In case you didn't figure it out, Sam and Dean were trying to hustle that guy making believe Sam was drunk and then wining the game and the money.

1-900 numbers used to be used for phone sex hotlines back in the 90s in the US. Cable channels would advertise for them all the time between midnight and 3 am. So, Dean being Dean.

One of the best midseason episodes. A very interesting case involving the angels and new character Anna a human who can hear the angels speak and who know Sam and Dean. Flashbacks to the months Dean was in Hell shows just how broken and desperate Sam was and how much of a wreck he was. Meanwhile a new very powerful demon is introduced Alistair is no slouch and he has history with Dean. The angels show up and as usual their first act to solve this problem is smite Anna.

Gotta love the mid season episodes!! I love how interesting Anna was, I kept wondering how she is able to do what she does. I wasn’t surprised of how broken Sam was, after seeing the trickster episode I shielded myself for it, but dang it was hard to watch nonetheless. Alistair is scary, but the fact that the angles wants to get rid of Anna might be scarier 👀

Since Sam & Dean don't get paid, they need a way to make money for food & gas etc. So they were hustling the other pool players. Pretending to be too drunk to play, then beating them & take all their money. You will find out later WHY they wouldn't trade Sam's soul for Dean & why they wanted Dean in hell. The pictures Anna was drawing, The Raising of the Witnesses is from episode 2 & Samhain was from episode 7 of this season. September 18, 2008 is the date season 4 aired & the date printed on the newspaper Dean found when he at the gas station the day he was pulled out. Alistair "Don't you recognize me? Oh, I forgot. I'm wearing a pediatrician." Great line. Angels & demons both, have to possess bodies when on Earth since the are souls or spiritual beings. Angels won't take a body without permission. Demons just take. Castiel told Dean when they first met that he was possessing "a devoute man. He actually prayed for this." This & the next episode are 2 of my faves. I love this season! From Cora's granddaughter.

Yeah I completely missed the fact that they tried hustling the guy for money, even I was fooled by the boys but it makes complete sense🙈 I did recognise the pictures form the episode, it was a nice touch that she drew that. I didn’t realise that she season was released on the same day as they pulled him out, that’s cool! I do agree that what Alistair says is really funny😂 I’m glad the person got what they prayed for, but I wonder if they knew what I meant👀 I’m excited for you to see the next episodes, I hope you enjoy them!

This was a very good episode. It was great to get some back story on what happened to Sam while Dean was in Hell. I do like the way it played out. Even at the time I knew that getting Ruby in a 'empty body' was appeasing the fans that were very upset that Sam could 'trust' a demon knowing what Meg had told them earlier. I was not sure if the 'story changed' for the fans or not, but I completely bought this interpretation on what happened.

I really liked it!! The time when Dean was in hell was a bit of a gap that I really wanted to know more about so I’m glad they re told us - and I love the way they choose to do it.🥹 I like that Ruby changed body to one that made at least wasn’t a living person, sort of. It makes sense to me that it would bother Sam, and as you said especially since Meg. It was a nice detail that made a big difference!

Loved this episode! Poor Anna I feel so bad for her. Excited for the next reaction.

Hi, Cora. I'm still stupidly happy to see you back here! Regarding the lights flickering; remember how lights were exploding in the barn when Castiel made his grand entrance in Lazarus Rising? I'm not taking sides, just pointing out the possibility. Watching Sam's demeanor while Dean was in hell is all too close to how he acted out in Mystery Spot after the Trickster was revealed. So maybe we really do have to thank Ruby for pulling him back from the edge of that emotional cliff. Find something to hang on to, my dear. It's episode 9 and the ride is just getting started! 🫣😯😳????😇😈🤷

Awww you are too sweet😭❤️ I’m so hecking happy to be back! That’s a good point, I remember the lights going crazy when Castiel entered, I didn’t think about that being a possibility after that tho👀 Also so true! I was thinking about that during the trickster episode - that it showed Sam and Dean (and us) what would happen if Sam was left alone without Dean. It’s very similar so the trick he pulled on the boys also had a lot of truth to them. I love Ruby, and partially I trust her (who knows if this is a good idea lol), but I definitely think that even if she might have put him in another not so great situation, he would not have made it without her! LMAO I’ll have to buckle in - this season being this good this far, and it’s still a lot to go 😱

Sam and Dean always go to crazy lengths to save each other. It seems they cannot live their life without their brother by their side. Dean sold his soul to get Sam back, and a desperate, almost alcoholic Sam tried to do the same, only the demons were quite happy with having Dean in Hell and had no intention of accepting Sam's offer of a trade. As for Ruby, in my opinion, she definitely seduced Sam who was was in such a depressed conditions that he found it difficult to refuse her advances. I'm glad that he told Dean all about it though. At least that's another secret shared along with Dean's of remembering Hell. lol. Great reaction from you again. :)

They really do, and it’s hard to see them suffer so much without each other, but at the same time I love that their bond and love for each other is that strong. Sam tried to sacrifice himself for Dean, not only because Dean had made that sacrifice for him but because him being back and safe is worth more to him.😭 Ruby is such a confusing character for me, I partially trust her but I also don’t. I think she might have been the saviour for Sam during Deans time him hell, but she also got him in to doing other not so great things…😫 I’m so glad you liked it! Thank you for watching!

I like this episode a lot, especially because we get to see how much Ruby helped Sam. I also love seeing Dean finally starting to trust her, even a little bit. Because with Dean, that´s how you gain his trust: saving someone he loves.

It’s a really good one! Sam probably would have been much worse state of Ruby wasn’t there giving him hope and a path to walk, even if this means putting him in another situation that might not be so great. It’s nice to see Dean at least appreciate what she did for Sam and not want to fight her 😂 that is a really good way to earn trust that is true - although that makes me scared she is doing it on purpose 😱

I screamed like 'what the hell!?' when I first saw the cliffhanger in this episode😅 The bleeding statue was really scary, and Alastair was a badass😮 Thanks for another great reaction, and I wish for you to have wonderful weekend!

OMG I thought I recognised the title but I couldn’t place it! Not that I’ve seen the movie and I am a huge chicken but at least I have heard of it!🙌 Also that is such a good question, it’s really hard to pick but I have a tendency to really like the first people I see do a character so maybe the first Ruby will always feel like the best one. With that said I think the Ruby we have now do a great job, and I think she is really good at portraying Ruby!

I always hated Supernatural for these cliffhangers. They love 'em so much that they even have cliffhangers between episodes let alone seasons! 😅

I actually don't really like these two episodes, 9 and 10. I think Anna is interesting and so is Alastair. I do think the next episode is just a bit stronger than this one. There are other episodes I am waiting for, though. But glad you are enjoying the show. Have a great week.

That’s fair enough! This is a really strong season so I feel like there are plenty of episodes that are really good, maybe even in comparison. I really liked Anna though, she’s a cool addition and shows a lot of insight to how the angels work. I’m excited to watch those episodes though😍 have a great week (or maybe I should say weekend) you too!
