That's Me (There's Me) - Dawn Buckland - The New Starlight Express - London 1992

Dawn Buckland (u/s Dinah)
When Caboose was cut from the London production in 1992, choreographer Arlene Phillips fought for "There's Me" to be kept. For 3 weeks during previews of The New Starlight Express, "There's Me" was sung by Graham Martin's Dustin in place of Caboose, then by Dinah alone under the title "That's Me".

If I had to choose someone other than CB to sing this, I would have chosen Flat-Top.

Cutting CB/RC/Caboose was the worst plot revision the show had ever seen. It's like cutting Tuco out of "the Good, the Bad & the Ugly!" Obviously, someone eventually figured it out, since he has found his way back into every production (the on ice version being the exception) since the "new (aka kiddy) starlight express" in some form or another.

Cutting CB ruined this show! It was essentially the equivalent of saying, "hey!,.. let's take all that kinda negative and potentially scary stuff out of the neverending story!!!"
