GIRL.. I feel you. I’m OVER IT. I’m steady STRUGGLING. It’s a nightmare trying to manage my THICK, DRY, KINKY ass 4Z hair. I am not caring for it like I should because it’s so difficult to manage. Plus the “natural community” is kinda toxic. I’ve been holding off doing a texture softener for a while now because of the harsh judgment and guilt from the natural community. It’s not an easy decision but something’s gotta give. I can’t live like this rn and my mental health is trash and my hair has been in the back burner. Hoping to change that by making my hair more manageable.

I love your comment, 4z hair, seriously my daughter has 4c hair, I am Italian, she is mixed with Jamaican, so after 12 years of raising her, I learned quick fast, how much of a big money industry her hair is. The judgement as a "Typical white mom wants to texturize her kids hair" is beyond me at this point. From knotless box braids, to the multiple hours of detangling, dehydrating, hot masks on her hair, and everyone has something to say, what works for one persons hair doesn't always mean it works for another. Time for some texturizing, no shame.

Yoooooo!!! Everything you said touched my soul. IM SICK of doing these protective styles. The time and energy invested in the natural community with 4c is unfair. I'm texturizing it to lift the weight of my shoulders. I love black hair, but I no longer have the patience to manage her I'm never able to rock outside my home.

@@daniheriot804 I did about 20 mins (application time included) make sure you read the instructions for which product you decide to use) I made that description decision based on the Strength of my texturizer and my hair type (which in reality is super fine)

I did mine 3 days ago and it was the best decision I ever made

@@SavviiTuesday I used the Linange texturizer I linked it in the description. It was super mild and still left some texture so my hair isn’t super bone straight which is what I wanted

Yaaass I texturized mine I’m 1 year in my hair has grown soo much and sooo much easier to deal with…. I was nervous at first but I just love it sooo much more now I love doing it and now I can goooo days without having to do it now

YAAASSSSS!!!! YAAAASSSSS!!! YAAAAAAAASSSSSS!!! "What's the point of having nice hair if you can't wear it?!" My point EXACTLY! I've been wearing crochets for 3 years and my hair is longer than it has ever been. I want to wear it out but like you, I workout 4-5 days a week. It will be tiring to prep and tie up my hair to workout. This second time natural as an adult I have only worn it natural maybe 2 instances. Relax me, texturize me, just let me and my hair be great without the issue of frizz😩. I'm with you sis👌🏾

I definitely get the struggle with natural hair in humid climates. I also struggle with having one look leaving the house and then getting a completely different look by the end of the night but I've come to realize that a trusty hairtie can pull me through those moments. The winter months tend to bring some easier styling though since the humidity is gone, but then the issue is dryness. I'm here for your video though. You had me at fine hair! Great video btw!!!

Yes!! God forbid you don't see your reflection for a few hours. Come home and look in the mirror shocked and embarrassed. Then you have to braid/twist it back up before bed and you're dead tired. Enough is enough

I had to throw in the towel too after shaving my hair so many times and going natural for 9 months until yesterday 😂. The shrinkage was a struggle and doing twist as a go-to style.

I think ima do this before I decide to loc my hair. Your hair looks amazing!

Of course I will give updates as the time goes on and try different styles .. but as of right now it’s perfect for the fact that I work out 6 days a week

I want to try this I never wear my natural hair out it’s so thick it’s 4b I think and it’s low porosity every natural hair style I do doesn’t last and I’m always hair depressed when it comes to my hair it’s so much maintenance I can’t stand it. I wish it was looser it’ll be easier to manage.

Nooo don’t give up yet! If detangling is your major issue, please try to find a better product for your detangle process. Surprisingly when I was natural detangling wasn’t an issue at all

I used to get relaxers when I was younger then about 4 years ago I cut my hair and got a relaxer and did the finger waves , I let my hair grow out and my hair grew out beautifully but it never reached the length it was before and I’ve been wearing my hair in slick backs for the last 2 years back to back I haven’t straightened my hair in a very long time as well my hair is isn’t very manageable and I really want to wear my hair out in a curly fro or just out and curly but my hair is low prosperity and curly styles don’t last long and shrink up very fast resulting it to look ugly and become tangled I think a texturizer would be the best option

Yea low porosity hair sucks lol. It’s just takes so much more work for barely the results we look for. I think texturizing would help your day to day styling for sure. But just know it’s more maintenance in my opinion. Bc of low porosity I moisturize my hair every other night so it’s not dry and can retain my length

Nope not at all. It smells like whatever hair product I have which is usually Camille Rose (which smells amazing!!)

Have you been able to just leave the house like mentioned without all the work? I live in SC and the humidity messes up my styles and my hair is crazy thick which is hard to deal with as it gets longer and I just don't have the time

Yess Ive been able to be outside all day, and still come home looking how I looked when I left. Very minimal puffing, which I think is due to me not allowing the texturizer to process for too long. I’ll be doing a 1-month update soon!

So as far as styling afterwards can you blow dry it out and run a ceramic comb through it without damaging the new texture? I really been trying to wear a sleek ponytail but my chin length 4c hair is like nah ho the side be sticking out and shit even after the blow drier and comb

I would say yes. Definitely choose a great heat protectant and practice the chase method with only one pass.

I can’t say no for sure but when I touched up my roots I did scratch my scalp a few times the day before and my scalp didn’t burn at all.. if I was using a perm I definitely would’ve had a few scabs.. I hope this helps!

lol uhh theres no fro. just frizzy hair. So if you're expecting a fro and you have a similar hair type to me I'd suggest not doing a texturizer.

Is it possible to texturize your hair without going all the way to the end like just doing the root of your hair? Or should I just take it all the way down? Wanting to texturize my hair but it's just my roots not the length of my hair I'm just looking for some guidance on this being my possible first time wanted to texturize my natural hair how I should go about it

Personally, I would not recommend that. Also do the entire strand just because over time will have an inconsistency in patters throughout the strands of your hair and over time that will lead to extreme breakage.

i also texturized my hair but what the ladies know is..... put product on THE ROOTS AND ENDS LAST.. they will take product fastest and you do not want the new growth look.....

Lol😂 in my defense... I didn’t show my hair natural wet. I showed it stretched and blow dried which helped me texturize as quickly as possible. If I would’ve started from my most natural state It would’ve taken forever and I would’ve definitely damaged my hair.

I definitely think that would depend on your natural texture and how long you leave it in to process. If you naturally have looser curls, I would be extremely careful or have a professional do it
