That's A Long Way Down! I Got A Flat Riding Down From The Top of Whistler Mountain

Спорт

Jokes on me, I knew this was going to happen when I looked at my spare tube and decided not to bring it with me! Either way I had to make to the bottom of Whistler one way or another, and it certainly made for an entertaining ride down. For what it's worth, the trails we rode were Top of the World, Million Dollar, to Spignar, to Call me Maybe with guest appearances from Remy Metailler, Trevor Burke, Andrew Cho, Hans Rey, Mike Giese.

I forget where it was, maybe someplace in NC or maybe Windrock, and on his way up he said "I'm gonna take it easy" then literally a minute later he inadvertently entered a race ... Anyway, he crashed and his bars were all jacked up, so again he said "I gotta take it easy" and kid not, with his bike all messed up he was still going faster than 99% of us.

Siiick riding! To ride at "Remy speed" THAT well, on a flat tire (thank God for Cush Core) is superior riding skill.

To be fair, Remy was always on the front tire of every rider...except when Phil was leading lol. I think Remy could of went faster if he wanted too.

@@benlittlechilds1192check out Remy's pov in his upload. No flat Phil was hauling and Remy wasn't holding back.. They couldn't catch him until he had a flat but even with little air they still couldn't keep up. Of course with a blind run and a dusty af it's understandable I think.. Lol

@@lamefart I saw it…he was weirdly fast there. I think though Remi is at a different level then Phil…even though I think Phil could still compete in racing…I love that he still rides a bit reckless…my kinda style.

@@benlittlechilds1192Of course. Remy is an elite full on freerider while Phil isn't but racing? Phil can hold his own against Remy. Weirdly fast huh? Have you seen him ride Schoolhouse Ridge blind in Pisgah? He's on a different level than remy in that regard. Remy is a cautious rider while Phil is more like Seth, more YOLO shenanigans. Lol

I've learned from experience to always have a pump, tools and tube with me, especially at bike parks. More often than not the flats happen in inconvenient places and usually no one else carries anything (as witnessed in this video). Even if just to be able to leisurely ride down without risking damage to the wheel, at least I know I'll be at beer quicker, compared to stumbling with your bike down some hot ass steep access road. Plus when paying for lift tickets, which all seem to be getting more expensive now, the last thing I want to do is waste time walking around and not riding :)
