When you pass that bridge and are photographed by tourists, you also become the local scenery, so interesting! "The Bridge on the River Kwai" is a good movie. The construction of the Thai-Myanmar Railway by British soldiers in Japanese prisoner-of-war camps is a real story. Because of that movie that the bridge became a famous attraction! The colorfulness of Thai temples is well known, and they look especially beautiful in your video! Your father was a great explorer, I admire his energy! Love you and your parents, thank you very much for sharing! 👍🥰🙏🙌

What a great tour that you created. I grew up in Sangklaburi as a little girl. The train only went as far as Kanchanaburi and the remaining trip took days by boat. The temples didn’t exist in my day. This was truly a treat for me to see. Thank you so much for sharing. My heart Is full!

Brilliant video! I went to Kananchabury on a three day tour out of Bangkok. I walked the bridge and at the end, said a little prayer for all those who perished in the construction of the Death Railway. There's a huge cemetery nearby with the prisoners of war. I was sad to see people taking selfies on that bridge and not being very aware or maybe not caring about the awful history behind it. As to the caves- I didn't get to see those, really fascinating but I would have run out at the first sign of a bat- they give me the creeps 😱 I stayed in a nearby raft house which was MY highlight of the trip! Unforgettable...

Your travel videos are among the best on KZread. Wondering what you’ll both do when you’ve decided you’ve had enough traveling! Consider doing a tour of Hawaii someday haha. It probably looked “dry” in the fields because harvest season in Thailand is December to January and you just saw the fields after they were cultivated and waiting to be replanted in the spring. If you notice, the areas outside of the cultivated fields are very green.

Brings back memories of our family holiday to Thailand. The movie was beautiful made and brought the characters of three main protagonists exceptionally well. Contrary to popular belief, large parts of the movie was filmed in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Good to see how much the infrastructure has improved in Kanchanaburi and how well it is maintained. The climb to the caves is a serious workout. I hope you guys go to Chiang Mai and Chaing Rai...it's so different from the touristy places in Thailand. Thanks for sharing your videos.

Many Pows(commonwealth forces) and malayans were forced to build the bloody bridge. With little food, diseases like malaria, they died. The movie, bridge on the river kwai, showed partial truth but it did made people understand the suffering.

Hiya. Always informative. Seen videos of people walking on the bridge. But not riding the train across. Some of the track is crazy looking. Very sad the number of people that died. I love watching your content. Roll on 300K. Said for years your channel is so underrated. Those stairs were a workout. Amazing. To have the cave to yourself. Those caves went in deep. You and your dad were brave to go that far. And you to the viewpoint. Stairs. 😅I bet there are not many people. That was brave to go the way you went. You picked the perfect time to have some of these places to yourself. Great video. Gorgeous views. Perfect tunes. Thank you for sharing. See you next time. Have a wonderful week.

Yes, they were lucky to have visited there with few to no tourist. I remember my friend went to one of these caves with her sister. Her sister didn’t continue at the start of it but my friend continued without knowing what happened. Because of how humid and tight it was, she only thought of escaping the ordeal. There was no chance for her to go back to find out of her sister because it was packed with tourists. All she can do was advancing ‘till she reached the end and saw light outside.

I saw another vlogger featuring this place but it didn’t show the bridge and the train. I thought the only way to go there as a tourist is by renting a private transportation. Now I know, you could take a train from Bangkok. I will keep in mind that temple caves includes climbing stairs and going thru the intricacies of the cave itself but you still have the option of not taking yourself further. Going into these caves is not for people with knee and back problems. Even for a slight feeling of claustrophobia, it’s not advisable. Thanks for showing it. Can’t wait to see the waterfalls.

It’s quite right that it is called the Death Railway (over 400km long)because of the high mortality rate of the Allied Prisoners of War and the Asian native workers. However, by far the highest number of deaths did not occur at the Bridge over the Kwai area. The most notorious areas were up country and deep in the uninhabited jungle. My father was a POW on the railway in BOTH the “Kwai” camp and in several of the jungle camps around Hellfire Pass.
