Texas (& Sharleen in particular) have a timeless quality. I can still remember buying Southside when I was 17 & have never grown tired of their sound, & this song is beautiful. All being well I’ll be seeing them perform in Liverpool next year & I am beyond excited. I have spinal damage that causes constant pain & as it’s progressed my world has shrunk more & more - but music is something that’s always remained. I don’t get to go to many gigs any more as getting anywhere is difficult & there’ll always be a price to pay pain-wise, usually 4-5 days of heightened pain. But getting to see Texas live again - it makes the pain worth it.

Wow. I'm sorry to read of your challenges... Pft... wow. Anyway, it's great to read how Sharleen's genius has helped you. She (and they, yes) have that 'it', tapped into the flow. Timeless, powerhouse musical creators. I first heard of Texas around 14 and it a slow trickle, Say What You Want wowed me, love that one, the song and video and her in it, it's beyond brilliant. But just hit after hit, killer song after killer song, she drives it and it's unreal. I'm 1/3 into Sodajerker On Songwriting (podcast on Spotify), Episode 203 with Sharleen Spiteri and it's reminding me of their progress over the years and expanding my understanding, hearing her describe her creative/writing/performing/recording process, approach and philosophy.
