Halo Season 2 has been much better than Season 1, but I still have a few gripes with the show. With that said the S2 Finale is the best episode by a country mile, and I'm really hoping Paramount/343 continue with more episodes like this if we do get a Season 3. The show has some serious potential now, I hope they don't waste it!

Viewers and reviewers need to be mindful of the budget the studio is working with….they are obviously trying to appease both the casual audience and hard core Halo gamers and they’re doing this with a limited funding….theatrical filler episodes are to be expected….hopefully the success of this show will enable a big budget movie release with a budget to match…..overall I think season two was a resounding success

I’m happy that Season 3 will be a Combat Evolved type story. I just hope the broken visor isn’t Chief’s new permanent look for the season though

The finale was incredible and a big reason is that they had better writing and setup throughout the entire season. I'm so excited for season 3.

You are super delusional

The coin to me was him maybe beginning to see the power he has, which is his natural luck. The element of landing the coin on one side every time would really require some sort of luck. I think him flipping the coin was a way to highlight that the Spartans that are currently dying on the ship aren’t as fortunate as him. And he felt compelled to help, as you say, because thats what the master chief would do.

There is a reason the halo community is negative about things. Denying any negative criticism is called toxic positivity and its what's dooms a franchise to mediocrity. Halo is not in a good state right now and the past 10 years have been many people valid reasons to be negative about halo. I don't like it, I love halo. But I have to accept that 343 and Microsoft haven't handle the franchise in the best way which lead to this being the case

Agree 100 percent with your assessment of this episode and the show in general. After watching Halo Declassified, it does not feel like a season 3 is coming. The cast seemed to be saying goodbye and neither the host or the producer even mentioned it.

Finally felt like i was actually watching Halo. Still some off stuff but god damn that episode was amazing.

I love how from the episode the clip showing his eyes up close really looked like the chief face reveal with his eyes/nose at the end of Halo4 that close up really looked like that part, also when he was on the Halo with the helmet adjacent from his leg/pose referencing from infinite picture at 4:35 😎👏🏼

I loved the season. Unlike the first one, I could enjoy another take on the halo lore. This last episode was fantastic!

I've been 5hitting on the show so far... you've convinced me to watch this ep. I really hope you're right and this leads us in combat evolved season 3...

About that coin flipping scene, I remember something from the lore that was there in the training if I remember correctly (I don't exactly remember the details so correct me if I'm wrong), when someone is standing before him and asked him if he could decide his fate which is when the coin came in and was flipped, and John holds that coin mid-air, as if to tell that he does, in fact, make his own fate. Looks like this version of Master Chief is actually not completely lost on everyone!

This episode was so damn good, it had everything we wanted in the show from the beginning. We're in for a treat if they keep this up and get the appropriate budget to do S3 right.

yeah man. nailed it. I am SO happy with season 2. And giving us a little glimpse of Flood forms that will be a huge story point in Season 3... fucking great. Also, Onyx is a sheild planet! They give you such a short glimpse of it, totally awesome head nod to the books. There were several of those this season. Lots of inspiration for story threads pulled from novelizations. Wicked awesome.

Kai's not dead. For sure she is pulling what Chief did end of Halo 2. We had no idea how hed survive floating through space until he found that ship, and crash landed onto a planet Halo 3. Kinda cool when you think about it. Whoever wrote episode 8, I hope they give that guy a raise.

Love the fact that the finale felt EARNED instead of just being. This is what the purist can't understand when thinking a TV SERIES can just be 1:1 with a mere Video Game CAMPAIGN. Everything about the finale was earned and paid off epically! Don't know anyone who watched MC going next level and not lose their shit because that moment was EARNED!

The new director and creative ppl for this season was a very welcome change! I’m glad they got rid of the Crew from S1, as they were not knowledgeable about how Halo should translate to the screen at all. LFG S3!!!! 😇 💍

It was a little weird to me basically like 80% of the enemies are Elites with swords. Not all elites wield swords lol, and where are the grunts lol

i love the tamer, skin-color flood mutations. It's a lot more in theme with body horror and it reminds me of Halo Evolutions: the Mona Lisa. That being said, I DO still want to see the traditional flood forms.

I hope for season three they focus more on Chief I think that’s the best part of the show it should be a master chief show not a halo show. For season three I would like it to be about Chief and maybe Perez and the spartan IIIs but the Kwan ha story line and Soren I think are unnecessary.

People are so used to this slop that the moment they do something even remotely “decent” it’s praised this show should’ve been animated they clearly didn’t have the budget to do anything that we haven’t already seen done better. It’s wild people can so easily turn their brains off to enjoy something that is so obviously a spit in the face to actual Halo fans that made the franchise what it is today enough for them to wanna make a show about it the death of a franchise ladies and gentlemen and no the normies who watched this show cause it was added to a subscription service they already own isn’t gonna bring players into the games or bring any noticeable change in the way Halo is perceived by the culture it’s simply a cash grab that doesn’t aim to do anything except cash out and tell its own story that no one asked for.

What they did, not only with the final episode of this season, but in general, is pure massacre of the series. How did the flood spread? A biologist goes around groping people ??? wtf biologist! Huan manages to get away with it because she's some space magician because she got a gift from a god wtf is she even interested in, redundant, uninteresting and boring character in the show. In the end Maki turned out to be a demon wtf only master chief is a demon, if anyone remembers what the arbiter said in Halo 4, it was an insult but also a sign of respect to be called a demon...

I absolutely loved season 2 and I hope they green light season 3 and 4!!!!! It’s a 10/10 SOOO GREAT

They need to make 4 or 5 Seasons showing The Human-Covenant War just like we could see the REAL Master Chief with Blue Team, Noble Team and other Spartan II's and III's then the 1st Halo movie needs to be 3-Hours Long and Based on Halo: Combat Evolved video game showing Master Chief with the colorful Green Suit, Cortana looking 100% like the games, Captain Keyes being White, The Halo Ring, more Covenant action, 343 Guilty Spark, The Flood then Future other Movies could each be Based on the other games.

at least the first, the fourth and this last episodes worth it.

While I was ticked off about the show initially being a different timeline, having come to terms with it, I’m fine with it’s story being deviated from the main timeline, but some things should always remain the same. Kinda annoyed that Reach was finished off-screen, but here’s hoping Season 3, if it happens, will follow along the lines of CE’s story, and I’m okay with little deviations from the main canon

Paramount Plus is likely to go away soon, and that they won’t renew this mess. This coming from a 20 year Halo fan, it’s like seeing a hurt animal and you just want to help out it out if it’s misery.

Every single thing they decided to do make this show different from the games story sucks horribly. Everything they do to be as close to the games as possible rocks. and I hate having a love hate relationship with this show because I want to love it all the time. but sadly I skipped the last 4 episodes because its terrible.

While some of it is cool it is still a complete mess I mean they are just through out all these famous parts of Halo but with no proper build up or time to have these major elements sink in for the audience . It all feel like it was written by an AI program.

Reach was never really established as an important location. The flood had zero meaningful buildup. The series still has a weird obsession with space witches. The writing in this show still feels so sloppy in my opinion.

The buildup to the flood was Kwan's storyline. Reach falls quickly in every version except the game.

@@nosai10 That’s why I wrote “meaningful buildup” in the original comment. Having The Flood tied to space witches and Kwan doesn’t feel meaningful. They just show up and the show gets a horror theme for half an episode. I have no trouble with Reach falling quickly. An entire season of Reach falling would be hard to pull off. My trouble is that Reach is never established as Humanity’s last stronghold against an unstoppable enemy. Nobody seems to really care about the planet’s probably destruction until it’s just about to happen.

Or if it establishes the amount of dread that the end of AotCR and 343 Guilty Spark set up in the short amount of time they had to build it up. You’re ignoring the word “meaningful” that I’ve mentioned twice again. I’m sure that if the flood in the show were set up as effectively as… I don’t know the Jenkins video logs, everyone would remember it. As it stands, nothing in the show has been as effective or terrifying as the flood’s setup in the first game. The show is abrupt and boring. But it’s not nostalgia driving opinion, it’s a genuinely lackluster setup and introduction for what’s supposed to be the end-all-be-all enemy of the first trilogy.

Episode 7 of season 2 with ominous red lights over the stars showing how the flood took over the forerunner planets. Now what setup did the game have compared to this? A video log 30 seconds before you fight the flood is not setup.

Very good episode. But the rest of the show is still awful.

I hope the show gets cancelled before they touch the trilogy, cause then there is still hope in the future we get good content

I appreciate you actually representing the show as it deserves to be represented. I've been watching the reviews of the show by HaloFollower and HiddenXperia over the course of the season and they just continuously lie about what happens in the show and misrepresent it in the worst possible light. They know their viewers hate the show and aren't watching it, so they know they can get away with blatantly lying because their audience will absolutely eat it up. But you always have a much more reasonable view of the show, and I appreciate that. I'm really excited to see where season 3 goes
