It means like being a brown nose or kiss arse. It came from Crouch being on the training pitch having a drink of a water with his team but a couple of players would choose to have some face time with the manager or coaches instead so the other players joked that the player must be thirsty or ‘parched’ 😂

You've spelt it correctly. It's an old podcast story, essentially "parched" was a nick name for a Stoke City player who was the biggest teacher's pet with the manager. I think it was Charlie Adam if I recall correctly. So in this case, Odegaard is the parched of Arsenal since he goes out of his way to speak Spanish to Arteta and essentially beg it

@@losangeles9320 Only if you listen to the podcast. In this original parched story, it was during a preseason in a very hot country, and during the water breaks Charlie Adam spent his time sitting with/brown nosing the manager instead of drinking water, hence the nickname "Parched".

It was the player who would declare thirst (hence the 'parched' reference) run over to the coaches for the drink and chat tactics as a way of skiving off training. He is the best and worst goalkeeper in the space of a week. He gets upnfor the big matches but wow when he is bad je is really bad. One of the worst keepers i have ever seen but i think at a world cup could do great things
