I can't explain how absolutely brutal this scene was in 1995.
@Original-Juice

the build up is epic too. Some of the audio gets transferred into a slow delivery of sound, the English soldiers grabbing the horses reigns and when Wallace grabs the weapon from his back. Brilliant cinematography and audio. The music and audio in this scene is what makes the Braveheart Soundtrack one of the greatest of all time.

Exactly: The scene leading up to this moment, his eyes have the same mad look. The bad guys are just happy to get him submitted and dealt with, and they they roll a 1 on Inspect, with a DC of 5 _at best_ The fact that they are so power drunk, and don't realize what they did would have these consequences, makes this scene all the sweeter.

@@BH02377 Why hijack a real historical character to tell a fictional story? It just muddies the waters for anyone trying to learn a bit more about that period. Game of Thrones told a good story without trying to pretend it was real life.

The movie was based on a folk tale, not on actual facts... and the movie never claimed to be historicly accurate, it's a movie not a documentary

Braveheart is on another level. I would say Bravehert, Apocalypto and The Passion of the Christ are the best from Mel Gibson. Have a movie marathon with them three, epic.

When the home movie came out, I had just bought a Bose lifestyle 12 system. I loved watching this movie with how great the sound was. Jurassic Park was also around the same time. This movie is more about the sound than it is about the visual elements.
REMINDS ME OF JAMIE OROURKE AND GREG PETERS FIGHTING BLAIN MULDOON AND LANCE TUCKER !! 😂😂😂
It's wonderful how all those years ago the English were still polite enough to queue up and attack you one at a time.
