Lol, yep... I will say... I do like those pliers for doing that. They don't apply as much force as I could with a hammer, so if the holes are slightly undersized, I don't have a tendency to "force it" and split the block. They're also handy to have close by so I can pull the pins out. Cheers sir!
Your meticulousness is awe inspiring, and I cannot believe the amount of punishment you put it through. I lack the words to express my feelings of appreciation for your craftmanship. Well done, sir!

I enjoy seeing the prosses and craftmanship that you put into your knives. I also like seeing that you use your bandsaw to remove the bulk of the material and not turning everything into dust that could be breathed in. It's good to see you using your PPE. I am recovering from lung surgery that I had last month, so this is something that is very much on my mind. Keep up the good work, stay safe, and stay awesome.

Very nice!!! Would that laser work to engrave the outline of the knife on the steel? Instead of making a pattern?

@@RedBeardOps thanks for taking the time to reply. Your work is awesome!! After watching your laser video I have been thinking of getting one. Just trying to figure out what all I could use it for. They are a lot of money. Lol
@RedBeardOps
Жыл бұрын
@@justinadams1650 thy are expensive! Leather work and templates are the biggest things I use them for. I've also made some parts and brakets for around the house. Having the ability to make stuff on the fly is nice. I'd advise paying for LightBurn as well. I also make boxes with it. If you're looking to engrave steel they just came out with a 40W laser and an infrared laser which likely both perform better than the 20W --- if you do end up buying one the RBO channel gets a nice kickback if you use this affiliate link to navigate to the site - www.xtool.com/products/portable-diode-laserbox-d1-for-laser-engraving-laser-cutting-b?ref=RedBeardOps&
Jeeeesus! I hope you realize that you have gone slightly insane. Are you making Swiss watches or knifes! Can you ever recoup the cost? After all the hours designing, fabricating and testing, and with the capital investment in your equipment, there is not way you are making any money. This must be some sort of hobby or obsession. The final product is an object of art but also the shooting of video and the editing is a huge work. This must be one of the best product and the best video I have seen in a long while. Absolutely amazing work.

@@RedBeardOps Well, you are great at it. I envy your tools and equipment.
A little curious why you bedded the blade... given that you were going to glue the final assembly. Maybe that's just the way they do it in Midland.

Lol, I wanted to a.) practice bedding and b.) make sure that the knife went back together presently during handle shaping before final glue up.
Mr. Red Beard I seem to have done something wrong with my ferric chloride. You said its a 50/50 mix of ferric chloride and distilled water. I purchased some ferric chloride and it turns out I can only get 40% ferric-Cl. I used it pure without diluting it but I get terrible results and its quite frustrating. Do you have any ideas? Much love from Switzerland. Love your cahnnel
