I wish slicing builds became viable again. At least targeting more important

The only reason you should use lbg over hbg is for the evade reload...... but you are not using it (demonlord beast buster is infinitely better than aquashot if both uses normal reload). Sheath time is negligible (especially if you factor in health regen)....

If you use evade reload you dont need as many defensive skills since you are constantly moving and dodging. This gives you more room for slugger or more offensive skills to hit damage cap

Huh....it’s an interesting setup; one I haven’t seen for sticky LBG. Granted, I like hitting the sticky cap, but it is nice to see a set that isn’t so damage focused. I‘ll have to try this! 😁 Thanks for the build, TGC

Ok so ignoring the fact that you've lost a ton of damage, a few problems i have: Power Barrel is 10% increase in KO power. Slugger 1 is 20%... Dropping an Atk V awakening really isn't worth it when you've already dropped so much damage. Also the reload assists... just use Evade Reload. Evade reloading sideways is about as fast as a Fast reload, so much better than getting to slow reload. There's so much wasted potential here, and even for comfort it's poorly built

You can build a set with artillery 5, peak performance, earplugs 5 and slugger 3 so power barrel isnt really needed I dont think. But there's definitely a lot of dps lost.

Slugger doesn’t give you more K.O’s it makes K.I’d happen faster, which is a bad thing in most cases, so it’s a complete waist of a skill slot.

I prefer Evade reload because GUN TWIRLS.

I love LBG for it's ammo, movement and versitility, the biggest issues for me are cutting tails and just the cost associated with ammo production.

As you said, Beastbuster HBG is sooo much better for stickies. And you have wyvernsnipe, cluster and wyvern ammo as heavy-hitting options when the monster is knocked out. And shield to tank stuff.

No evade reload is crazy to me but we all have our playstyles and slicing ammo should make a comeback fr

if u shoot em near the armpit near the head u can roll trips and kos at the same time it's a fun time. farmed too many decos with sticky

demon beastbuster HBG with 1 shield 4 reload assist and you pump out stickies like crazy. its all I can do to remember to make more stickies when I am down to one left so I don't you out. can be hard to track when spareshot is procing. I tried to get comfortable with the evading reload but I think I am too old for the muscle memory thing.

I do like Aquashot, but nothing feels quite as good as Charge Blade KOs. This reminds me of Lost Musket from MHGU though. Good times

He'll get more views doing meta and flavor of the month builds. That means conventional and not totally broken builds dont take priority.

If evading reload actually worked on a consistent basis it would be the most op skill for LBG. I still don't know the conditions for it to work/not work. I gave up and threw reload assist on everything.

You're gonna get so many newer players killed with that slow reload animation compare to using evade reload. Using evade reload really isn't as hard as you think, it's just comes down muscle memory plus how hard is it to double press a button while moving towards a certain direction? I'm not sure what strategy game you've been playing but that's not always the case and Monster Hunter is a reactive game and by using evade reload you can reposition yourself as well as having enough time to look around compare to a slow reload that keeps you stationary. Do you seriously think that a monster will just let you reload anytime you want?

Word. This build may work for arena and/or Zinogre, but I can see so many hunters trying this against MR Kulve and carting all the time. Imagine these people getting stuck in the reloading animation during Kulve's tail swipe, body slam, lava fist, beam, or the-floor-is-lava attacks.

I agree. If you have watched his streams he just has a difficult time using evade reload. He does mention it is the other option. He should have probably put emphasis on the fact evade reload is superior. He should also mention hitting sticky ammo damage cap.

@@joshsaenz3216 Sometimes i mess the evade reload too , however i use wyvern blast to trigger it or fire a couple of normal shots do the evade reload while switching to sticky . And to be honest the Divine Blessing is kind of trash even the secret . I don't know why but for some reasons the strongest attacks from the monsters does not trigger it .

Exactly, manually evading by reading monster attacks is way harder than using evade reload. Also with evade reload you can constantly move around to greatly reduce the number of times you need to manually evade. He deal less dps by reloading slower, getting hit and having to manually evade. Not to mention his damage is lower to begin with because of all the defensive skills he used in the build. He could have swap evade window, divine blessing and earplugs for peak performance, slugger, special ammo boost and some attack boost. I'm not sure what's the purpose of his build or what style is he going for. Evade reload is actually easier to use and more comfy than this. In fact, he could have just used HBG with shield for easy blocking, its more comfy and still deal more damage than this.

@@skychaos87 you lost all credibility by saying he could do more damage by equipping special ammo boost. That only applies to the mines not counting the fact that you have to stand around and wait for them to come back..

Are there any good pre safi substitutes because this build looks noice but I’m a bit to noobish to fight safi correctly.

look up a rajang sticky build. with even the budget build you'll get about 15-25 dmg more, with just mega and bombardier active

You can use the nargacuga armor if you want but you can also use the Brachy LB has rapid fire in its level 2 Sticky ammo so does the Jho LB and skip the armor and go for either max artillery with the Zorah armor or the Raging Brachy Armor. Edit: I think you need to kill anything to obtain the Zorah armor I think, you only need bones and mining crops from the Guiding Lands.

Yea......this build is pretty bad for stickies man,your not going to hit sticky cap with this build which is what you should be aiming for. Your loosing allot of dmg with your setup here. I suggest you swap out the earplug charm for Agitator charm, and then replace the evasion deco, and the earplug/protection deco for peak performance deco’s to squeeze out more dmg. And you also should be using evade reload, because the reload on sticky 3’s on Aquashot is abysmally slow. And evade reload will help your dps uptime with your stickies, leading to more K.O’s through out the hunt.

Builds like this are why so many people cart. The reload animation is too long for multiplayer, you will get wrack as a lbg if you get hit once. This is single player so the amount of KO differ from multiplayer. This was not a good representation.

Phillip Tran no shit thresholds multiply per person in the quest but it wont change to a crazy amount in which you place a comment stating that builds like these cause people to cart. Theyre ass or dont know the monster well along with the current weapon being used. Using all weapons and killing every monster atleast once decently with every weapon in the game was my main goal, obviously with the addition of alatreon im struggling because i dont have any youtube builds due to the fact that Jewel RNG is not on my side and that i’ll never be able to work a brain cell if trial/error isnt done on my part. Dont speak for others when its those chinese randoms dying every second and then when you inspect them you automatically think that people with those builds or similar ones are going to have the same thing happen aka carted. Comes down to skill, dont make silly statements.

Safi’s Aquashot is pretty much the best lbg for sticky ammo. The other Safi lbg’s dont have the sticky capabilities that the Aquashot has.

Mainly because you can get Nargacuga essence on it, which means that you can the bonus ability from TWO sets that require at least 3 pieces. This means that people can equip 3 Zorah armor parts to get Artillery 5 and True Spare Shot.

How did you make 3 armor for Narga essence while also making 3 for zora essence?

You need to have the free element/ammo up skill at level 3, otherwise you won’t get the extra shot for Sticky 3.

Gonna be honest this guy’s builds aren’t that great, I’d go to someone else if you want build ideas.

Suddenly tons of people are experts it seems... People are disliking for the use of slow reload? Really? Have you ever used a spread 3 LBG? It's common. Slow reload is easy to manage even on tough fights. If you can't manage it, then that's your problem. Yes, on paper evading reload is better (and I do use it on Aquashot) but I can see the argument to avoid it. Plenty of times I was tapped by another player, hit by a light monster attack, went to close to a ledge while evade reloading and suddenly I'm left without ammo and I now need to do a Very Slow reload. The strengths of evading reload is it's speed, not it's consistency, and consistency is what matters for comfort. Additionally, spamming evades to reload does not keep you safer implicitly. On the other point of people disliking because he isn't hitting the damage cap, so what? People build to their comforts. Yeah, I make tons of my builds mostly optimized for damage, but I always sneak in some evade distance gems because I like a longer range dodge. Leaving comments waxing poetic about "YOu aReNt HiTtInG mAx daMaGe" helps no one. I'm sure he knows he can deal more damage, but this is a game, and most of us play it to have fun. Most of you are just mindlessly parroting builds you've heard about from other content creators as the gospel anyway. It's nice to see a build that isn't literally ripped from reddit. Edit : I literally just did the math and swapping everything out for peak performance and agitator would yield about a 12.5% damage increase. Which is nothing. That is little more than a bonus sticky fired every time the 8th sticky is fired. Which would be completely overwritten if (because you don't have earplugs) you fail to roll a single roar and this build gets off another round of stickies. And you actually keep peak performance up all the time.... and the monster is permanently enraged.

No divine blessing 5 on a TGC build? Unsubscribed...No but seriously, evade reload is probably the whole reason you should use LBG sticky ammo, otherwise just use the mad monkey HBG instead. Evade Reload and evade extender 3 is AMAZING at dodging monsters and constantly shooting. If the reasoning for not using it is because "it's annoying" then why the hell use LBG at all in the first place? Or use elemental LBG or something different and leave sticky for HBG. Earplugs is a complete waste imho since you are ranged, you can def be pretty far from the monster (especially with evade extender 3 and evade reload) so that you can "dodge" the roar or be too far for the monster to hit you after the roar. Especially sticky that you care not for hitzones or distance. If you remove Earplugs you can fit so many more things like Slugger, KOs are so much more useful, if the monster is KOed he can't roar you
