*Scream Tail* If you think about it, Spy is essentially another form of Pyro since they can both be sneaky, catch you by surprised and has ways of instantly killing you. The next step would be giving the Spy a Flamethrower like you can in those randomizer game modes! *Piss*

Is it just me or does one have bigger backstab angle the more hours they have on spy? I just find it ridiculous what counts as a backstab at times

Experienced spies know exactly how to get to backs, and how to get people to show their backs. The backstabs look weird in realtime but if you slow it down and look at the frame by frame, 99.9% are legitimate backstabs.

Consider having 1 backstab attempt. It's most likely neither lucky nor unlucky. Now consider 100 backstab attempts. One of those is going to succeed against 1/100 odds. With 100s of hours you can make so many backstab attempts that you get into the 1/10000 range in terms of luck, or exceptionally lucky. You are not going to see anything even close to this if you watch them do a livestream. This is hundreds of hours worth of attempts to get these few clips of incredible luck.

I have over a thousand hours on spy. It's not luck at all, it's completely skill based. If it wasn't skill based then people wouldn't be able to improve and get good at it instead of praying for dumb luck. You're showing you just have absolutely no idea what you're talking about when it comes to how spy or backstabs work.

@@Sparkyyyy Of course it is skill based. That doesn't mean there isn't an element of luck to every game and every stab. When you surf a rocket you hope that something will happen. You can't put a rocket jumping soldier who isn't aware of you within reach, only luck can do that. It takes skill to enable the luck to happen, ie to go for the surf and to use skilled airstraifing to increase what is in reach. Almost all surfs do nothing though. Many regular trickstabs fail because the enemy is wise to it. This is a compilation of successes with all the thousands of fails or cases where nothing happened cut out.

@@Hedning1390 You can say the exact same about quite literally anything in any multiplayer video game. You can only work with what is in front of you, so I really don’t get what point you’re trying to argue. What else do you think the word highlight means? Trickstabs work on aware enemies anyhow. Good spies can manipulate your movement and put you in a position where they can close the gap. Its like you’re trying to post a smart sounding comment but you really just don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.

Tips against good spies: 1) Don't get close to them, do not melee, and avoid ramps and stairs at all cost 2) Don't fire explosives at their feet, unless you have enough skill to kill them mid air 3) As engy use wrangler if possible if you notice an spy. 4) At range, strafe, act as the spy is an sniper, 5) as pyro, ignite, then use airblast.

Lol, as demoknight they are free heads for the eyelander. You don't have to avoid melee range or ramps, just be aware and careful.
