What a fighter, what a match! The warrior princess in her purest form.

I think El Sherbini might be the greatest sportswoman (or man) I have ever seen in any sport. She beats her nearest rivals when not fully fit and makes them look slightly inept when she is fully fit. She is clearly a ferocious competitor but is always sporting and gracious in victory and defeat. One can only sit back and admire her other worldly talent and skill. I'm guessing that Gohar has a different take on it! I miss the matches with Raneem El Welily. She was the only one who could get close.

She is one of those. for whom their assigned nickname is the absolute definition of appropriate. To play through to even make the final after her back went yesterday. I met her after the win last year, and he is a very determined and focused woman!

Inclined to agree. Her mental game lets her down too I feel. Sherbini and Hammamy both beat her regularly, and neither are particularly 'better' but they know how to win under adversity. I was at the final last year when Gohar retired unwell, it was quite the let down. Contrast to Sherbini who played through regardles and came back from 2-0 down to win against a fit opponent, and the difference is likely mental rather than physical. You need to do what's right for you of course, and I have no specifics over how severe Gohars issue was last year, but all the very top athletes find a way through somehow (whether that is right or wrong, isn't the debate here).

Go Go Gohar you were amazing

Nouran is just a technical mastermind but by God is Nour the best person to adjust her game in response. Unbelievable that she pulled a 0-2 comeback with a pulled back. Alexandria wins again, sigh.
