Just for clarification, the USA owns about 2/3's of the national debt, most indirectly in various kinds of retirement accounts. The remaining 1/3 is owned internationally, but while China owns almost a third of it, at $1.07T, interestingly Japan owns more at $1.26T. If interested, all of this information is publicly available from the Fed.

Ya, I understand that the national debt is much more complex than I make it in this video. After all, all money is federal debt. It is impossible for the fed to have zero debt unless they collected all cash in existence. My understanding is most debt is owned by the federal reserve as they can just print/create money out of thin air (most money is not actually printed but just in ledgers/electronic). The printing or creating of money by the federal reserve applies upward pressure on inflation rates. Rising inflation rates push investors into higher gain assets as they don't want to be overtaken by inflation. To reduce upward pressure on inflation the federal reserve can sell bonds to recollect money. Right now the government wants more inflation. Fortunately for the US most other countries and people trust the dollar as a gold standard in currency so they are happy to accept the excess currency thus keeping inflation low. However, if the dollar ever looses this gold standard or others come to collect on their debt the US will experience a lot of inflation. I just hope this trust in the dollar keeps going or the US will be in a world of hurt. This is my actual view but that would take a long boring time to explain in a video. If my view is incorrect feel free to enlighten me.

Construction. Home building and remodeling is going crazy right now. I don't think lumber prices have ever been higher.

By the way, unemployment benefits are run by the state not the feds. Washington State is one of the most generous with unemployment. Other states will have different max payouts, requirements for looking for work, and benefit amounts. However, the extra $300 (used to be $600) per week is a federal thing so everyone on unemployment gets that.

Completely agree. The government has basically legalized robbery. They take taxes from some by force and borrow money from those not even born yet and give it to people that don't care if they cheat the system. It actually isn't cheating because it is completely legal. It makes me mad.

Sorry, Just telling you my experience. Maybe I am wrong but from my perspective it makes no sense to contribute to society right now. If you are saying I don't understand the national debt well, I know the national debt really much more complex. All money is actually federal debt and the federal reserve can print/create money at will. Most money is not printed but is purely on the books. By printing/creating money the true cost of that is an increase in inflation which is the goal of many in power. Sadly inflation actually decreases the value of the pay that the poor and middle class make and the rich are largely sheltered from inflation by owning assets. Fortunately, since US currency is considered such a benchmark in world economics virtually all other countries trust US currency to such an extent that they will absorb that extra money thus limiting inflation. However, if other nations do someday decide to not trust US currency to the same extent or want to exchange our currency for others, the US will experience a lot of inflation at that point. I just hope that the faith in the US dollar stays strong to prevent massive inflation. I hope the people in power have made the right decision to print/create massive amounts of money. I also understand why Jay Inslee is doing this. State government is always trying to bring in as much federal money as possible. By making unemployment as easy as possible he is increasing the federal dollars flowing into Washington State. This is something he can us as proof he is helping the people of Washington as will help the economy of Washington State at the expense of those states that didn't try so hard to collect federal dollars. This is my true view but that was too complex to put in this video so I simplified. It may still be incorrect and you are welcome to correct me.

I haven’t watched the whole vid yet but politics is OKAY to talk about. But only if they’re normal and are left wing, and not the demented mess the right wing in America has become. As a European looking into American politics it’s a crying shame just how dumb the right wing has become over there. In my younger days the left was seen as the uneducated side, but nothing they ever did was as dumb as Trumpism. And that’s that. It’s terrible that the vast vast majority of the right wing just became Trump fanatics. They’ve even nicknamed him the “Great Emperor Of The US” - so cringey and worrying. In conclusion. Politics are fine so long that you’re not one of those vocal minorities that likes Trump too much. Even though he lost big style.
