more from it been there lived it loved it miss it 😊

I had a 1976 RD 400, that bike was fun in the Hollywood hills and Mulholland. I know I would've loved trying to run the Ilse of Man course

Carl the I OM tt course is a one of a kind , nothing else like it in the world. Only experienced racers are allowed to compete on it during closed roads. A lot of roadbike riders try to emulate the racers and sometimes come off. This place TT week/ Manx GP week is the place of biking dreams and not to be missed, if only once in your life you could manage to get over there is something to remember for the rest of your life.
wish there would still be a small displacement class at the TT

I can remember having a pint of Castletown ale in the Ballacraine In 78..i think it became an antique shop in the 80s,also notice the lack off straw bales on the house at May Hill, just after the play park,a few have ran into that in recent times.
