The fact that Tony said people who like to make calls repeat themselves too much and she said "accountability" like 20 times proves his point

I like text messages but honestly phone calls alleviate unnecessary drama because you can hear people's tone and ask for clarification right away. Simple conversations aren't drawn out over hours. They both have their place.

Both are equally important if used properly. Somethings call for a direct phone call and some text. I do more texting the calling because I have done customer service call centers for 10 years and I really burned myself out hearing people wanting to hear their own voices in the phone. Bam!

I prefer phone calls cuz text don’t show any emotion or anything it’s to dry for me and it feels awkward sometimes when you trying to express something but it ends up so bland. I would rather talk so I could hear the emotions in someone’s voice if they enjoying the conversation and hear them laugh if it’s a joke instead of seeing laughing emojis when they can be just looking like stop texting me or really

Emotions aside. Texting. I don't want to talk and waste time. Texting allows me to get my points across faster to multiple people. It helps me set up events I want to go to and places. Like I'll talk when I meet up with friends. Don't want to talk to them when I am at home because it's a time waster. Also you can set your cell on silent so no noise either. It's really about how quick I can contact people now and many of them. It's just better in my opinion.

With texting I get to decide if I want to talk to that said person or not. Talking can't do that because you are forced to talk to said individual.
Phone calls because I am a busy person. So i can multitask on the phone, handle my business while getting something else done. Through text you have to stop what you are doing just to give someone an answer or solution. Then I wind up putting it off because I often can't just stop what I'm doing. Phone calls just work better for me and my lifestyle.

@tonyp9313

Not true. With Texts I don't have to answer that person back asap. I can wait. Now with phone calls I have to either have the device stuck to my ear and and do chores. I put on earphones to solve that problem, but I am still talking to that said person. Also with texts the screening of calls is a lot better because they tell me if it's an emergency or not. With calls all I see is the number and they don't leave a voice mail. If it does go to Voice mail I may not check it for at least a day or so depending on how busy I am.
Text messages to me are good for quick questions or a convo at work when you're unable to speak. I agree with Aida because a convo is personal. You can speak to me in person but not over the phone? I agree with each side.
She was on point. Everything she said was Accurate. A phones inital purpose of being created was for literal voice communication Period. Texts wastes waay too much time, has the potential to misconstrue simple dialogue creating strife and allows ppl to be unaccountable slackers. The End.

Texting is better. Then follow up with a video call (friends and family) if need be.
For me, it depends on who is on the other line. I can talk to some people because they get to the point of the call. Others drag out the conversation for-freaking-ever. They'll do stuff like say, "alright, Imma letchu go and I'll talk to you later" then immediately after say, "oh, but did you hear about so-and-so getting locked up/dying/getting married?" Nope, but *text me the details* and we will discuss it another time. lol I _have_ to text some people because talking to them is like pulling teeth with their short ass attention spans. I'm too long winded to constantly repeat myself because the person on the other line talking to everybody in their immediate area while I'm on the other line.
Depends on the relationship. If yall just bumpin uglies, i dont see the point of talkin on the phone much but if y'all tryna be serious with each other then yea having 1 on 1 conversations with each other on the regular is important
I would rather get a call, someone always text me while I'm driving.

And btw most people don't even know how to actually talk on the phone, as far holding a good conversation, having awkward pauses when running out of things to say, a text is right to the point
😂😂😂😂😂 I agree with both parties! I will say I don't like long winded/convo text. Long winded texting gets lost in translation and get misinterpreted. If u have to text a novel, then you definitely got time to talk on the phone (common sense). It cuts out the excuse "did u get my text?" or "never got the message. Knowing damn well they got the message. Important convo should be a phone call/face time/meet in person to talk. Brief dialog are for texting
Texting is the best way to have a misunderstanding because the receiver determines how it is perceived. With calls you don't have that problem.
People call to hear themselves talk. FACTS
Before I watch the debate, Text all the way.

Text messages only for really short messages, but not a conversation. Phone calls over texts! A simple explanation via a phone is way faster via a text message, which the counterpart can take totally different --> #toomuchconfusion. Key & Peele had a good sketch I think about that topic..

LaTerice Rule - No problem with text MESSAGES, but if you're going to have a back and forth about a topic, then it's a text CONVERSATION, which lasts way longer than a phone call of the same conversation.

@@jwdathefax377 Text messages don't last that long even if someone were to write you like 5-10 paragraphs. It took me like 5-10 min to read and respond. Now if they were talking, I had conversations lasting 1-2 hours. It's really a waste of time because I can be doing other things. Now I can't because I have to concentrate on said person.

Tony P - Nah, I’m talking about a back and forth about a specific topic. In the time it takes to finish that back and forth through text, it could’ve been over twice as fast through a call. As far as someone getting off topic during a phone call, I personally know how to give a short response to the subject that’s off topic, then immediately tell that person that I’m busy and have to go, but it’s not like that’s gonna happen in EVERY phone call anyway.
@tonyp9313
4 жыл бұрын
@@jwdathefax377 If you are talking back and forth on 1 topic that means that is already taking you a while. Lets say you do manage to talk about a certain topic within that 1 min of the phone call, people are not just going to say, yeah I got to go now. You'll be staying on that phone for at least 1 hour discussing other topics. However on text I can stop on just the one said topic or have a choice to continue other topics. Maybe it will take me 10 min back and forth on 1 topic during text. Ok but now you have to account for the other 50 min that you are still on the cell talking various topics.
Texts over calls because I can answer at my leisure. My problem with cellphones is the assumption that since someone calls I should be available to answer or call back within a certain amount time. I feel like a hostage in that scenario. I guess coming from a era before cellphones were commonplace spoiled me. I’m from the time where you had to come home and check the answering machine to get missed calls. This was also before caller ID so you had to leave a message so that I even knew you called to begin with. Tony was right ppl repeat themselves way too often. I have a great memory so I will remember if you told me the same story 5 weeks ago lol
Tony, keep this going. I, myself, hate to talk on the phone cuz, after two minutes, I don't have anything else to say. Just breathing and a lot of "ahuh" and "right, right, right".
Yo man, this is the best way of solving problems, loved the video!

You damn right I don't answer the phone. 😂😂
Technology (texting) has caused great damage with the beauty of "conversation!" We have lost the art of "talking to each other." Text messaging is appropriate in some cases and in others it can be insensitive and out of place. If an individual takes the time to pick up their phone and call you. The proper response would be is to return their "phone call" ....not text message them. Text messaging is also "impersonal" as well. Let's get back to talking to each other. It makes a world of difference!
This is a teachable moment and a sign of the times. I don't care for phone calls nearly as much as a text. The timestamps.
Aida was like, "You had me waiting outside, I ain't leaving" lol
I enjoy Aida!
Totally depends on the situation for me. Lol. If it's someone I really enjoy talking to and I have free time and can be alone I'll take talking on the phone. If I'm out somewhere on the bus or whatever people can just text me. I'm not always in the mood to talk on the phone in public especially if it's something personal or someone I'm close to who might bring up something personal. Lol.
And what do you know! My spirit animal, Tony Baker he won it all. We got this. We out here!

A text can be misinterpreted easily so if you need the information to be clear especially in conflict situations the call can help with that... plus if you have a follow-up question I can answer them on the spot and you don't need to wait for a text to be seen.
Texts let's me have multiple conversations with a various of entities with close to definite answers in the responses. Yea I think of myself as a conversationalist but I prefer Texting. Good job.
