I am not sure about that reach volley that Hun took off the 1st lob return. From my perspective that 11ft high return will bounce higher that the net. I think the better return would be to let that bounce above the net and drive it deep.

I agree. I probably would’ve stepped back and hit that ball to Tom, who was further back and in transition, forcing him to hit a difficult volley on the move.

What kind of shots do you like to return with 3rd shot drops instead of drives?

I’ll usually play a drop if the return is shallow with a low bounce, deep with a high bounce, or forces me to move quickly to my left or right. Also, I don’t usually prefer backhand drives, so I’ll typically drop if I have to play my backhand.
