The primary issue with this is that it's getting much harder for players like me who want to bounce back into Metal Fight but can't afford to buy exclusively the authentic parts. Have you seen what most reshuffle sets go for nowadays? It hurts physically when I have to blow hundreds just for a couple of pieces, and the market on the WBO isn't as reliable as it once was. If these midfakes can prove themselves to be of even slightly higher quality and durability than those of Rapidity and Flame, then I say let people use them, as long as they can be proven safe. Beyblade should be accessible to everyone, not just the hardcore collectors.

In defense of the midfakes, buying used authentic Beyblades on Ebay doesn't exactly support Takara and Hasbro either. Midfakes serve an important role in this hobby for people who want to get Metal Fight beyblades without having to pay the ridiculously overblown Ebay prices of them.

From my experience, the people who buy fakes/midfakes do so because the original versions aren't sold in their region and getting one from overseas can get expensive. Maybe TT & Hasbro have an obligation to their fans from all regions that they can afford the original products.

True, Brasil has no way to buy official Takara tomy beys in country and buying from outside makes them ludicruosly expensive like would you rather pay 250 dollars for a takara tomy Nemesis or pay 50 for a midfake one that's basically the same fucking thing?

With respect, buying 100% authentic mfb beyblades off ebay or second-hand stores does not support the original creators. These products were either already purchased or sold to another store.
It's one of the most heartbreaking bombshells when I discovered at least half of my 4D beys were midfakes, but I didn't know back when I bought them. I did however notice their odd quality, specifically their rubber tips, messier metal wheel moldings and strange text printed. What's more frustrating is the launchers even still say "Takara Tomy" molded on them. Thankfully, my rarer beys like Duo or Jade are genuine. Midfakes aren't terrible, they have okay quality, but like you said, they still don't help support the actual creators.

@@castor9907 What I was ACTUALLY trying to say that is it, as a fan of Takara Tomy's beyblade products, I feel like I should show my support (not necessarily a financial one) by buying the legitimate things. I'm not claiming that they'll go "Oh wow, they're awesome for buying the products we made!", but it's more mentally, that it feels right to support their product by buying something the company have actually made. I wasn't trying to "pretend" that I was supporting TT financially by buying their actual products.
I dont really see how its a scam, you are getting an unofficial replica of something that isnt made anymore, if it performs the same as a legit bey which it does, and if it doesnt have lead which it doesnt, and can be used in tournaments which they can, then it just seems like you want people to pay over $30 for a rare bey because you think it supports tt. A little late to the party there, but a very informative and important video for the community nonetheless. As a collector myself I have gone through the struggles of identifying them apart in the past so I will list some tips here: For new in box listings: 1. Code (at bottome of box) - last 2 digits should NOT end in 12, 13, or 14 as these numbers represent the year of manufacturing and metal fight ended in 2011 for the majority of Takara Tomy beys. If you can, ask seller for a picture of a code, if they're confident in their product they will be happy to provide. 2. Box color and clarity - midfakes are washed out in color. Also look at the smaller Japanese text... midfakes have blurry text while real Tomy ones have very clear printed characters. (This is one of the ways I tell midfakes when looking at photos of listings, when code is not shown) 3. Location of item - best avoid ones from Taiwan and China as these are where the midfakes factories are at. 4. Sometimes they have sample photos of the contents, in which case use the tests below. For second hand listings and beys you already own: 5. Facebolt tattoo - is off-centered for midfakes 6. Stickers - for midfakes, coloring is washed out and less saturated, while printing may be off-centered. A great example of this is Phantom Orion. I recommend DaimyoGT's video on Phantom Orion midfake comparison. 7. Plastic moulding - the moulding of the facebolt, clear wheel, spin track and performance tip of real Tomy or Hasbro beys are very clean. Midfakes however, have a lot of excess plastic and jagged cuts. 8. Metal wheel moulding - most obvious one... midfakes have bad moulding and less detail. A good example is Earth Eagle 145WD, the clear wheel does not fit perfectly in the fusion wheel for midfakes due to bad moulding. The Diablo wheel also has trouble fitting with the X:D tip and Nemesis' ultimate balance mode does not work due to it being too stiff. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking~

For beysandbricks, it is extremely easy to tell if it's a midfake. They literally spell it out for you. If the item says "OEM Status: Reproduction" its a guaranteed midfake.
"The problem with fakes is that buying them doesn't support the creators of beyblade" idk man seems like they're creating more metal fight beys than Tamara Tomy. Buying authentic beys only helps resellers, so by that logic if we want more metal beys we should buy midfakes, not authentic beys.

If you ask me, intellectual property is the real scam. Just look at transformers, where the third party toys are higher quality and better designed than any official releases. I reckon if we didn't have such a hard-on for authenticity in this community, third party manufacturers wouldn't need to lie about it, and there could be more open competition and comparison of midfakes, leading to beys that are even better than the originals.

Idk why Takara Tomy or Hasbro hasn't capitalized on this. Clearly a lot of people still care about metal fight era of Beyblade.
Sure, but like what do you do if you want a specific metal fight bey in new condition and don't have £100+ to buy it. Is it my fault that they didn't make enough copies for everyone? And why didn't they continue producing some of them, like once an year or so? This way we wouldn't be temped to buy midfakes that are so close to the real thing :/
My reason for not buying real Beyblades is because takaratomy do not sell beys in our country and even if they did i would not have brought it because of the high price. Just imagine paying more than 40$ for a piece of plastic and metal in a country where a a single dollar amounts to 80 native currency.

Thanks for making a video on this, Jake! I think I’ve been pretty close on buying one of these beys while thinking they were legit ones, maybe some scalpers had gotten a hold of them. Idk. But thanks for always being a bright light in the beyblade community.
I’d love to support the actual creators but they quit making them. How am I support to give them my money for one? Because you can’t. Even if I’d love to. Even buying real ones for $100+ isn’t supporting them. It’s supporting whomever you bought it from…… there’s literally no way to enjoy our classic beyblades without spending everything to have one or these thoughtful people who bring midfakes to us at an affordable price.
I've been a victim of these midfakes... In 2017 I ordered Big Bang Pegasis, Diablo Nemesis, and Basalt Horogium, and 4-5 years later I found out that they were fake all along...
I'm 23 and wanting to get back into metal fight beys every now and then, because I never had that many during my childhood, but it's borderline impossible to get legit ones nowadays because the abundance of fakes. If hasbro and TT started re-releasing metal fight beys, it would be awesome, because I know there's a ton of people like me that would be re-living our childhood
As far as I know Midfakes don't exist for Plastic Gen/HMS and Burst. It's honestly an MFB exclusive kind of thing.
I don’t think it’s a scam for me because I buy them on purpose. When it comes to 4d beyblades there is almost no other option than buying midfakes because the originals are to expensive here in Europe. But when it comes to metal fusion/masters beys only buy authentic tt or hasbro because they are way easier to get and way way cheaper. So I kinda like midfakes for that one reason just that it allows me to have these goddamn beyblades.
I'm glad midfakes and rapidity didn't exist back when I was a kid growing up on the original (tbh I even sort of "grew up" on metal fight) but it is disheartening to see even Metal Fight prices for originals be so extreme. I understand paying $100+ for Dragoon MS, the Beyblade is almost 20 years old and one of the most prized beys in existence thanks to how limited HMS itself was, but $100+ for L-Drago Destroy or Meteo L-Drago? That's straight up bs
This is frustrating. My friend and I recently got back into MFB after 10+ years and we want to get new parts/beys for our collections but you really can't trust anything now. I bought a TT Flame Libra and Dark Cancer a couple years back and while they seem to look and perform genuine I'm still not 100% sure.
My boy called out beys & bricks💀
Today is 2022, which is 14 years after Metal Fight saga debuted (The pre hybrid wheel lineup debut in 2008, then in 2009 comes the Hybrid Wheel system and Anime that we all come to know)..... or specifically 10 years after metal fight 4D ended so even without the knowlegde of midfakes people should've guessed that these so called "Takara Tomy" or "Hasbro" ones selling at that kinda price today is no way the real deal. A Beyblade once their lineup passed on would instantly become rare and harder to find in the after market, and this also applies to Burst too. Like example a Cho Z bey would become rarer once we have reached SuperKing or DB era, so even if even beys part of older Burst lineup is getting rarer then save to say that beys from previous Generations like Bakuten or Metal Fight is almost impossible to find an authentic one with a normal price.
@V2ULTRAKill

I mean you can find actual in box sealed takara tomy and hasbro plastics for that price or less. (Depending on bey, ones with particular anime significance are extremely high price, while insignificant but competitively amazing beys can go for under 10 dollars) Mfb and burst are just expensive.
eBay says they don’t allow for counterfeit items yet their listings are full of fakes😂.
It's not even necessarily a scam at this point unless they start charging the now inflated price if the originals due to scarcity. Buying the real ones doesn't support the makers of the originals anymore. It's a secondary market. The money for Takara Tomy has been made already. If Takara Tomy remade the genuine stuff and brought it to market, then the midfakes would be a total scam again. If you want the genuine stuff, then if it looks too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true. Though the sellers claiming legitimacy where there isn't legitimacy? They are scamming.

While I think its wrong to brand them as takara tomy according to the WBO some midfakes are actually tournament legal due to the accuracy of the parts and the accessibility
Well from a neutral prospective, If the original brands don't wanna re-release the beys as reasonable prices let midfakes be. If they upped the quality I see nothing wrong with it. People can get the beys they wanted as children for cheap. They perform the same and sometimes even better due to them being a bit heavier. I do agree on one thing, that they shouldn't be marketed as originals because some people such as myself want to get their hands on og box beys and don't know where to look or if what they are planning to buy is even real in the first place.
the sad thing is that it’s so hard to find real ones and it will take a very long time to find a real one

I prefer to buy burst beys because mid fakes of metal fight makes very dificcult to buy a real one.

Yeah I’m just a casual player, and I often buy midfakes cause they are really affordable
I'm still messed up finding out my flame libra is fake
Like you said , when we buy fakes we are obviously not suporting takaratomy or hasbro but in order to support them they should start making old beys again with a resonable price so people who are in to old gen beys can support them again and just have fun without worrying if ther fake or not
The thing is what we can do. I hate beyblade burst, the core mechanic that is bursting beyblades got to a point that is better to not burst them, and now they are built with so many teeth and anti burst systems, that for me shows me how bad it is. Recently I found my old collection of hasbro beyblades, like 5 month ago. My little brother got interested as well as my sister (and man, they're 16-17 yrs old, that's how awesome metal fight is)... I never experienced the 4D system. So I bought roughly 10 midfakes and they are awesome. If TT would still doing them I would buy them original, 0 problem. I mean is cheap enough to import them from amazon japan to my country. but they don't and I refuse to pay for a pre owned beyblade 100 usd+. I want to enjoy them metal, all of us. (I do have some BU TT beyblades, and yet we still hate them) the string launchers are great tho, have adapted 3 of them to metal fight :p

If a code is written on each part of the beyblade, i.e., face, ring, wheel, track, and tip, then is there any possibility it's a midfake?
Flame brand is already a billion dollar company by now ..
Why don't takara Tomy re-release metal fight Beyblade with reasonable pricing cause there is basically high demand for them
@sercider

That might happen in gen 4
Honestly with how prevalent Midfakes & Rapidity were/are I hope one day, as unlikely as it may be, we see a re-release of previous beyblade generations. It's probably nigh impossible, and maybe all of the molds have been long destroyed, but it would be a dream to see a dead competitive game resurrected even if for a short while. Buuut, that's just a pipe dream.
For me it’s almost impossible to find real beyblades under the 100, so I have to buy midfakes. I have a few to point out. The rubber on the meteo L-drago is soft, even softer than my Hasbro on, and even most off the tips off the beys I bought also feature usable rubber. I have only one question, I heard midfakes are licensed by tt is that real?
Hey, did you get that Diablo nemesis from Beysandbricks?
@nuc

No, I bought off of eBay. I know people that have bought off beysandbricks tho
I remember i had gotten a beyblade legends storm pegasus and a midfake rock leone. One hit, one hit was all it took for the the pegasus to destroy the fusion wheel and launch it towards the wall
Dang I think I might of bought these mid fakes last year do they contain lead?
I really don’t get what’s the problems with them besides distributors claiming they are TT, the “buying mids takes away support from the original manufacturer thing” I don’t think it’s valid because TT doesn’t sell them anymore anywhere so they are not profiting from them, and the quality of the beys itself is pretty close to the real thing if not the same from my experience, also repeated testing on KZread and from my local community shows they do not contain lead, what’s your opinion on mids? For me they are totally fine

The point of the video was to make people aware of the listings that call them genuine or authentic. Midfakes themselves? Not for me but I don't mind them.

Anyone know where you can get Real beyblades? Metals series
Well only Beyblade fandom is the only fandom that is killing itself from lead poisoning and that is sad ngl😢
wtf that's the exact rapidity set i bought when i was a kid lol
Where do you buy real takara tomy bablades
I did a lead test with my chem teacher to test if my midfakes had lead. We dissolved the beyblade in hydrochloride acid to see if there was any lead content but nothing happened. I did find that some paints could contain lead
Its getting hard to tell since the only real ones left that are being sold are b-stock. Ive gotten manu woth bad molds that are wiggly etc.
I will say that Mcfaboy10 got one of his tested at an actual lab where they scanned the whole wheel and it had zero lead. This was just one example, but this test was a lot more accurate then the cheap lead tests.

i ordered 5 from them 3 legit 2 midfakes the midfakes are pretty good quality though so im not complaining
It's scary to think that even some with well-known brands even be faked. I'm not into beyblade, but have a son who is into it, I don't think I can ever be knowledgeable enough to differentiate a real one from a good fake, if I stick with buying exclusively with Mall of Toys, can I be completely sure that it's real?
Mfb is my favorite and I hate that the only way to get real ones is to pay 100+ dollars just for a a piece of metal and some plastic pieces that aren't even close to costing that much
So say when I buy from BeysandBricks and underneath the product it says TT for brand, is it legit? Or is the site saying that? Edit: Damn…I got midfakes and didn’t even know it…even though it said. That’s fucked up

It depends on the item. They DO sell real stuff. MOST of it is real, but if it’s a listing like I showed in the video that’s strangely cheap… I would bet highly that it’s a Midfake.
Does anyone know if Beywarehouse/Maxmagnets, or as they go by on eBay, sell midfakes? I got a lot of Beys from them, and seeing maxmagnets in the video got my gears turning a bit, and now I'm a bit paranoid as well

@@shadow50011 Thank you, are their bursts items legit, or are they fake?
Well not all people have 20 now 30 dollars to spare for a beyblade, where i live hasbro beyblade that costs 20.99 dollars in us will cost 26 dollars because of shipping fee and other expenses, also shipping beyblades from mall of toys would add half of beyblade price to total because of shipping and 21% increase expense. Dont forget inflation
5:51- wait people nowadays dont use the term rapidity anymore?
I've gotten my Beys off of Ever-Wish... I haven't had any Problems with them AT ALL and They sell em really cheap too
4:05 the issue is that hasbro and takara don’t sell these in stores anymore. Buying them used do not support the creators because they don’t get any new money from that 5:04
I dont think midfakes do anyharm to takara tomy. Autenthic mfb prices skyrocketed after they stopped producing new mfb beys . Takara tomy doesnt sell them anymore anyway so have fun with your midfakes guys
but since takara tomy doesn't make metal beys anymore even if you buy original beys you won't be supporting them. instead you will be supporting those who had already bought them at a cheaper price and stocked them 8 years ago
why doesn't Hasbro and takara tomy produce the metal fusion ones if thats what most mid fakes making their money on? because i really want to buy and at this point im okay getting a mid fake
For me it's at the point where I don't even consider what real Beys to buy. It's about what midfakes are good quality to play with and it shouldnt be like that. Either the new beyblade gens should have better designs or they should just remake the metal beys

Do you know any midfake sellers that offer decent quality beys without lead in them?
If the price for the beyblade is cheaper then normal it’s most likely a fake like takara tomy beys are always pretty expensive. Also I was able to tell which one was the mid fake right away since the color of the bey is a little different then a normal takara tomy or hasbro bey.
Nice video buddy. Seriously, selling fakes are straight up illegal. I don't know why Tomy just sit there and let it happen. Plus I remember getting a fake around the late 2010s without even knowing them, I'm so happy I threw them away.
my brother had a midfake blitz striker which actually broke mid battle
is the dranzer X edition from amazon or aliexpress real?
Idc im buying mistakes no reason for a beyblade to be 300
the thing is, they are competitively allowed and that itself is already a dub tbh
Quick question: why are the rapity beys so bad? I mean I bought my entire life the beys from rapity
I don't like midfakes. They could lie and say they're from Takara Tomy or Hasbro right?
me with a small channel that risks my health:im gonna take a gamble and pray the midfakes i have dont have lead
I actually have a midfake… my spriggan requiem’s rubber is actually plastic
It’s the company’s fault that makes beyblades. Their decision to discontinue making these with so much demand is on them. I do not care if buying these beys doesn’t support takartoymi, if they wanted my money they should’ve made the beys I wanted.
I bought midfakes because the originals are simply too expensive in my country but I never thought for a second they would have heath risks like lead

If the bottom broke, that’s not automatically a sign they’re midfakes, as that can happen to legit beys too. If you’re unsure, check the cavity under the top of the face bolt and look for a number like A2. If it’s there, then it’s legit. If not, it’s a midfake.
