Came back here to update because I've followed all of your videos, memorized your study guide, and took your practice test. I passed this morning!! First try and had 55 minutes to spare. However, the questions were so much different than I expected. I only had 2 questions about the overhead squat assessment, and maybe 4 or 5 about overactive and underactive muscles. But I HAD SO MANY ABOUT STAGES OF CHANGE. At least 7 questions were about what stage of change someone was in, 3 or 4 about scope of practice, and a handful of questions about knee alignment in relation to the toes. The things I studied most were barely on there lol. Definitely a lot different than the practice tests NASM gives but your videos and resources made me feel confident going into it and honestly that attitude did a lot for me! THANK YOU.

I just took the test and yes , they change it all the time so a lot of these videos online are helpful but not exact . I had a lot of questions on hypertension and change model and so many random questions. It’s tricky. NASM does a good job of keeping you on your heels

I have not taken my exam yet. I need to in the next 4 weeks. But so far I am disappointed and frustrated with NASM. Entirely to much random material that will not matter to 90% of you daily job as a PT. I thought it would thoroughly go over exercise science and planning and not just 700 + pages of an anatomy book and expecting you to memorize it all at random. should have used ISSA.

UPDATE : I passed mine last evening and the questions that were in the exam focused on topics that were so much different than the topics that were focused on in the NASM chapter quizzes and practice exam. One needs to be thorough with the entire course material to pass. The videos on youtube about the important topics to study may not be accurate anymore. Maybe the NASM instructors changed the format of questions because of all the videos that were on youtube haha :p

No professional would ever say gastroc is superior to soleus... very poor language. It is SUPERFICIAL to soleus. Yes, its tendons go further up and past the knee but that is not how we would describe the relation. Not your fault though. Good video aside from your thoracolumbar pronunciation (haha).

This is the bullshit. The answer on last 10 question is wrong. Is not C, the correct answer is D. Retraction and depression of the shoulder blades. This is a common form mistake during a push-up. It is important to maintain proper alignment of the shoulder blades by retracting them (squeezing them together) and depressing them (pulling them down towards the hips) throughout the exercise. This helps to engage the chest muscles and maintain stability in the upper body. Feet too wide, elbow flexion, and the stomach falling towards the ground are not necessarily form mistakes during a push-up.

@@BayeethMaazahn The common complaint and mine is they do a good job pointing you in the right direction of what you should know, but they do a horrible job in providing context or giving you proper real world advice as a trainer. It's basically become a test you have no choice to take to get your foot in the door at most gyms.
