Geoff Johns' Hawkman run is what sold me on him. I'm not really a dc fan, but I tore his run in like 2 days because it was so much fun to read. The stories all had a neo-silver age feel to them. A lot of self contained story lines in each book while still managing to have a larger story arc.

Great video! Love Geoff Johns and I've read a lot of his books, but he has sooo much content. Finishing his Avengers run right now (Red Zone hitting hard). Next to Grant Morrison and Scott Snyder, Johns is my favorite writer and he always has brilliant artists.

This period where johns was still actively writing was probably my favorite time to be a comic fan. DC and Marvel were at the top of their game and some of the best indie books were coming out. The 2000s-2014 were excellent in my opinion

I just got his Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E run and tore through the entire book in one evening. If there's one thing to remember him when we all get older and in our sixty, seventies and eighties, we will all remember him for creating STARGIRL. I can picture what his tombstone would look like. Him wearing a green lantern shirt and having his hand on Stargirl's shoulder.

Man what i love about Geoff is the continuity. The first time I read his Green Lantern besides the art being awesome (especially for the times) I didnt get why it was so great. But then 10 years later I went back and re-read it all and the brilliance emerged and I caught all the little details. And I was in awe of the entire book.

As someone who had been a diehard Aquaman fan before Johns, his run was amazing. He really made Aquaman into the badass that he was and the omnibus that was put out is great. It’s small but the quality of storytelling like Throne of Atlantis was amazing. Easily in my top ten favorite comic book stories.

    10) Totally fell in love with John's run on the Flash. Like you said, the Rogues are the best part of his work (the side characters are amazing) and his Wally is good (Waid only surpass Johns on writting Wally). 9) The story is SO great. The publishing dates were the problem. When you have to wait two months or more for the next issue is pretty heavy but when you get the whole series and binge read it, it's amazing. 8) I like his Shazam's take in New 52, waiting for his Rebirth's run to be completed to start it. 7)Love Boster Gold's role in 52, I should check this run, thanks for the recommendation. 6) This is what got me into comic books. Aquaman New 52 is everything I could ask for a comic book (for a new reader or someone who has been in DC for a long time) The art fits perfect with the tone and characters, Ivan Reis is one of my favorite artist and here he shines. The whole run was amazing and I couldn't continue after Johns left the title. 5) In my country is kinda hard to get this run but I'm still waiting to get it and read it. 4) One of my first reads. At the time, I loved every single issue in this run. A year later, a second read show me it has its ups and downs: The first arc a little messy; second nothing of value except roasting Steve Trevor; Throne of Atlantis was AMAZING; Trinity War so good (the mistery and the ending); I agree with you about Forever Evil, loved the villains from Earth 3 and Lex Luthor stepping up; the next arc a little weak compared to the previos three but better than the first two; and at last, Darkseid War, for me an okay story, which started SO strong and when "someone" died everything kinda went bananas and shit. 3) Green Lantern Rebirth and Sinestro Corps War are incredible! Such an epic way of starting a title. 2) Blackest Night is great, a little slow at some point but entertaining like hell. 1) For me the weakest of Geoff Johns'run with Green Lantern, Brightest Day is not bad but far from the best Geoff Johns gave us. I'd reccomend Batman Earth One (still waiting for Volume 3) and Superman: Secret Origin.

It’s simple. Geoff Johns is my favourite comic book writer. The Flash, Green Lantern and JSA are my favourite works/runs of his. I think his best work was on Green Lantern. He completely reinvented the mythos and made Hal Jordan one of the most popular characters for almost a decade. To this day Green Lantern Rebirth, Sinestro Corps War and Blackest Night remain as some of the most iconic and popular DC Stories ever. Also I need to mention that he made Hawkman and Aquaman badass. His run on Hawkman gets slept on and it is amazing. I think it’s only got 2 books, kinda hope it gets an omnibus later down the road

My thoughts exactly. I've been a fan of Wonder Woman since the 2009 animated movie, but I feel like recent writers haven't been doing her justice like she deserves. Geoff recreated so many mythologies in the DC Universe and I would love to see him do the same to Wonder Woman. One of the things she is laking is a larger rogues gallery and I think he could both reinvent some of her villains and also create some truly great characters; that's what he did with the Flash (Zoom) and Green Lantern (Atrocitus and Larfleeze). Here's hoping

I love Geoff but recently he has fallen off his mythology building a bit. Shazam is winding up incomplete and its plot is basically his run on GL. The Seven Seas thing in Aquaman did not venture into each of those cultures really. And his characters are talking way too much in sound bites piled onto sound bites. I feel like this magnificent writer will soon be where Bendis now is. Oh, and let's not forget his Vision miniseries and Avengers run. Those were great, too. My favorite is his Aquaman run and Doomsday Clock.

These HAVE to be the 2 answers, they are the 2 most important things hes ever done and absolutely his mos influential. Nearly every great writer, when referencing johns, these 2 runs are always mentioned by the greats. Because it is quintessential HERO comic books and quintessential DC story telling at its best. Personally for me about Doomsday Clock I'm not a big fan of because there was some things that Geoff Johns did to the story I felt like could have been introduced outside of the main Watchman story I know Doomsday Clock Was by Design to be a sequel to it but I just felt like he didn't really grabs the idea of Watchmen what it really meant when he was the first established in the 80s like it's deeper themes its metaphors like he really didn't understand it he respects it but he doesn't understand it. It just felt like a fan writing dr. Manhattan without really understanding Doctor Manhattan. He got them to some degree but it just didn't feel like dr. Manhattan for me and there was characters that like the silhouette and her husband they're pretty cool. You didn't need to introduce those characters in Doomsday Clock. For me at least like Doomsday Clock for me even though it's not the worst thing that Geoff Johns has done but for me for my personal feelings it's the worst work I've read from Geoff Johns now the rest of the list I completely agree 100% this is just the one that I don't think it deserves to be in the list like that the end like you said it's just my opinion that's fine and I respect yours

Johns Is okay. Remember his JSA was done with Goyer and Robinson. After he took over the stories fell down. Generally, his shtick is that he dumbs down ideas so that they struggle after he’s gone. When he leaves titles they tend to be broken for years after he left. Check it out.

Doomsday clock is utter garbage. Read it in one go and try to outline the plot...and you realise there is none. It ends up with characters preaching to the readers through the fourth wall and stating outright the themes of it. Utter garbage.

hardly care about the Clock take, but nah his JSA is excellent. He put those characters on the map, he was pretty much the only reason to read that book especially when he came on as Cowriter, Goyer is 100% a hack, and Robinson left after like five issues to finish out Starman. Also counterpoint to your last point, he leaves Aquaman, and the character has proceeded to enjoy his best decade since the 90's. Checked Out, done and done. And furthermore, if the concepts are that simple, other writers shouldn't have a problem following up those up properly. Seems like its more of a fault with the writer who come after him, then him.

I feel like Geoffs Superman run never worked, the magic he was able to bring to Green Lantern, Flash, and JSA, just didn't cross over into Superman.
