The 10 MUST Watch Monk Episodes To See Before The Movie! | Monk

In preparation for Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie, here are the 10 essential episodes to watch!

Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.
#Monk #AdrianMonk #TonyShalhoub
The Official Channel devoted to the brilliance of DI Adrian Monk; the defective San Franciscan detective, whose OCD is both a blessing and a curse. We'll be posting the very best moments from the show so, like Monk, you'll never miss a beat.

"Monk and the kid" managed to make me cry. I mean, the way he wanted to adopt him and protect him, and how he raised him with love and care, better than most people. I loved the segment where Tommy become the hero of the story, the little king helped by mr.Monk. It's rare when tears fall, but if it happens, then i must congratulate your work, and how on-point you were. Hope the Monk movie will be as great. I mean, lot of episodes where great, so well written and touching, but the one with Tommy was even better.

I never cry at tv shows but that bit where he is in the chair with the boy and explaining how he can't even look after himself..hits me hard. I relate to Monk so much. I have OCD and PTSD too. I remember when it was on the telly my mum and me would watch it together and she started calling me Monk! It made her understand me a bit better. Also the final episode when he is hugging his wifes pillow, God, that made me cry!

@@user-ce6uq3dn9o i suffered from PSTD since my childhood, the episode was helpful to me. It made me understanding PSTD better, and i related to Monk, especially where the father abandoned them and he had a kid with another woman. And one of the children was unable to move on, let alone, having children. I deeply related to Monk more than i expected.

"Mr. Monk and the Kid" makes me sob anytime i've ever watched that episode. Adrian has truly just always wanted love in his life. He never received it as a child and then his wife tragically past away. I feel that pain. I cry the same way at the episode with the dog.

I watched Monk when it ran on tv originally and absolutely loved it. It is so cleverly written and acted. Tony is brilliant as Monk. I can’t imagine another actor who could have played Monk. I now have the box set and watch the entire 9 sessions over and over and never get bored of it. The last two episodes were so thoughtfully written and I think it was the best ending. So fitting to honour Trudy and introduce her daughter. I can’t wait for the movie.

Plots with such great actors in role and timing for the each story episode never failed to let me down. I hug them all. Dysfunction as Monk and his company were all fun and excellent and a good recommendation for a new viewer. We need more writers and actors like what was Monk. What a pleasure and gifted group. Only a few seconds with dr. Kroger, who was an essential part of Monk's life for six seasons? Disappointing.

The movie was horrible. Monk was one of my favorite shows ever and they brought him back just to tarnish his legacy. Typical Hollywood. In the first 10 minutes, they've established that not only is Monk less functional than he was in the original show, but also that he's suicidal--this is in spite of his daughter only days away from getting married. The villain is so cartoonishly evil that he would threaten a reporter straight to his face; and at the same time, a choppy flash-back to a murder that he committed played for 5 seconds as they were talking about it. Did the editor call in sick that day? That reporter also just so happens to be Monk's daughter's fiancé and gets murdered in the goofiest fashion possible, and it's followed by the worst acting I've ever seen. "What happened?" "Oh, the cord was 6 feet too long." This was a conversation that happened between two bystanders two seconds after someone just died in front of them. Please tell me this isn't real. Unlike with the murders in the original show, this was a murder that happened to someone they knew and had a connection with--and yet instead of being serious and somber, they act like how they usually act in the original show--all goofy and quippy. Even the fanservicey stuff like Monk's OCD tendencies in interactions with regular people are done wrong. They spend 2 minutes on Monk refusing to give some kid a $20 bill because he wouldn't be getting his exact change or something. This scene wasn't funny, it was sad and annoying. Why do writers in the American entertainment industry nowadays have no talent? This is Adrian Monk's LAST CASE and they have the murder victim be some random guy with 5 minutes of total screentime and not be from the original show? Why?? There's no emotional weight behind any of this at all.

I didn’t like it either. If they do another movie then it should be a crossover with Psych.

Monk regressing makes sense cause of the covid isolation, that effed up a lot of people mental health in real life and caused suicides, also all of his friends leaving him and not being able to work during the pandemic. It was quite dark but it made sense.

@@comicsans6487 But the original show already established that when Monk has loved ones with him, his OCD behavior is pushed away. He already solved his wife's murder case and was content with taking care of her daughter. Even if people in real life fell into depression during the lockdown, there is no reason for Monk to also have. Monk is a character in a show and that shows should adhere to their own logic and not to reality. Also, if his friends leaving him would cause him to feel suicidal, his potential death would be on them, and that definitely isn't what the show intended.

@@KenLinx If you know people in real life with OCD, phobias and depression like Monk the symptoms tend to worsen a lot after prolonged isolation and chronic stress, Monk is human idk why you think he should be immune to what affects other people with the same disorder. They even state in the movie that he was better after solving Trudys murder but regressed after COVID which makes sense.
