The #1 Secret that Pro's don't tell you!!!

Ойын-сауық

I had a thought this morning and it couldn't have come at a better time. I just made a video, and then went fishing I woke up the next morning and realized what they aren't telling you. Here it is in this video while I'm practicing what I preach.

    Bring back the 1 rod challenge. I think the reason it didn't get traction the 1st time is your channel was still growing. Now you have a following and people know you do what you say and you don't sugar coat anything or bs and just tell it and show it like it is.

    Yeah man thats how it is sometimes you have to throw the Ned to see if you can get a bite when nothing else is working, but I will try every rod I got to catch them another way! Thanks Todd!🎣👍

    Bro I'm a power guy thru and thru. Grew up on the Tennessee river. But after living up north and in and around the Midwest for a few years you better learn and like throwing a ned rig. It doesn't bother me to go finesse. I'd rather not but I'd rather catch fish than not and even now that I'm.back south your absolutely right some days it's all that works and works well. It all about fishing the moment.

    I have caught so many fish on a Ned rig. The regular, the big, and the great big one. I had a great big one on one day and the other angler laughed at me until in 3 casts I put in the live well two 5 lbers and one 8 lber. He went to scrambling for something similar. Ned rig has been good to me and still my go too back up 😁👍

    I was one of the comments dogging the ned. Perhaps I should have been more specific. Most, emphasis on most because it isn’t all, of the times that a Ned would be the “20# bag and 50 fish day” like you replied on my comment, something much more fun to fish is working close to good enough to justify not throwing a Ned, caveat on outside of tournaments. Something like a Biwa rig, finesse paddle tail, those tiny Japanese ultra finesse shaking jigs, Duo BR rig, hybrid shad baits, jigging (not fluttering) spoon like the Duo Realis drag metal series, etc will work close to good enough to justify it over a Ned. For me the Ned is exactly what you explained, a last resort or cleanup type of bait. And about the only way I can bring myself to do it anymore is with bfs gear since it’s a little more fun. But most of the times that it’s turning into one of those 3 fish type of days, I’m picking up something like a hudd trout, osakana swimmer, little creeper trash fish, or some other bug soft swimbait or just switching to crappie depending on deep freezer space. Strongly agree on the one rod challenge being the best way to learn a bait/technique.

    Yeah man throwing a ned rig on toledo is a freakin nightmare... I've never tried a ned rig when you can texas rig it gonna have to order some of those owner hooks you showed yesterday because it seems like I break them off as fast as I can tie them on because of that open hook I just stay hung up... thats why i tend to lean heavily on a weedless neko and dropshot when i have to do the finesse thing. Definitely going to have to force myself to figure this technique out but you got my attention when you mentioned a new bait for a Carolina rig. I tend to have 2 on my front deck at all time just because i have so much confidence in that technique. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

    Ned rig rules in July and August at Mille Lacs…. If you don’t throw it there…you won’t catch them….Best Nedin in the country… It has its place in our arsenal’s… highly pressured conditions too… keep the vids coming🎯💪

    Todd I don’t think anyone can accuse you of one bait fishing. And I agree most don’t want to throw a Ned rig all day. But you are using ffs and I can see Randy turning 50 shades Red. But what I would like to of seen you do is this. Ok perfect Ned rig situation so I am going to do different things and movements with my Ned rig to see what prompts the quickest strike or if I do this I’m catching bigger fish then if I do this. Other words perfect opportunity to perfect your Ned rig technique so in tournaments you can jump on it and catch fish as quick as possible then move on.

    if anyone actually thought you meant fish it all day long are not bass fishermen with very much experience. I think we all know that you fish with what catches fish at the time and maybe you figure that out or maybe you struggle all day. I think that is what fishing really boils down to, some times you get it and sometimes you don't ! God Bless!

    This is probably a silly question, but what is the big difference between the ned rig and a shaky head rig? Aren't they fished the same way?

  • @toddcastledinefishing5924

    @toddcastledinefishing5924

    9 ай бұрын

    Not a bad question I would say the biggest difference is that the ned rig is a downsized version of the shaky head, which is a downsized version of the Texas rig. If they downsize it again we’ll be catching bluegill on it. 😂
