Glad to see you have a mobile office now! Independent techs are in-demand and in my are I work on all types of passenger and light duty. 8-5 at the dealer and 5-8 in my driveway or the customers. Finding the correct balance is the hardest part being tech and customer service and parts can get overwhelming but the pride associated with a job well done cannot be matched. I look forward to more content. Thanks Josh I have learned a lot thus far!!! 🔥

MORE ON THE ROAD CARNAGE :)
Dogs, trains, cats not firing, well rounded video. 👨🔧👍💪
The responsibility of being your own employer is really terrifying at first, but with great responsibility comes great freedom!
I always look forward to those “WHAT?!” moments in your videos. 😁
If you love diesel engines there is nothing better than the sound of a passing freight train.

No thanks. There is a train that passes every 1 - 2 hours right next to the shop I work at and at this point I'd rather not hear another train for the rest of my life.
Glad you’re sticking around going independent. I donated last night PayPal friends and family

Could you imagine that??? Josh would be following the specs, doing it right and Warren would be bitching he's doing it wrong, you don't need the specs. That would last an hour, tops. lol

Way to go Josh. All my favorite KZreadrs have gone out on their own now. All of them un-appreciated by their employer.
You may have heard of this before, but we had an issue with a slightly newer series c7 heui. Customer had it at cat shops and dealers. They put a couple sets of injectors and kept having the heui pump max out and stick after a few thousand miles. Ended up at our shop and we found the pump was stuck going to full pressure regardless of it plugged in etc. We put a new pump on and it ran flawlessly. Thinking the problem was wierd we cut the filter and tested for metal in the system. All came back good. The customer ran the truck about a month and then said it would lose power and throw IAP codes and eventually began maxing out the pump again. Got it back and the heui pump seemed to be stuck maxed out again. Told my guy to pull the oil line feed off the pump and crank the engine after the truck was hot, only a trickle of oil came out. Engine oil pressure was around 20psi when hot, 50psi cold. Put 10w-30 in it and it no longer would run unless it was completely cold, and even then it would only run for a minute. Had mechanic pull the pan and check the oil pump. Oil pump had that idler gear between the crank and the oil pump drive. The feed for the Heui partially comes from the same passage lubricating that gear bushing. That bushing was gone. Replaced the lpop and new gear and bushing.... and another heui pump... and seems to have solved the issue. Now we have 75psi cold and still 20psi hot. The heui feed stream is really good now.
On your own? I did that 14 years ago. Lasted 2 weeks and started farming full time. 🤣 It was a regular job for a while as I was getting started farming. I still do a few jobs to help people out per year. I don't charge for them anymore. Best decision I ever made. Trouble shooting strange problems is still one of my favorite things to do.
Hi Josh, I’ve been watching your channel for a while. I’m really happy for you that you’ve moved on. I watched your last video about when you left the dealership and before this video came I was thinking that you were going to go out on your own I’m really happy for you. We need good mechanics out there. It’s hard to find But I know you’re a good mechanic just by watching your shows in your ability and knowledge. Keep the good videos coming out. I enjoy the entertainment and the learning from everything that you’re showing once again congratulations. Take care and be safe.
As a Canadian I’ve taken that drive many times back in my produce hauling days your correct it’s beautiful year round
Out on your own...been there done that, good luck. When I did my own thing I never looked back or regretted the move.
It's a nice start Josh!
Josh, you are a great American! All the best to you and your future success.

I absolutely love that drive up there. I lived in St. Maries for a while and Priest River.
I am glad you are back at it even if you are on your own. It would be great if you could work on my 3126B in an M1079A1. Too bad I am in NC.
Good luck on your self-employment’ “Keep up the good work”! I enjoy all your videos

Good luck on your own, you have the skill to do well, as long as you can get paid, and the bad pay guys are few and far between!!!
Excellent field service video . Keep going with the new approach and videos. ❤
Glad you’re on your own actually like this video better
Great to see your still getting dirty. All the best. Hope you get plenty of (paying) jobs.
I'm digging it! Not a diesel guy at all but I enjoy your videos. Thank you!
Stay on your purpose!💯💯💯💯
Yeah dude 🤚 you’re on the path to huge success.
Nice job Josh!! Looking forward to more videos like this,
I had nearly an exact situation on a grader with a heui engine. The engine would crank and would almost start but never would. IAP was 4500-5000psi during cranking. Verified with a gauge. After many days of troubleshooting including pulling all injectors to verify bottom orings weren’t blown out. Then replaced the pump. Fired up and ran fine. Pressure was back to normal. However the pump controls the pressure must have been stuck at max psi. Keep up the good videos.
Glad lap top is working, good job on getting one. PPM = number of chopper teeth X axle ratio X tire revs. The outer seal should be a back up if the inner seal starts to leak. Well it sounds good on paper, not sure if it will work actually. Other option, PPM is determined by: tire revolutions per mile, rear axle ratio, and number of chopper teeth on the drive shaft where the sensor is mounted. (See formula at end of chart.) Thus, if any one of these three variables is not the same as what has already been used to predetermine the PPM, then the PPM data used by PEEC will not be correct. It has been learned that the number of chopper teeth can vary even if the transmission model is the same. Tire revolutions and axle ratios can be obtained, but the chopper wheel is internal. Any incorrect PPM can be corrected without knowing the number of chopper teeth. 1. Determine the actual ground speed with a wheel dynamometer, or stop watch, or an accurate speedometer. 2. Divide the speed displayed by ET by the actual speed, and multiply this answer times the speed calibration parameter already programmed in the electronic control module (ECM). This is the corrected PPM that should be used for the new parameter. For example, The ET speed reading is 55 mph, the actual speed is 65 mph, and the programmed speed calibration parameter is 29836 PPM. Correct PPM = (55 divided by 65) times 29836. Correct PPM = 25246 PPM. Program 25246 PPM into the ECM with the ET and the correct speed should be displayed.
I think you did right! Your own service truck to do your own service calls!
Was just in Coeur d’alene looking at a diesel this last weekend. Idaho is good country
I had no idea you lived in or near the panhandle of Idaho. I used to live in Post Falls and CDA. I'll watch more often.
Congrats on your new adventure
How appropriate, dealing with my 3126 that has a dead ecm in my Kenworth and also had no download ever done. Borrowed the ecm off my old Freightliner to run it for now, so this will help me get the tach reading right.
I figured you got into mobile service! thats awesome!
I've seen a few 3508 engine oil coolers in D11N's that look like that. The ball in the thermostat vent valve comes out and falls down into the cooler water inlet side. It is too big to fit down the tubes so just bounces around and peans the tubes over. Complaint is engine over heats after a few hours work on very hot days doing hard work like ripping.👍
Happy to see this, I bet you'll find you're making more independently than you were at Cat. Not sure what you ended up with for a work truck (or if it's a stopgap vs. permanent) but I'm sure we're all hoping it's Cat powered and would like to see a video on it when you've got it sorted out.
Welcome to the Wonderful world of mobile mechanic
Congrats Josh! Keep the content coming!
You definitely will do alot better on your own I worked 1 year for a shop after high school in 2012 after that been doing road service couple years now working from my own property Good luck in New beginnings it's not easy at all but it's fun

Super happy and excited for you to be out on your own. I saw your video before this and instantly thought you’d do your own thing. Keep it up my man!
