From the Boeing Website
The F/A-18 Block III Super Hornet is the newest highly capable, affordable and available tactical aircraft in U.S. Navy inventory. The Super Hornet is the backbone of the U.S. Navy carrier air wing now and for decades to come.
The combat-proven Super Hornet delivers cutting-edge, next-generation multi-role strike fighter capability, outdistancing current and emerging threats well into the future. The Super Hornet has the capability, flexibility and performance necessary to modernize the air or naval aviation forces of any country. Two versions of the Super Hornet - the single-seat E model and the two-seat F model - are able to perform virtually every mission in the tactical spectrum, including air superiority, day/night strike with precision-guided weapons, fighter escort, close air support, suppression of enemy air defenses, maritime strike, reconnaissance, forward air control and tanker missions.

Awesome as usual, so one thing you can try for lube on the slats is graphite powder. When I built the BVM F100s I found it worked well. If you don't have any in your shop you can use a #2 pencil which are normal graphite not lead. Sand with like 400 grit and the result will be Graphite power

I began my career in Top Notch Squadron At sea ended the Same Way. best time of 20-year path to success. The pitot tube needs to be in undisturbed air, preferably out of the leading edge of the wing or in the nose. I recently installed one in my Avanti, in the nose, and it's very accurate. The static ports should be at least 13mm out and the tip even further.

@@thelightersideofrc Engineering is all about compromises, so you have to do what you can. If the supports mimicked full scale design, the airflow would be less disturbed where you have it. Either way the owner should calibrate it with a series of stall tests. Then he'll know what speeds he can safely fly in the landing pattern. The rest of the build looks stellar!

The airspeed sensor isn't going to measure the right air speed. Because it wasn't mounted in free stream air and the sensor will be close to the surface, the boundary layer will throw off the speed, as well as different flight conditions such as angle of attack, slip, etc And those are some GIANT pilots haha

Thanks Spencer. I know of others that have had great success mounting the sensor like this on the same aircraft. So i'm hoping it works well. Pilots are the same scale as the aircraft based on a 6' tall person. Although they are the wrong scale now that they are missing some legs!
