Great video very informative. Unfortunately in the UK, we don't tend to stickers on the back of cars unless it is a football team logo, so that won't help with niches, but a great idea if that option is available. One thing I also struggle with is coming up with good descriptions, the chatGPT you were dropping your image into, I assume that was the paid option?

Great question! Honestly they both work fine and I just prefer Dalle because of its slightly better prompt adherence and convenience of being integrated with chatGPT

For Etsy I write ebooks that can be resold, but I guess they could be printed on demand on Amazon.

Good question! It starts off low $10-$100/day and you slowly increase as it performs better

Yeah just front prints and we just started doing the branded neck labels (not necessary for just starting out)

ive just started this but with Posters to begin with, what I struggle with is the taxes policies since I'm based in Europe I have not come across a decent video about us living in Europe wanting to do this. then we have the shipping options very diffuse and confusing. giving shipping options for express how to estimate the prices ect

You don’t have to worry about collecting US sales tax until you hit certain thresholds in each state (Shopify will notify you when you reach them)

Leonardo is great! All of them are pretty good now, I recommend just picking one and sticking with it since they all work slightly differently

Depends on the model used, but for Dalle-3/ChatGPT4 you can use the designs for commercial purposes

Printify covers the cost if it’s their fault (wrong product, defective, etc.) and I tell the customer to keep it

I remove the white background of my graphic but when I vectorize the image, it adds a black background? Is there a way around this?

Hi there! I'm curious why you sell via a platform, ie Shopify, rather than just selling directly from your own website? I know it's a popular option, so I'm wondering if there are benefits I'm not aware of, or something else I'm missing, as to why it's such a popular option - can you shed any light?? Shopify is selling on your own site - the only alternative would be first taking 2-3 years learning to code and build it from scratch yourself

@me-Comm Wasn't being facetious! Apologies if it came across as such. To clarify, Shopify isn't a "platform" like Etsy, Redbubble, etc. it's basically just a drag and drop website builder like Woocommerce or Wix. Shopify is better than them (IMO) because it is specifically built for ecom sites, meaning more specialized apps/integrations with all the best softwares, ease of use, etc.

@@LetsDoLife123 You're definitely going to need some capital as a "buffer" because you wont receive the money from etsy instantly but printify is going to charge you upfront before making the shirt.

Great video, Chris! I am just wondering is it legal now to sell AI art on t-shirts? I remember a while ago there were lawsuits related to selling AI art wherein original artists claimed that AI is basically copying and mish-mashing their designs to provide a final output so essentially AI is infringing, something along that lines.

They do that fairly often, that’s why I start on Shopify + FB ads and then add in Etsy later

I never hear about the taxes you must pay at the end of the year. You are basically working for Spotify and others more than yourself. So realistically how much are you taking in after taxes?

You pay taxes on the net income. On an average day we’ll make $3-$4k in sales -> $1,000 net profit -> $200-$400 goes to taxes (depending on your tax bracket and where you live) = at least $600-$800 leftover

So if we don't want to pay for clipdrop we upload the photo to Vectorizer which is also not free? I don't get it. It is very expensive actually

@leila you can use both tools for free - you just have to do your images 1-by-1 instead of in bulk

@@ChrisHeckman you do need to be subscribed to vectorizer in order to download the images. Maybe it used to be free, it's not now. It's not expensive though, only $9.99 a month, it's just not free.

Even when I use “/describe” with an image, Midjourney just seems to be dropping the ball on the concept. My prompt will say “VHS logo” and Midjourney has “YOS!” on one, “HHS” on another, also “WIDAS”… Thoughts?

My experience with ver 6 is that you may have to do several re-rolls of your prompt to get the correct text - v6 just started becoming better at adding text --- you could also add text with photoshop and then do a /des on midjouney and see if that picks up what your trying to do.
