Been a while since I cared this much from just a highlight reel. Really wanted elshorbaggy to get that one!
Blimey, that was an intense match. The irresistible force versus the immovable object!
The match, and especially the rally at 5:05 - finally we got something like Elshorbagy and Ashour were producing during World Championships 2012 & 2014
What a colossal showdown. Both men gave it their all and reminded us that, for all the controversy they generate, they are capable of doing things no one else can. When Asal hits six shots in a match of which any ONE could be shot of the month, it's frustrating; he's like a pitcher with a 130 mph curveball who still insists on using pine tar.

I think he's improving on that score, not that he's remotely out of the woods yet given his deservedly terrible reputation. If anything, I'd say Elshorbagy was slow to clear and was blatantly blocking Asal in quite a few late game shots. Incredible athleticism on both sides.

@@danielnevin8777 Oh, no question. MoES was a jerk long before Asal and still is, but he's merely an 8 on a 1-10 scale. Asal goes up to 11. Still, Mostafa has kill shots that I've never seen out of MoES or anyone except maybe Ramy, but he hits them harder than Ramy. Hence why I brought him up as the source of more frustration. MoES is an all-time great but Asal has the talent to be the greatest of all time.
Wowwwww, what a match ! Two Titans Finaly we can apreciate Asal's posture with respect.

Great game. ME was amazing, but let himself down with those loose serves. He almost beat Asal though. One of the best matches I have ever seen.
At some parts during the match I was wondering if I had the video speed at 1.25, I had to look at the movements in the crowd to confirm I was watching at normal speed.
With two movers like these guys, you are bound to get some traffic issues. But to me, it seems that Asal has tone down a lot in his behavior, be in dragging feet or arguing. It is kept to a normal level, and I'm pretty happy to see that. His matches this year are much more watchable, and I think Drew has done a very good job here as well.

Is it me or are these highlights becoming less and less comprehensive recently? The last line from Joey there was “Shorbagy’s shaking his head there, furious about the decision previously”, but I’m pretty sure we never got to see that decision, so I’ve no idea what he’s furious about.

That was a good fight.
Could watch these 2 all day long.
Wow, looks like some match. I'll have to catch the replay. Great battle from both players.

7:39 - Mufasa xD I'd say Asal is more like Scar 🤣
Dear @squashtv, please make a "leisure centre" compilation.
Well done. Great Game. Good refereeing. Is it too early to say Asal is maturing ?? No blocking from him. Rather some from Elshorbaghy early on.
I know people dislike Asal (and I get why) and quite likely there was some bad behavior not shown here to justify it, but there should have been more applause for 7:04. A beautiful, beautiful shot - extremely rare to hit a shot that a well-prepared El Shorbagy can't even try to get, much less a slow, delicate one. 👏
Never liked asal but can’t take away from his skill great match

Credit where credit's due, Asal carried himself well, he appears to be maturing and learning that he can still be the Raging Bull force that he is and carry himself like a gentleman at the same time.
Mo only really getting anywhere once he got a bit more physical with Asal.
Respect Shorbagy this level at 33 yo
What everyone thinks about ref last night? More than 60 decision, way too many. In contrast Victor and Paul’s match had good flow, more gentleman style while maintaining very competitive

60 decisions, that's way too many.
For once the title description wasn't a spoiler! I was expecting a Shorbagy comeback because of the title and was annoyed till near the end thinking that they ruined it.
The title of the video is doing unjust to Asal. As soon as you read it, you are misguided to believe Asal has made incorrect body movements again to influence the game. (SPOILER FROM THIS POINT). However, he did not. Even after a couple of unrightful decisions in ElShorbagy his favor, Asal still came out as the winner. I hope SquashTV can be mindful about how much a title like this can influence the public.

Can't stand the screaming! Can you imagine that sort of screaming in a Grand Slam tennis match. Absolutely ridiculous. Whether he's passionate, competitive whatever you want to say, it is disrespectful the opponent. It HAS to be clamped down on otherwise we'll see a generation of young players thinking it's okay! Yes a talented player but horrible, horrible celebrations. It actually puts the game into disrepute that no one is dealing with this.

It's shocking that people defend this behaviour however good the player.
