In this video I shoot and discuss the 1851 Navy in 44 caliber, cap and ball revolver made by Pietta.
For one main reason (It did not exist in the 19th century-as if that's some kind of violation), this apparently popular revolver (as demonstrated by how many different versions are available for sale) is rarely featured on Video channels or discussed on social media sites. When it is mentioned...people almost always "warn" the owner to remember its not historically accurate. Yet...we shoot, discuss and feature other revolvers that did not exist (i.e., Ruger Old Army invented in 1970's) with no such warning!
Here, we shoot the 1851, 44 caliber Colt Pietta reproduction, enjoy it, and discuss perhaps what makes this revolver the most popular cap and ball revolver that few seem to admit they own!
