    with all the talk about how broken skyrim is and how everything feels so stiff its great to see a video showing just how dynamic the world really is and how much thought the devs put into all the interactions

  • @user-gy9qf8nt5p

    @user-gy9qf8nt5p

    This video is the majority of the dynamic world, 95% of the game is stiff af. People play games like Skyrim and BG3 for entirely different reasons. Skyrim has almost nothing to offer in terms of CRPG nonlinear stuff. If it came out today, everyone would praise it for having impressive atmosphere and many variable locations, but the roleplay and combat parts would be frowned upon. Skyrim's success is a product of it's time, when an open world such as that was unprecedented. Without proper modding it's just a museum exhibit.

    @@user-gy9qf8nt5p bla bla bla bla bla I always find it funny how people tend to give more slack to games like RDR2, or generic playstation exclusives then go so fast to call it a masterpiece despite how a lot less complex a lot of those games are, yet when it comes to ambitious detailed game like skyrim people like you are so hell bent on nitpicking a lot of things and making the flaws deeper than it is. Also get off your high horse data has already shown that majority of people playing skyrim are doing it vanilla, your so stuck in your own world that you have to create this narrative that mods are what makes skyrim great, but it isn't. Skyrim is a great game, and the mods are there to elevate it, those mods wouldn't into so much pedestal if it wasn't put over a good foundation like skyrim. Also are we gonna pretend that every open-world game these days are better than Skyrim? LOL stop with that bs most open world games that has released recently are empty and boring as hell there only a few notable one out of those generic bs, and skyrim is like what? a 10-year-old game.

    @@user-gy9qf8nt5pThis is one of the stranger takes I’ve ever read. Vanilla skyrim is one of the most replayable games ever made. It’s sold millions of copies on the Nintendo switch which more or less can’t be modded. Yes it lacks a lot in the classic rpg department, but that’s borderline irrelevant as the video is about dynamic npc dialogue.

  • @user-gy9qf8nt5p

    @user-gy9qf8nt5p

    @@judbaker5752 the video covers just about all of it. You can love the game if you want (I do actually, just for other reasons), but pretending it's narratively rich is pretty funny. BG3 or New Vegas have way more contextual dialogue and replayability for narrative reasons. Also RPG department is classically about narrative and dialogue, not which cave you choose to explore this time or which damage increasing perk you obtain. CRPG genre, which emphasizes narrative heavily, exists for a reason.

    @@danieldavis8607 I'm increasingly suspicious that many of the small details shown here failing in Starfield were not the result of the devs forgetting them, but rather conscious choices not to include them, because this game's scripting system (our already well-known Papyrus from Skyrim) is stretched to its maximum capacity! However, despite these flaws, I quickly got used to them and I'm loving the game. I'm already over 300 hours and I'm still only about 2/3 of the way through the main mission, if that.

    So i recently decided to dive back in. Figured I'd go for a survival run through as an argonian. Boy was i in for a shock. First rule is never level up, well thats straight out the window as you jave to sleep so level up avoiding is gone. Second thing i learnt is that argonians hate the cold and thus good armour is out due to weight limits so crappy warm fur armour is a givven especially when heading north. Third thing i learnt is that argonians like meat but not veggies. Completely changed my gaming experience. Still the same game but absolutely brutal. However the argonians do have several tricks in compensation, warmth means pickpocketing in a warm place is easy, they can eat raw meat without getting diseases and they have water breathing. What a game. If only there were perks added for survival runs or a skill tree for survival runs.

    @@zosochan21 you think? I read about that on wiki. Seemed verified enough. Also, one of my characters recently (after this comment of mine) got attacked by an assassin on a bridge east of Riften. Didn't wear a DB armor at all. Hadn't touched the Civil War questline either. Somebody put a hit on me, dude had Astrid's letter and all on his corpse. Read a comment to some KZread video with a player describing same experience in the Rift (probably the same bridge), I wonder what triggers it cause I've been there multiple times in other playthroughs and it didn't happen once.

    I'm on my journey to collect all the trophies and do as many quests as I possibly can and it's been one hell of a journey so far 😁 Especially since I'm playing it vanilla to get those trophies. On PS5. I started it on PC with many mods, but at some point the mod that was supposed to enable the achievements broke and I didn't get them anymore and couldn't fix it. I was pretty far out already, but it didn't matter. I started a new character weeks ago and did it all over again 😂 Now it's my most accomplished save file. And I still haven't done many things I have done before. Saying Skyrim has infinite amount of content isn't really that far from the truth. 😅 And I'm ALREADY planning my NEXT character 🤣 I have finished the main quest line only 3 times now during all these years. Probably started like a hundred or so.

I mean, it's a 13 years old game and the vanilla game is still basically unplayable. As soon as I'm done with rhe trophies I'll go back to modded PC gameplay ASAP 😅 I moved to a console because the mod enabling the achievements stopped and refused to work for whatever reason. I bet it wouldn't take them more than a day to implement those already existing fixes to the vanilla game... Why they can't do it is beyond me...

    Honestly, even if they do release ES6, I think Skyrim is still going to remain one of their best. It has the right combination of large detail and small detail, has a good map that you can reliably memorize, and plenty of alternate options for questlines you don't want to deal with. ES6 will have a *lot* to live up to, no matter how many paid mods they try to stuff into it. I'll give the creation club mods the credit they deserve, several of them are pretty good (The armor mods in particular can be pretty neat.), but no matter how big they make the next game, they have to content with the juggernaut that is skyrims free modding scene. It's so easy that *I've* made mods (Small ones for the purpose of linking a door to another location because I got frustrated with running up a big ass stairway every time I went there), and I'm mostly inept. The things I've seen that scene do are galaxies away in comparison.
