Hats off to the workers who dug that deep well.. They deserve appreciation forever.. After seeing this video, l came to know the importance of the water and decided to use the water carefully without wasting..

Amazing video that surprised me how this water-well , 400ft deep underground, was constructed!

A simple safety reminder, Use a stopper rope line to prevent the water rope fr slipping into the well.

Do they even make a solar pump that would pump that deep?!!!!? That was a lot of work for that bag of water. How many more after that did he need for the camel as well as his family of course? Great job.

How did they dig this well? Quite a task.

It is responsibility of every one to do something for people of Thar that facing a lot of problems such as water problems health and education problems etc

I don't know which one to call desert, in Bangalore for water bore well needs 1000 feet depth . At least in thar water is available at 400 feet.

Sir in Thar Desert there is only well, but in bangalore everyhome has one borewell as though govt has given connection underground, obviously this will be situation. Be grateful you are still gettng water n blore.

Ute to those who discovered water lines todig this wellin a desert. It was rare art without use of any instruments

I think this is in bhawalpur , my brother use to live in bhawalpur as a inspector rangers , He told us , thay pull out the water with the camels 🐪 into the wells , now I saw the video at least 45 years after , I am feeling how the life is difficult , duaago from canada 🇨🇦.

What happens if the rope falls in?

The well probably was started way long ago in a more arid climate. In dry periods people had to survive and dug deeper to reach lower ground water levels. Looks like over ages that level has reached it's lowest point...

Time team season 8 E12 Winchester, Hampshire mid evil well over 550 feet deep and they hadn't hit bottom and had to call in experts too finish it off

These wells are hundreds of years old, dug before machines were there, but surprisingly, they are using it the same way still on 21st century

Bahut kuch accha ho sakta hai. Pehle to tubelwell lagaya jaa sakta hai, ya machune ka tap water bhi kicha jaa sakta hai. Idhar garmi ka phaeda to hoga.

Do any of you realize that this well was most Likely dug by hand and if it goes dry someone will go down on rope to dig deeper...... You must love the quality of that water they brought up and that the top of the well is open to contaminates Sorry but with a tiny brain and less work you can have much better if you have only desire ......

jolllyroger1 It is dug by Hand ... this is a desert area the Quality of water is so bad that you would not want it to even taste it, yet it is the lifeline of the local community, they drink it and give it to their livestock.

Handpump does not have the power to suck 400 fot deep water

Someone get them a chain pump. Please.

A pump and a long hose (not even a pipe) is needed here, and it could be easily powered by two or three solar arrays, since there's clearly no power anywhere near there. This is neat and nostalgic, but today it's kind of like pissing on your own shoe. There's no just need.
