    U have to remember about you should compare prises to salaries . If you have minimal pension around 1800$ they have 300 $ .6 times less then in Usa do , what means prises in Russia should be 6 times less then in the USA .Are they ? Nope , what means folks have poor life . They have not money to buy items .

    The US importer has to pay the government tariffs on chinese good and no way they will absorb that cost. The distributor chains won't absorb it either and will probably use the chance to blame tariffs to raise prices slightly more Then the transport costs went up because the US refused to stop helping the Israeli mass bombings, pissing off the Houthis. Followed by the mass printing of the USD which just made its real value shrink. If you travelled to China and bought something you could find locally, you would get the actual cost and find out how much more you are paying

    But the average income is much lower in Russia than in the USA, so you have to look at their prices as a percentage of their disposable income. I think that's why Dan identifies many things that he says are too expensive.

    Dan himself said that half or less than half of Russians are car owners. Clearly they make less money than Americans do.

  • @thomasottvideos

    @thomasottvideos

    Ай бұрын

    Actually, the cost of goods and services in Russia are relative to Russia's AVERAGE national income. The average national income in Russia is 1,240,000 RUB, which equals $14,000 in the USA. By comparison, the average annual income in the USA is $59,000 (5,200,000.00 RUB). So, when Dan calls out "cheap" prices in Russian stores, those prices "seem" to be a bargain by the USA's average annual income standards. By Russian economic standards, the prices are relatively expensive. The reality is that a $14,000 equivalent income in Russia doesn't go that far. So, that seemingly cheap $5.00 bottle of Russian liquor is similar to purchasing a $20.00 bottle of cheap liquor in the USA. In other words, all that glitters is not gold. °°°

They made the aisles smaller, two carts used to be able to pass each other, and now they cannot. You also could get many varieties of items, now they are much the same. Your stores seem more like ours 20/30 years ago. "They" are making your country into consumer one too. You can get it now, but quality and variety will continue to deteriorate. Hello from Cincinnati Ohio!! The grocery store you showed us is comparable to our stores called Costco and Sam’s Club. They sell a lot of items in bulk. Your prices seem comparable to ours or even a little less. It’s interesting seeing how a lot of things in your country are like ours. We are all alike ! Love to you and your family ❤

    This store is just like the superstores in the US and in many other countries. I currently live in Thailand and we have those stores, too. One thing that makes me sad is that I am afraid so many things are becoming the same that, eventually, there will be no reason to travel.

    Hello Dan! Peanuts are a not the word for every nut! The first kind you put in your cart for Sati were Cashew nuts, the 2nd were Almonds, good for the brain are called Walnuts and Peanuts are small little "nuts" but they are actually legumes like beans! So if you talk about any nut just say nuts not Peanuts okay :) Blessings to you and the family! PS try to find BASMATI or JASMIN rice both are asian rice and soooooo good!!
