Knicks fan here but the Blazers have been my second favorite team because of Dame and the amazing Portland fan base. It's a doggone shame it got to this point. I wish he had been able to play with the Blazers for his entire career but I 100% get why he asked out (ahem, was pushed out). Shame. He and the Portland faithful deserved better. Even after seeing all the posts and videos of him being in a different city & uniform, I'm still trying to process everything and don't think this is real but I know it is actually happening. This is going to be a tough one and I'm not sure how I am going to react to when he is not on the court in the Moda Center for the season opener. Dame, you created a lifetime of memories here in PDX, on and off the court. I hope you know that if you ever do return to Rip City, there will be a lot of people, including myself, welcoming you back home. He refused to play if they didn’t accommodate his public trade request. There is absolutely nothing classy about that imo. He didn’t diss the organization because he didn’t have a reason to. That did right by him as he did them. Him refusing to take the court in a blazers jersey is garbage. It won’t hurt his reputation as much as it should but people getting this a little twisted. It wasn’t classless but it most def wasn’t classy either.
